This alphabet board book of fantastic LEGO creations is specifically for toddlers. It's a visual LEGO feast rather than an instructional book. The colorful, bold images are easily recognizable for the youngest LEGO enthusiasts.
Sean Kenney, author of Cool Robots and Cool Cars and Trucks, likes to prove you can build anything with LEGO bricks. He makes sculptures and models out of LEGOs at his studio in New York City, and his work has inspired kids to create great things themselves. He is recognized as one of the premier LEGO brick builders in the world.
Makes me want to build the letters of the alphabet and a model for each letter... Would be great for the toddler age. Although I wouldn't build all of the ones in the book as the scale varies widely and I'd want something small and compact (shelf size). Lots of fun creations and great ideas.
I think this book is good for children learning the alphabet because it is a lego themed illustration. Children seem to be very interested in legos, especially boys, so I feel like they would be really fascinated by the illustrations. I also like the amount of color used and the fact that there is not a whole lot of words on each page so the child is not overwhelmed.
Very fun book. I loved looking at the pictures with my toddler and helping him learn new words. My husband is a huge lego fan and had some complaints about "lego rules" being broken for some builds LOL. Overall super cute!
Lego building blocks appear on individual pages for each letter of the alphabet. The board book sturdy pages are appropriate for toddlers but the appeal of Legos will span a wider age and families will enjoy the colorful, clever photographs. Reviewer 17
How did I miss this one? It was published last year and didn't know about it until recently when I've been scouring online sources for more LEGO-related books for the library. Of course this one I wouldn't mind buying for my own collection...for the granddaughters, of course!
great use of lego. the letter examples range from the simple (the umbrella) to more complex, and also in varying scale. my favorite would be the zipper.
Amazing ABCs indeed! Each page features an item made entirely of Legos. Sure to be enjoyed by Lego enthusiasts of all ages, and young readers who enjoy pointing and naming. What a gem!
Alphabet, plus LEGO's? Could not get any better for Tommy. The only drawback is, he keeps asking me to find the instructions for building the objects in this book.
For the serious LEGO enthusiast who wants to introduce their toddler to the alphabet through the awesomeness of LEGO creations then this is the board book for you. ~The Librarian Uncle
