I personally think bugs are gross but in terms of a book from an educational perspective, this book has beautiful pictures (of bugs, really?) and the technival names of the insects. Being that this series of books is about learning to read, for the technical names of the insects, there should maybe be a phonetical spelling in parenthesis next to the names to help with pronunciation. I had a hard time with them so I can only imagine a child learning to read.
