There is a lady who needs the help of the great warrior. She cast a spell and conjured The Warrior. Only, this one belongs in the football field, not in the castle courtyard.

This book reminds me of old historical romance.

Most of the time, in a time travel romance (at list one I have read) the heroine from modern-day, go in past and meat medieval hero, warlord or even king.
In this, however, modern day star quarterback millionaire is sent back in medieval Scotland and must become the hero.

He doesn't have any idea how to hold the sword, even less how to fight with one, but he learns. He is honorable, brave but no fullish, nice man, and hero in the heart. He is a protector, a leader but not over the top alpha.

I like him!

Of course, in case you wonder, he saves the day in the end. Camon guys, this is historical romance, time travel, stand-alone book; there must be the happy end...

The heroine is smart, strong, kind, you name it!
She brought him in her time to become the champion and give him her sword and also her love and her body. (Bonus he didn't mind at all!!!)

Sadly this was not for me. It sounded interesting when i read the blurb, but it ended up being boring and meh-ish. The characters just weren`t interesting enough to hold my attention. Sadly.

A medieval fiction story like you have never read before. The premise seems all too familiar - an Evil would be leader usurps power while the King is off doing glory. This Evil - Roderick - has kidnapped Ana's mother and demands a rare sword as the price of her freedom. Ana needs a champion to beat him in a tournament and conjures one. Here we get the turn and twist - no historic Irish champion, how about the QB of a Super Bowl-winning team from the 21st century?

The originality of the premise sold me on reading and reviewing this book and I wasn't disappointed! The journey of Mac from QB to warrior in the 13th century is compelling. The battle scenes are brilliantly written. The romance in the book keeps the reader excited.

Brilliantly written, flows perfectly. I had difficulty putting the book down. You just have to know what happens next. Magic, mayhem, treachery, and trust. This book has it all. If you want to read a rip-roaring adventure set in the 13th century, this book is for you. I recommend it to every fan of Braveheart or Robin Hood. A fantastic read and one that is hard to stop reading until it is over.

A Champion for Ana

Mac is pulled through time to be the champion for Ana and her mother. The tale unfolds as a modern day football champion attempts to learn the skills required to win the challenges over a three day period. Sword play, jousting are just the beginning of the skills he’ll need to save them all. Great read... I really enjoyed the story and felt transported back in time along with Mac. Highly recommend.

Adequate time travel of a professional football player drawn back 700 years to become a champion in a medieval challenge. Well-developed characters but I struggled to believe he could overcome swordsman who had years of skill training and he had only months

The Quest is an amusing story about Mac, a professional football player, who gets pulled back to fourteenth century Scotland by Ana, a healer with magical powers, to serve as her champion and free her mother from prison.

I found the characters a bit two-dimensional -- Mac is too good to be true, a perfect hero, good looking, strong, courageous, respectful to women, with few, if any, flaws and Ana is an independent and beautiful woman, whose main drive is to save her mother and to heal people, a perfect heroine, with few, if any, flaws.

And, of course, as expected, Mac and Ana fall in love. They spend a lot of time during their courtship and love affair complementing each other -- which is understandable because they are both so perfect.
