Although an extremely thick book, this chronicles the life and times of Singer/musician Sidney Barnes' lengthy and dramatic career in the music industry. It explains why he calls George Clinton, the founder of Parliament/Funkadelic, his best friend, how he worked closely with songbird Minnie Riperton, and just how the music business operated as he was maneuvering his way around the business & performances.
Tom Wright did a great job pulling this together, and constructing the book in an easy to read format so all can see and understand. It also contains pictures of Sidney's early childhood, his days as a performer, songwriter, and family man, and also how the music business hurt, as well as helped him. A totally honest breakdown of his entire career up until now, as he is still out there performing & pleasing his fans.
If you want to have an in-depth look at the music industry's recent history, this is a great resource. I liked this book very much!
