In the finale to the Harvester of Light Trilogy, Skye learns the depths to which Lucena Day, self-proclaimed Queen of the Eastern Kingdom, will go to in order to bring her back by her side. With Jace as her constant, Skye meets the challenges the queen places in her way as she fights to bring life back into the world with the first dawn.
Once upon a time, a little girl was born on a cold winter morning in the heart of Seoul, Korea. She was brought to America by her parents and raised in the Deep South where the words ma'am and y'all became an integrated part of her lexicon. She wrote her first novel at the age of eight and continued writing on and off during her teenage years. In college she studied biology and chemistry and finally combined the two by earning a master's degree in biochemistry. After that she moved to Yankee land where she lived for four years working in a laboratory at Cornell University. Homesickness and snow aversion forced her back South where she lives in the land which spawned Elvis Presley, Oprah Winfrey, John Grisham and B.B. King. After finding her Prince Charming, she gave birth to a wondrous gift named Caylin and they all lived happily ever after.
The second book to the Harvester of Light trilogy will be available for purchase no later than December 2012.
Damn, can we please get more books to this series? I mean just novellas about the side and other major characters would be awesome. I want to know more about the future with everyone. I mean yes we got a few glimpses but I'm selfish I want more. Just something to say yeah this is what exactly happened. I mean heck I even want side story on the Queen. Psycho as she was she intrigued me some. And in the end, that was kind of brilliant. But please I want another few books on other characters. And I don't want to spoil anything so I won't say what characters.
I have read all the books! I absolutely loved each one. The books kept you guessing and wondering what would happen next. I totally recommend reading the whole series.
This is a really good finale to the Harvester of Light Trilogy. I like the progression of the story very much and find the dynamic between Skye, Jace and the twins very engaging. I also find it heart rending to watch Skye struggle with what must be done. There are places in the book that feel very surreal to me, just as I assume they ‘are’ to Skye. The ending to the story is almost perfect.
The entire series is very enjoyable through the very last sentence of this final book. That is not something I say about every dystopian series I read. West hooks me from the beginning of Harvester and holds my interest throughout until the story completes at the end of Dawn.
I also highly recommend her Watchers Series to any who have not read it yet.
Dawn is the final book in the Harvesters of Light trilogy. Skye discovers utter depravity the self-proclaimed queen and the measures the queen will go to bring Skye to her side. Skye and Jace will do whatever it takes "to bring life back into the world with the first dawn". The reason I read this book is because of it's author who also wrote the Watchers Trilogy, Watchers Chronicles, Caylin's story and the Redemption series. I so love the authors writing style and the way she can engulf you into the story and characters. This series is well worth the read as is everything Sandy writes.
I really liked it a lot. I enjoyed the storyline and characters. My one complaint would be that the ending left some things up in the air. SPOILER. It almost feels like there should have been a follow-up book or an epilogue to expand on what happens now that queen is dead. Do the Harvesters become good or do they insist on the cure Michael promised them? I just feel that for a trilogy things were still left hanging.
I really enjoyed this book. It had such a great ending and the characters are very descriptive. At the start of this book it was exciting and thrilling which made me want to read more and more. There is always action and drama in each chapter. I would recommend it though to people fifteen or older because there are some adult moments and gruesome parts in the book. I gave this book a four star rating because there are places where the story could improve but overall a good read.
I hate how empty I always feel after reading a series that I'm so invested in. It's been like four days and I don't know what to say about this book series but it was so good and I think I might have even stretched out my usual time frame for reading a book of this length because I didn't want it to finish.
This Book 3, moves Skye and Jace's lives with such overwhelming force by evil dictator, Lucinda (Lucena), that you can't compare the action or emotions to anything else.
I'm so glad the author is leaving this trilogy open ended. I look forward to much more of Skye and Jace's future. Thank you, S.J. for providing quality works of art.
This trilogy was hard for me to put down once I started it. S J West does weave a wonderful story and this post apocalyptic tale has everything, suspense, friendship, a love story, horror, not to mention the human fight for survival in a world run by a mad woman. I seriously enjoyed this trilogy and really everything else that S J West has written, I'm a huge fan.
Jace and Skye are finally together and have two new editions to the family. Only the Queen isn't giving up on Skye, Skye knows what he must do but can she? In Dawn we see a lot more of Skye and Jaces's relationship which I love, Jace is a total gentleman, he is the one thing that keeps Skye grounded. Hope and Dawn we were introduced to some new faces each with their own kind of spunk.
This last book in the trilogy kept me hanging on to the edge of my seat, it was a great ending to an amazing story. I hope S.J. West decides to expand on this story in the future because I want to see how it evolves. I loved this series...so sad it's over (for now).
I love how this book ended! How weird is it that I cried when Skye cried over killing Lucena?!?! Like Skye knew, I knew she had to die.... but after she showed her love for her it was hard to see her as the monster she really was. Very good book!!
What a fantastic series as well as the Watcher series! I truly enjoyed the thrilling, suspense of this Apocalyptic Trilogy of the Harvesters verses the human kind to survive and avoid being kidnapped by Queen Lacena. I loved Jace, Skye, Ash, Zoe, Kale, Kirk, Teegan, Simon and Rosey of course.
OMG!!! such a happy ending but I really want to see more than a glimpse of their future. I'm really glad Lucena is death, I hated that bitch to the max, even though it was necessary I understand Skye reasoning even I would doubt myself a bit
A highly under rated series. It had a good story and interesting characters. I highly recommend this series to everyone. You'll like it if you give it a chance:) Great finale to a great series!
The conclusion of the Harvester of Light Series is dramatic to say the least and the stories’ many twists and turns leaves the reader breathless at times. An excellent read!
