Luke Archer and Summer Merrick have always been the It-Couple at Roseville High. When Luke breaks up with Summer at the beginning of senior year, Summer reveals that she has been cheating on Luke with Paul Walden, Luke’s best friend. Angry and betrayed, Luke decides to get revenge, and he enlists the help of Jamie Vandeviere, a girl who has always been invisible to the popular crowd. Their goal is to transform Jamie into the most popular girl at school and take down Summer’s position as Queen Bee. However, being popular turns out to be a lot more difficult than what Jamie had in mind. What exactly has she gotten herself into?
Plot: This all started when Luke and Summer the "it" couple and Summer admits that she has been cheating on him for the past 6 months with one of his best friends Paul. And he wants to get revenge on Summer and the only thing that truly matters to Summer is her popularity, and being the "it" girl of the school and when Luke meets Jamie, when Jamie accidentally hits him with her car that's when Luke asked her for her help with getting back at Summer by taking her popularity from her it takes some convincing from her friends, but soon Jamie agrees with a little motivation from her friends. And it works and Adam Luke's other best friend asked her out and she said yes and soon Luke realises he has feelings for her, but she doesn't know. And what happens if the popularity gets to her head will this all come back and blow up in her face or does she never let the popularity get to her, but then Summer finds out what is really happening.
Personal Response: It was a good book but you might think it's predictable. I'll admit I thought that too but I still gave it a chance and yes there's some parts where it is predictable, but the author still makes it interesting then there's part that will just shock you over all it was a really good book.
Recommendation: I would recommend this to high school and up mainly cause of the cursing and violence but its a really good book and I think that mainly girls would be into that sort of book
