While I lay in bed with this horrible news, the only thing I could think of was Psalm 23. Never had that scripture had such meaning to me. Never had I truly understood what the 'valley of the shadow of death' meant, but instantly I knew. Those moments felt like an eternity while I waited for someone to bring me to my son. How I wished I could run to him! Cindi's life seemed to be following her perfect plan. She had completed her college degree right on time and had been married for five years. She had the perfect job, teaching deaf children, and now she was expecting her first baby. Life was great! Then, everything changed. At a routine doctor's appointment and ultrasound, something unexpected was found--something terribly wrong. Remembering Spencer tells the story of how after a devastating and tragic experience, author Cindi Broussard Rust learned to trust God again and how God took her from the valley of despair to the mountaintop of His blessings. In Remembering Spencer, she shares her most intimate moments in an attempt to allow you to understand the pain and heartache of the loss of a child while explaining how God taught her to put the pain aside without forgetting her son.
