Overall, I think this is a cute, funny and sweet short story. I loved how it made me feel excited for Christmas (which is in two days, ahhhh!) and I really like the characters. The story is well written and I absolutely loved its last lines, because they were adorable. It's not my favourite story ever, but I did like reading it, that's for sure!

One of my reading goals for 2021 is to try and clear my ebooks and read the older titles instead of buying new ones and I have found a few gems that I have had sitting on the devices for a while. Christmas Catch was part of a NA series where authors had written a Christmas Novella. In most small towns, if you stay you are going to be barefoot and pregnant and have a tribe of your own if you are a female and often the men are stuck in dead-end jobs. In this smalltown, two teens couldn't wait to see it in their rearview mirror as they were escaping. Ivy always wanted something bigger than small-town life like her family and the only thing she regretted was breaking up with her boyfriend Sawyer who was also onto big things like training to become a Doctor. Fast forward a few years and neither has stepped back in town until now as Sawyer's dad has just died and so Sawyer is back helping his mum and trying to run and figure out his Dad's business and Ivy's mother wants a full-family Christmas and so Ivy is back for Christmas break. Of course, you can guess what happens when Ivy and Sawyer run into one another, especially since they both have pent-up energy and unresolved feelings for one another. Christmas Catch was a cutesy second chance romance read and perfect for those in the mood for something light.

This short and sweet read got me in the mood for Christmas! I've read it on a rainy evening and it brought me the wish for snow, decorated tree and cinnamon scented candles. That's something, because I don't usually like winter.

I loved Chelsea's writing style ever since I've read Deeper We Fall and I try to keep up with her new releases as much as I can. She knows how to take advantage of her character's feelings and presents them in many different ways, so that in the end you'll feel like you know them better than you know yourself :)))

Christmas Catch didn't disappoint me at all. I have nothing to complain about it other than the fact that it's short and I didn't get enough. I enjoyed the family atmosphere, the characters and the love story but I would have loved to find out more about Sawyer and Ivy's past together.

Even if I did get Ivy's reason to leave the small town and look for a greater future, I can't agree with the fact that she didn't want to keep in touch with them. I don't want to over analyze it, though. I loved Sawyer and that's enough reason to recommend this novella.

Happy reading!

"Places are like time capsules, I think. Right now I'm transported to two years ago when Sawyer and I used to sit here under this blanket and watch the ocean and talk. Or sometimes we wouldn't. He's the only person I've ever met that I can be completely silent with and it's not awkward."

Ivy Emerson is a small-town girl who has spent the last couple years in New York City after escaping her small-town California upbringing. Now she finds herself back in her hometown after being guilted into coming home for the holidays by her mother. To make matters worse, she's run into her first love, Sawyer McCallister, the only person she is sad to have left behind. He's back in town after the death of his father. Suddenly, being home for the holidays isn't looking like such a bad option.
"Sawyer stares down at me and something shifts and then his lips are on my lips, like two magnets being drawn together. Can't stop it, can't fight it. Let it happen."

It's obvious from the minute they set eyes on each other again that their feelings for each other are still incredibly strong. The chemistry and sexual tension between them leaps from the pages. I adored both of these characters. I connected with Ivy immediately, but was able to see Sawyer's side of the story too. They were so obviously right for each other. I wanted them to stop fighting it and give in. The novella was incredibly well-written and I found myself simultaneously wanting to reach the end to see what happened and never wanting it to end. As much as I loved this as a novella, I would have loved it more as a full-length novel. There was just something about these characters.
"Not much has changed. The more time I spend with him, the more I realize that. They say time heals, but time doesn't make you forget."

This was a beautiful and heartwarming novella about true love and second chances. I found myself completely sucked into Ivy and Sawyer's story. This story made me really emotional. I guess it hit a little close to home. I loved the way their families rallied around them, realizing they belong together and trying to gently nudge them towards each other. There was a lot of emotion and passion in these 72 pages. I definitely had a case of the warm fuzzies when I finished it.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All quotes come from the review copy and may differ from the final version.

This is the first book I have read by Chelsea Cameron, and while it’s only a novella, I absolutely adored it. She has a unique writing style that I can’t quite describe but I’m over the moon with it. Chelsea did a great job with character development and I really enjoyed the plot.

Emerson grew up in a very small town and she couldn’t wait to get out and go off to college. When she left, she also broke it off with her high school sweetheart, Sawyer who was going to another school. After not being home for the holidays in 2 years, Emerson comes back to town and runs right into Sawyer. All of the feelings she pushed aside come rushing back and she may have the second chance she didn’t even realize she was looking for.

I liked Emerson, a lot. She is confident, smart and she’s got this feisty attitude. She reminds me a lot of myself and I really connected with her. Growing up in a small town, every one dreams of getting out and do bigger things. Emerson is no different and she works her tail off to get accepted to Columbia and moves to the city. She feels like an outcast in her family because no one understands why she doesn’t want to stay in small town Maine, get married and pop out a bunch of kids. It’s obvious she has a bit of a strained relationship with her family but they just love her and miss her. She slowly comes to realize how much she actually misses them too. Her mom is hilarious and she’s always coming up with ways to push Emerson and Sawyer back together.

