“The white rose is the ‘flower of light,’ and it represents loyalty, purity, and a love stronger than death.” – 'Never For Glory,' Lloyd Lofthouse
An explosive suspense novel that makes it very clear who the real bad guys are.
I enjoyed Lloyd Lofthouse's, 'Never For Glory,' immensely and found myself turning the pages so fast that I nearly broke my Kindle!
Before I go any further, let me give a brief summary of the plot (with no spoilers, of course). Josh Kavanagh is a Marine Corps sniper who is desperate to find the man who put his wife into a coma. Rachel is Josh's high school sweetheart, and their romance is part of the plot of the first book in this series. But, if you have not read that book, Lloyd Lofthouse does a great job of catching up new readers in this one.
After parachuting into Venezuela, Josh makes it his mission to find Damien Bran, the man responsible for his wife's coma. But Bran's sex trafficking operation is huge, and Josh finds himself in the thick of a dangerous situation very quickly.
Realizing that he must find a way to end Bran's operation and free the children that he has kidnapped once and for all, Josh also struggles with the realization that he may still be in love with his former girlfriend, Mia.
Now a world-renowned musician, Mia, who is a former sex-trafficking victim herself, joins Josh on the mission in Venezuela, providing a very welcome distraction from the horror that he is witnessing.
Of course, Josh is conflicted about his feelings for her, and his decision about whether he should deal with the possibility that his wife may never wake up, makes up the emotional spine of the novel.
This is a great read!
