A. E. Murphy is the Queen of sarcasm and satire, she likes long walks in the park, as much as ice cubes like to chill in a roasting oven.
She’s effortlessly independent and so good at adulting it’s unfair on the rest of the world. She only napped twice today and has only avoided the dishes for three days before making the child slaves do them this morning.
Winning!
Her favourite hobby is writing, her worst hobby is reading through that writing.
Also she has two cats that carry toys to the top of the stairs and drop them down so they can chase them. They do this repeatedly in the middle of the night.
Who cares if she has work the next morning?
Not the cats, that’s for sure.
And if it’s not the cats doing the waking, it’s the toddler crawling into bed with her and pulling individual hairs from her scalp with pudgy little fingers for comfort.
This is likely why she’s in a constant state of grump unless there’s chocolate and coffee.
P.S. Please leave feedback, if not on the book then on this ridiculous bio she wrote herself. It’s the least you can do seeing as she’ll forever talk in the third person now.
Alex loves her readers. Alex says thank you. Alex smiles.

I was so eager to read this book as the first one had me hooked from page one and all way through, though it left me asking questions it was a fantastic read with all the elements I love in a novel.

A little bit of us had me guessing all the way through ( another thing I enjoy in a book ) the first 20%/30% did have me scratching my head, I was thinking to myself what the hell has happened to Maya, she went from sassy ( in the first book ) to irritatingly childish. Thankfully the more I read the more of the old Maya I loved returned and reason why did come to light further in the story, and she was back to her one liners that had me hooked in the first book. This series was an emotional roller coaster, it had me lol and close to tears. Glad to say James totally grew a pair, (I was really rooting for him to redeem himself) he was definitely more my kind of BB in this book :)
Most of my questions were answered ( nicely done Alex ) You left me wanting more of Maya and James, well done.
I absolutely loved this series and recommend it all romance lovers

Warning spoilers!

I really enjoyed this series but was exhausted by all the back and forth between the H and h. I loved James for most of the 1st book but really hated him by the end of the 1st and through all of the 2nd book. He kept getting worse and at one point accuses Maya of being lazy and reaping the benefits of her father's company as opposed to his accountant girlfriend being a hard worker, this is after we all find out how Maya tripled the size of the company since she'd been a teenager. I don't believe he deserves Maya between the cheating, spouting hateful things and dating her employee. And why was Maya so self-hating when she was kickass in book 1? She kept blaming herself for everything despite everything that James put her through. He was so jealous if she befriended and talked to another guy after their divorce yet he dated and messed around with yet another of Maya's employees. I couldn't understand his mindset. It was starting to get really annoying when by 90 something % the characters still hadn't sorted their shit out. I was hoping for Maya to have a HEA with Jacob or Lucas since I was so put off by James.

Other than that, I disliked some of the inconsistencies such as Lucas and Amelia's surname being Grant at the end of book 1 and then Drake in book 2. Also words such as oy (hey), flat (apartment), piss off, and many others are British slang words and as a Brit I was confused why they were being used by American characters.

Pathetic and depressing. I just don’t know what else to do. If a book is not even able to make you feel better, then I just don’t know what it is it’s purpose. Except those school books that are purposely annoying and boring as fugg.
This one has two characters that I hated. They married for an arrangement and he fell in love with her first. They are in love but he thinks she is cheating on him while she’s helping his brother to find him. So the hero cheats on her and sends her the pictures of him and ow.
Divorce.
She finds out she’s pregnant.
She must have sinned hard in a past life to be tied to such a loser forever.
He wants her back, she wants but can’t forget. Counseling fails.
She dumps him.
He dates another woman.
Ok, she rejected him but if a man says he loves me and wants me and I’m pregnant with his child I expect that at least the child is born before he dates other women.
He’s a loser.
A passive aggressive
People in the story are wrong.
It’s wrong to say to a woman who’s been cheated on to forgive and move on.
Fuck you. Fuck you to hell.
No! Just no! She has to grieve.
She has to mourn:
She had lost her trust.
She needs time to heal.
Why the hell people have to say that you have to move on and forgive soon and immediately? Are you stupid born?
Why is it always the victim that has to do the bigger gesture?
Go to hell!
Author is unable to convey the emotional pain of a woman betrayed and she turns it into a farce, with the heroine always being horny because of her pregnancy and the hero a pathetic whimper that can’t even wait and be there for the woman he cheated on and professed to love because he has the right to be happy and so he dates other women.
Burn in hell.
In the end it seems that it’s the heroine’s fault if he cheated and had sex with ow so this chauvinist attitude of the writer really makes me wonder what years and years of feminism battles were worth. Nothing. We’re still one hundred years ago, where the woman has always to settle and stay pure and the man is a man and has always right.
Awful.