Sawyer is sweet and it is clear that he is still in love with Emerson and he still wants to be with her. Emerson isn’t quite over Sawyer yet and every time she sees him again, all the feels come rushing back in. Her resolve to stay away from him slowly melts with each chance meeting and all it takes is for Sawyer to stand up and fight. I loved how he challenged her and helped her see what she was missing out on by staying away from home. His life was changing but he wasn’t asking Emerson to give up her dreams, just to change them and accommodate for other things, including him. Emerson was easy to convince, especially by the swoony Sawyer.

Even though this is a short novella, I enjoyed just as much as a full length book. I found the depth of the plot fantastic for a novella and I could easily connect with Emerson and get a sense of who she was as a character. I’m excited to read a full length book by Chelsea Cameron if this is what she can do with a novella.

So I loved this one. LOVED! This was exactly what I needed in a Christmas novella: steam, a bit of angst, love, and holiday cheer! I am really into the whole idea of rekindling a romance after being separated. However, Ivy does not make this easy. Her entire life the plan has been simple: get out of Saltwater, Maine. She dreads going back home for Christmas- yet her mother begs for her to come home so they can all be together again. Reluctantly, Ivy agrees and finds that things are exactly as she left them, save for the boy she left behind. Of course the one person she actually didn't want to get away from is the one she would run into first.

I really liked Sawyer. He's a good guy who has gotten dealt some rather unfortunate hands. He was hurt deeply when Ivy decided they should end things before parting ways to attend school. Now, they keep running into one another and the tension between them is high. Ivy is genuinely sorry for how she left things with him, yet she knows she is not there to stay and neither one can survive the heartache again. Things with Ivy and Sawyer were awesome when they were together. I don't think ending things with him were really what she wanted, but she really felt as if she had no other choice. Both were going to different schools and it's hard to hold on to that high school love when you know you will be separated.

Ivy's family, while a bit crazy, really do love her and want what's best for her. Even if that means playing matchmaker! I love how Ivy's mom meddles and sticks her nose in her and Sawyer's business.

"Why doesn't she just shove the two of us in my room, lock the door and tell us that we're not allowed out until we've re-consummated our relationship? Actually, it wouldn't shock me if she did that."

Ivy and Sawyer left things unresolved, unsettled. Neither have them have been able to move on because they both still care about the other. Ivy is definitely stubborn, but the heart wants what the heart wants and she needs to stop thinking so much and just feel.

Overall, this is a really cute read not only about two people finding their way back to one another, but also about a girl discovering that maybe there really is no place like home.

Loved this book!
It was a very cute and sweet, fun read with great characters. Ivy left her small hometown of Saltwater without looking back includingSawyer. After 2 years, her mother has convinced her to come home to visit family for Christmas and Ivy is dredding it. She is instantly reminded of why she left small town life upon driving through town and has a chance encounter with Sawyer. After encounter after encounter, Ivy begins to question her jaded view of her hometown and question other things. What becomes of her Christmas home from Columbia?
I could relate a lot to Ivy. I had the same opinion of my hometown... hell still kind of do... but you learn to miss some things. Sawyer was pretty awesome too. I felt for his circumstances for returning home. This short story/novella was very well paced and written. It didn't go way too fast nor did it feel as though things were unreal or hard to believe or left out. It was a very sweet story of someone openning their eyes to see what was really around them and a story of rediscovering lost love. I also loved the Christmas theme to the story. I'm not big on Christmas stories because sometimes the "Christmas Magic" is just way too cheesy for me at times. Things can just come off way too unrealistically all in the name of Christmas Spirit. This one not at all. I loved how Ivy's family was together and including Sawyer's was sweet and really captured the small town life. I cannot stress how mucb I loved this novella. At all. It made me miss home, lol.

This novella is a part of the 12 NA’s of Christmas and I fell in love with it from the first page. It’s not only a short read, but an intriguing one. I didn’t want it to end!

I loved the circumstances in which Ivy and Sawyer are pushed back into each other lives. Though the reasoning behind Sawyer’s return to town is not ideal in any situation, the spontaneity of it all is destined by fate. Watch them rekindle the relationship they once had was inspiring and I loved the way that Chelsea portrayed every detail and emotion within the story. She never disappoints in her writing and this is just another fantastic creation that she has published.

I definitely though it was a cute story that is well worth the short amount of time it takes to read. For those that want a quick escape from reality with the lack of commitment to an entire book series; this is the book for you.

After two years, Ivy Emerson is going to her small town for Christmas.

When she finished high school, she left everything behind and went to college without looking back.

The first person she saw when she came back was him. Sawyer, the only guy who has her heart.

Sawyer McCallister´s heart was broken when the girl he loved broke up with him and left him.

They spend a lot of time together remembering what happened in the past and telling each other what happened in the last two years.

They both know that the feelings they had for each other are still alive. Ivy finally realized that even if they are in two different places, they don´t have to end they relationship. That they can make it work.

Sweet, cute, short read that will warm you heart in these cold days.

The problems with novella's, is that often it's difficult to truely care about the characters, and feel completely engrossed in the story, simply because of the short length. But not so here.

