It is recommended that you read Gone (Parallel Trilogy, Book 1) before reading Imprisoned. This description contains spoilers for Gone.
Trapped in a parallel universe where it is illegal to be overweight, Morgan Campbell is dragged out of her house and locked up in a Federally Assisted Thinning (F.A.T.) center. Bullied by the Enforcers who run the place, and treated like a prisoner, all she can think about is breaking out so she can get back to her world. With her whereabouts constantly monitored by the chip in her arm, and not having any access to the outside world, she fears she won't be able to escape and that she will be stuck in this world forever.
Christine loves to read, but also loves to write suspenseful stories. She enjoys camping and hiking with her family and watching movies. Check out her website: christinekersey.com
I quit reading it about a hundred and fifty pages in. I understood the plot from book one of the series (which was slow reading also). There is nothing exciting about her adventure, no page turning moments, just Morgan whining and babbling the entire time.
It was an okay read but a little too wordy. I kept skimming to find the action. The plot was adequate enough to keep me interested. After all the first one ended on a cliff-hanger and I had to buy this one to move forward. I must admit though if it had been any more money I would have abandoned the story. Tighter writing would create shorted books but it might make them better. Although there might be some who like all that wordiness. And yes...I did go buy the third one to find out how the story ended. So I guess I did get caught up in the parallel universe and had to see how she was going to get out of that mess.
I kept telling her not to go back in that F.A.T. facility...but nooooo...did she listen! *sheesh*
This is a fast-paced story that I didn't want to put down. It is a clean YA, as far as language and boy-girl relationships go, with loyalty and friendship and family being important. But the government goes too far in its mistreatment of children, and the pacing is relentless! When I finished this one, I couldn't wait to start the third book, desperate to find out how things would get resolved!
IMPRISONED by Christine Kersey book 2 in Parallel series. Morgan taken by the Enforcers, now being bullied, held captive. With a chip in her arm, seems impossible to get out of this world and return to home. Twenty pounds, ten weeks, then they would release her, what kind of a center was this. That held a person captive, saying it's for a healthier world. She meets Billy, someone to hang onto, but does he believe her, about another world then this. Story continues with HUNTED
Imprisoned, I really liked this book, it was a fast pace reading book. In order to under stand this book you have to read the 1st book in the series. It takes a little to get to the lead up to the end of the book and the middle of the book talks all about how she is trying to get back out of the F.A.T camp and get back home in her universe.
This book in the series felt a bit slow. It's obviously a trilogy at least but I seemed to lose interest with this one. It's written well, it full of character, and it's in the perfect genre it just seemed too long, or something. Maybe it's not my normal genre to read but I enjoyed the first book, maybe I"m just anxious for her to get home and it didn't happen.
This is a Parallel World story. Morgan has run away from home and enters a parallel world where if your over weight your sent to a fat camp. Where they put a chip in your arm so they can track you.
Wow, what an amazing follow up to the first book. This author has some wonderful, inventive imagination to dream this up. This storyline is incredible and I can't wait to read the next one
This book shows what can happen when the government gets to much control over our lives.About a world where it is illegal to be fat and they drag you off to Fat centers. This is a great story and also scary because I can see this happening slowly to our world t o day. This is the second of a three part trilogy.
This book was just as good as the first one. Still full of suspense and unexpected turns in the plot. I can't wait to read hunted and see if Morgan and Billy will get to the other world.
Morgan is arrested for behaviour that is not acceptable in this new world. She seems to create enemies easily. Interesting ideas with addiction to sugar and being overweight being the issue. The writing is not great but there is something about the story that is intriguing.
This second book in the trilogy doesn't skip a beat & maintains the pace of the first book which is great. A bit repetitive at times which kind of stalls the momentum a bit. It ends on a bit of a cliffhanger so yes, onto book three I go (at 2am!)... ;)
A brilliant second book! I fell in love with the first but this completely took over my life. Its a truly magnificent read and I really recommend buying it. I'm so glad I did. I just need to buy the next! :D
the book is just like the first book i read. it still filled with mystery, and also confusion. Morgan is still trapped in the other strange world. she also still trapped in that camp. she cant get out. but shes determined not to give up.
Loved this book. Now I have to wait for number three to come out. I was looking forward to Megan reuniting with her family and her friend to experience her world but-----