To say I'm nervous would be an understatement. With part 1 I didn't spend enough time on it, I didn't rush it however but it wasn't to the standard I should have aimed for.
This one, I've really tried with this one, really tried, and also had help off a great woman (who probably wants to kick me repeatedly for keeping her up late with my many late night emails). I really hope I haven't let anybody down!
This has been a challenge, to think of the perfect ending, to make sure the story flows from the first, to add everything I missed before without making it drag.
I believe it's good, I believe I have in fact nailed it. (I keep telling myself this, it makes me feel better :') )

Thank you for taking your time to read my book. I'd love to hear your thoughts, criticisms or praise. The only way I can grow as a writer is because of the awesome people reading :) xx
Wish me luck! xx

what an appallingly distasteful story of 2 of the weirdest MCs I've had the displeasure of reading

they only end up together because the book had to end sometime
they were going nowhere fast
there's no reason for them to be together
she pushes him away continuously, then reels him in, then pushes him away. ad nauseam
he moves on, is in a relationship he seems to be happy in, he's finally smiling and texting and going to movies and being intimate with someone else
I'm so glad because this h is way ott slimy, crude, the antithesis of everything I like in a heroine; vulgar, irresponsible, immature, downright creepy, there's nothing attractive about her personality, her actions and thoughts
he's an insulting limp noodle who acts like a damn drama queen because he cant get his way after dipping his married dick into an available hole

in the previous book: 1st installment of this story:
they marry (convenience)
he cheated because he thought she cheated - (she was acting even more dodgy than usual and he retaliated by cheating)
she divorces him

this is instalment 2 - final
she's pregnant (unwanted by her)
he wants to be around for the pregnancy and after
she doesn't want him because he cheated and for other reasons she wont take the time and effort to figure out
she wants him and his brother and her dr because she's horny, rightfully so, they're all gorgeous, she's single. thing is, if he's drooling was penned the way hers are, we'd all be flipping our nuts
& she's got the full dog-in-the-manger thing going on: she doesn't want him but bitches when he moves on
and they t0 and fro for the whole damn book, the whole pregnancy and after

EXCERPTS: and these are the mild compared to the some other stuff she gets up to:

Her thoughts of his brother:
“He’s James’ brother! Right now the lines are blurred in a haze of horniness. You know he’s packing. Just get him drunk and seduce him. My mind is evil. Pure evil."

Hero's brother: “What are you thinking about?”
her thoughts: Screwing your brains out!
her: “I’m actually wondering about you,”
her thoughts: and what you feel like”

her thoughts of her new dr:
“Wow, I think I just creamed a little. That’s so vulgar but seriously. My new doctor is hot.”

her about his gf:
“James. You could do so much better than a fucking mouse lookalike from shitty accounting.”

her, about ONE of the reasons why she won't co-parent properly with him, knowing he'll make a brilliant father:
him: “I’ll have her a week you have her a week.”
her: “Not possible. I’m going to breastfeed.”
Actually I was going to use baby milk but I feel like breastfeeding.
Just to be awkward.
I don’t want my kid around his new woman.
It’s not fair.

then, in her own words, when he begs her yet again to give them a chance:
“Have some self-respect! I’ve done nothing but treat you like dirt since the day we met! I’ve been mean to you, I’ve teased you, I’ve ignored you and then I married you under false pretenses and now look! Look at what I’m doing now! Pushing you away for zero reasons, because I can’t find anything wrong with our relationship. I have no excuses as to why I just don’t want to be with you other than that! I just don’t feel like it! Yet here you sit and I don’t deserve you…”

4.5* stars!

Just loved the continuation of Maya and James' story! It's hard to write a review on this one as would give away the story line. So let me try and not give anything away!

Was shocked with James retaliation method, lowered my spirits and respect for this character. Maya in the other hand just got better and better, her feisty spirit shining through, had me remembering things and thinking that's so true! The author really injects some great humour and witty come backs, especially as all characters from book 1, continue to play good roles.

This final conclusion to Maya & James, had some great hilarious moments and some sad serious moments. The great thing being that you just cannot guess what is going to happen next and which final path Maya will take! Will she choose James, go it alone or perhaps even choose Jacob?

