Though all 4 books in this series were free when I came across them, this first book I just could not get through. I stopped reading around the 28% mark of the book.
Author's writing was just not my bend.. And her overuse of British slang here, left me confused most of the time as to what these folks were actually talking about..
Also, the heroine was way too butch/abrasive, personality wise and just too unrelatable for me.. And she was clearly VERY unstable, mentally and emotionally as well..
The cover and title to this book leads you to believe the Reaper is a male, but it's her, the female lead that's actually called Reaper.. And I still had yet to even meet the possible MMC of this book by the time I stopped reading at the 28% mark.. Though there were tons of other males taking center stage here..
Author also throws tons of different people at you all at once. Names, personalities, dialogue everything.. Lots of talking but no one is saying anything of importance.. So you're left with tons of different scenarios happening and dialogue, but no order to the madness you're witnessing..
I am not returning to this book or the others in this series.
But I'm certainly seeing why all 4 books 📚 were free, at the time I came across them, though. I think the best thing about these books are the covers. They're all done incredibly well.