The only way to find out it to read this wonderful series!

So looking forward to reading the next installment, about Luke, James' brother...again we have no idea which of the characters involved in the first two books is actually going to be the one that has caught his attention!!

The story started with Maya and James rebuilding their shattered relationship and trying to get past what happened. I like the flow of the story and how realistic the characters thoughts and decisions. In real life, it's either they never get over it or it would take a lot of time, space, forgiveness and acceptance to get over infidelity.

Yes, she forgave him, but cheating is not something you could actually forget, EVER!

OMG! Fast blast and quick stick cracked me up...although, everything went to hell after that cracked up moment, well not right after.... she's been egging him on, and the guy's ego totally got bruised after the posters...

This novel is such a roller coaster... He's seeing someone else!! couldn't he wait longer? like, after her pregnancy!?!?! Gawwd! I hate him!! (totally dig this shit)

WHen I read a novel, sometimes I do wish to be able to read the guy's POV, but in this one, i'm satisfied reading her thoughts, she's such a character...

They were getting comfy together and I thought, WTF she just forgave him about Sarah, too bad, that asshole needs a lesson shoved up his ass.

What a story.
Maya got pregnant.
her husband cheated coz he thought she did
she couldn't find it in her to forgive and forget
They tried to work things out for the sake of their child, but it didn't go well
they ended things
he tried to move on
she got hurt when he did
they fought even after the child was born
then things happened...in the end, they forgave EACH OTHER.

We pick straight up from where we left James and Maya... Time passes and things are slowly changing...

There is still the great banter between all the characters, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Maya's internal dialogue is highly entertaining, and there is certainly more angst in this book as emotions are tested.

Luke is a complete sweetheart in this story. I am very much looking forward to him being the focus in the next book.

Highly entertaining read that I couldn't put down..you should be very pleased with yourself, Alex!

FIVE WORTHY STARS

The second book in the series picks up where book 1 A Little Bit of Crazy (Little Bits) left off.
Maya has left James and is rooming with her friend Jacob a famous film star. Then when Maya discovers she's pregnant, she has to tell James who immediately jumps on the first plane to persuade her to come home. Can he? Will Maya ever forgive him?

In this second book the author very realistically writes about the problems that Maya and James have in their marriage, I totally got where Maya was coming from. James is a nice guy but his insecurities lead him to do things that seem like a good idea. When really they are just causing bigger problems.

The characters are just as engaging here as they were in the first book. Maya is still the star of the show, her internal dialogue is at times really funny. Coming to terms with being pregnant she has to make a lot of changes in her life, and dealing with James' constant pressurising doesn't help. James' character was much more developed in this book, he still makes all the wrong decisions when it comes to Maya, but he's learning, it just goes to show that being handsome isn't enough. I love how all the other characters in this are not just there as fillers, they all have their own distinct and well defined personalities. This is an all round great read that is at times laugh out loud funny. But there are some deeper and sad moments as well. I'm looking forward to the next book featuring Lucas James' brother.

What a corker of an author AE Murphy is, the second part of the story of Maya and James had me biting my nails right till the epilogue, yes Maya can be annoying but James had me shouting at my Kindle too, but I loved it. AE made me laugh and cry in this book, i couldn't put this book down. AEs style of writing is perfect it's sassy steamy emotional and funny all in one and I can't wait for more.
Excellent without a doubt 5stars from me.

Oh noooooo...... I've finished!! Damn it lol.

Part 2 of maya and James' story was just as good as the first part.

Picks up right where the first story left off.

Really love Alex's writing style and Maya's internal monologue and arguments with her libido had me laughing out loud.

Happy to hear there is going to be a 3rd book with Lucas' story as I would love to see him get his happy ever after and learn more about his life before his accident.

I always find it hard leaving reviews as I don't like to spoil the story for others so I won't give any details but I will say this series is funny sexy and very very entertaining.

Well done Alex :) xx

I skipped all the way through 89% of it and I finally won against the masochistic part of me that led me to read this book.
Terrible and above all POINTLESS story.
James? A spineless and weak character all the way through.
Maya? A frustrating, confused and confusing spoiled brat.
What a pair.

Great finish to James and Maya's story.
Great writing, kept us guessing and gripped to the end and some total LOL moments - I am totally stealing some of Maya's lines!!!

Can't wait for Lucas's story - I hope it explains some the feelings that are hinted on in the first 2 books x

Thank Gawd!

Yes, Thank gawd for the way this novel ended! I was ready to hurl Maya over a bridge! Stop it, will you? Stop stringing him along!

Oh, Maya! You annoyed the hell out of me this time! My heart ached with yours. I totally understood your grief and your position. BUT! When things seem to look up, you irritated me to the point my eyes hurt from rolling sooo many freaking times. The pranks, the jokes, the blowing the real problems off. Marie should have been shaking the hell out of you, slapping some sense into you. But then... you saved yourself. It was the reason behind the jokes and the pranks that saved you, girl. And I was so proud of you for stepping up and facing all your fears, shedding those tears, and allowing yourself to feel. Losing your father was hard, I know, but you did it. You stepped up and acknowledged the truth. Yay! Big hug.

But then... you pissed me off again! And then I hurt with you over the whole Zara ordeal, but hell! If that's what it took to make you finally wake up, to see the man who cherishes you, by gawd, it was worth all the heartache.

I soooo loved the delivery scene. Loved all of it. And James, I soo rooted for you and Maya. I ♥'d you all along. But most of all, I ♥ you, Ms. Murphy for the way you ended James and Maya's story. Just absolutely fell in love with this series.

Now we have Lucas, and Jacob and... well, as with any series, when the characters change from the original ones, I wonder if I will like them or love them as much as I do the originals. SO! Lucas, you have a story out there, and a little birdie tells me Jacob will have a story too ;)

Well done to Alexandra - loved this book more than 1st book. James thankfully grew some and made Maya realise her feelings for him but kept me guessing right to the end as to the outcome of James and Maya. Jacob, Lucas or James - who would Maya choose. Would James walk away?

I was completely surprised by this book. I usually find that the second part of a series is somehow lacking, whether it be in the storyline or the feelings behind what is happening or it simple can't compare to the first book. This was not a problem in A Little Bit of Us. The characters were completely believable. They were each flawed and messed up but in the end I fell in love with them anyways. The story line was what really took me by surprise. The main characters were not instantly given their happy ever after so that most of the read is spent in bliss with only a few bumps here and there. The entire story was an emotional rollercoaster that had me laughing and crying and everything in between. I highly recommend this book and I plan on reading it again sometime in the future. Props to A.E. Murphy for a great read.

So I loved this and the last book. I have to say it made my heart hurt....literally. I felt like I was having a panic attack...

OMG I loved Maya soooo much. She was quirky and funny. I can seriouy say she was stronger than me. If a dude had done all that James had done to her he would have been missing a testicle. She had every right to be heart broken. Especially considering the cause of the events.

James was immature and self conscious enough to use that to break a woman. Instead of talking and expressing himself he jumped the gun again and again. I know he was doing his best at the end considering the circumstances but he creates the circumstance...

I loved the other characters in this book as well. I cant wait to read Lucas story!!!

Beware I'm going to have to rant!! WTF was Maya thinking she should have NEVER EVER forgiven James he was a dick to do what he did in the first book and he just got even worse in this book I hated him by the end it. What happened to maya in the first book she was kick ass and I don't believe that Maya would have taken him it makes me so MAD. I want to give this book 1star rating because of it but I just can't because the author kept me reading until the end and I loved all the other characters. I can't wait for Lucas story and I really hope Marie is his love interest and would love for Jacob to get a novel!!!

I almost almost didn't finish reading this a late this afternoon. You know why I hate her even more because of her stubbornness, immature decisions, I come on let's give James a one hell of a break. That guys almost worship the land she walks on but then again because of her stubbornness I'm glad that James shows some ugly skin to her. I even smiled so bright in those moment. Because the feeling that I felt I almost gave up reading this, but good things happen for those who wait. So I waited and waited that something good will happen "eventually" for them and it did. Glad at the end she already have her senses back or else I'm just gonna throw my ebook reader. Hahaha.

I read the first book and LOVED it. I laughed out loud at times. I immediately started the second. This book ruined it all for me. James is such an ass. He has no reason to do the things he did to her. He said things and called her things that were abusive. I could not sleep after finishing the book and I kept replaying the part, where she is 8 months pregnant, and he tells her he has found someone else!! Ugh.

I was really conflicted when I read this novel. At times I wanted her to be with Jacob or even Lucas because James was such an asshat but I'm glad how it turned out and I'm glad I read the novel. It was amazing!