I was instantly captivated by Ivy's voice, and her story. I loved the portryal of a small town in Maine, her desire to be gone, her reluctance to be back home for Christmas, and of course the unexpected run in with her ex. It's a beautiful story, funny, heartfelt, and I read it in one sitting perfectly happily. It's got a great Christmas feel to it, with the stress and love that so often combine. But it's also a great, complete story, perfectly paced. I adored it. I just want more of these characters now!!

Do you ever get over your first love? Long distance relationships cant possibly last can they?

The snowflakes begin to melt when Ivy finds herself back in Sawyers arms. Sawyer has been miserable with his Ivy. He needs her like he needs the air he breathes. She took a piece of his heart when she left and he wants it back. Ivy cannot stand Saltwater, Maine. She hates the small town and can't stand how everyone is always butting into each others business. Ivy cant deny the feeling she has for Sawyer. There has been no one else in her life since she left.

Can their love survive the distance?

Novellas are always really hit or miss for me. Sometimes the length is just not enough to do a story justice and they end up feeling rushed or incomplete. But I really love a holiday novella, because they are usually just the perfect amount of holiday spirit to really get me in the mood. Christmas Catch by Chelsea M. Cameron was short and sweet and I really enjoyed reading about these two great characters. I am so glad that I read this novella because it was extremely well written and a very fun read.

Two years ago, Ivy left her small hometown for Columbia determined to have more out of life than a small town future. The only thing that she was sad to leave behind was Sawyer. But she knew that things would never work out with him going to Georgetown and her at Columbia, so she decided to end things before they fell apart. Now her mom has convinced her to return home for Christmas, and as she is on her way into town she ends up swerving to avoid hitting a deer and ends up with her car in the ditch. The first person to drive by and offer help happens to be Sawyer. Ivy ends up running into him several times, and they finally begin to talk about what happened when they broke up. The connection and feelings are still strong between them, and they realize that just because they broke up doesn't mean that things are over. With both of their families determined to see them together, Sawyer and Ivy begin spending time together. Will they realize that love is worth fighting for and try to make things work?

I really liked Sawyer. He was sweet and thoughtful and was willing to sacrifice everything to help his mom out after his father died. I loved how he remembered everything that Ivy liked and he seemed to never have stopped caring about her. I thought it was really great that he knew her so well despite their time apart. He was just a really likable hero that you couldn't help but root for. I liked Ivy a lot too. Even though she had made a bad decision to break up with Sawyer and lost touch with everyone after moving, you could tell that she was doing what she thought she needed to. She was determined to make a better life for herself and didn't want anything to stand in her way. I think that even though it seemed sort of rash to give up everything without even trying, that a lot of that was just her age and her trying to protect herself. Sawyer and Ivy were great together though, and you could tell that they really belonged together. They had great chemistry and were a really sweet couple.

I also really enjoyed reading about the unique and fun holiday traditions that Ivy's family had. I thought that they were really interesting and they really made the story a great holiday read. My one complaint about this book is that I wasn't ready for it to be over. I felt like Ivy and Sawyer had a nice ending in this story. But because of the length I was left wanting more of them and wanting to see what happened in the future for them. I would love to read more about Sawyer and Ivy and I hope that maybe the author will write another story around these two. I just have to know what happens now and in the future for them! Sawyer and Ivy were definitely worth reading about, and I would highly recommend this story to anyone looking for a sweet and satisfying holiday romance story. This one will put you in the holiday spirit and leave you smiling.

REVIEW:
The story:
After graduating from high school, Ivy was quick to make her escape from her small hometown to go off the college. But this Christmas she's making a reluctant return home. Bumping into her old high school boyfriend, Sawyer, that she left behind, wasn't on the top of her Christmas wish list, but in a town this small is was bound to happen. And they both quickly realise that the sparks are still very much there.

With the help of their loving and meddling families, they find themselves spending a lot of time together over the holidays, reminding them just how much they've missed each other.

The characters:
Ivy may have been against going home at the beginning, but after catching up with her family and Sawyer, she starts to see what she's been missing while away at college. I liked that she learned to appreciate her family and her relationship with Sawyer.

Sawyer is such a sweetie, he works hard at his family's business, even though it's not what he wanted to do. He's strong & committed, but around Ivy he seems a lot younger and more innocent, which I really loved.

The romance:
Who doesn't love a sweet story of old high school sweethearts rekindling their romance! I loved watching them get to know each other as adults and realise that they're still in love. They recreate some of the little traditions they had as kids and it was so cute! And Sawyer's nickname for Ivy - 'Poison' was really sweet!

The Writing:
Chelsea managed to create a realistic and believable history to the characters and their relationships - not just between Ivy & Sawyer, but also with their families. And to have that in a novella was excellent!

FINAL WORD:
I loved this story, it gave me that warm and toasty feeling, while still be a little sexy too! If your a fan of NA romance, pick this one up for a fun festive read!

CONTENT:
Sexuality: medium / sex scene
Violence: none
Language: medium / occasional f word
Drugs & alcohol: mild

It’s official – I love Chelsea Cameron, she can do no wrong :) Christmas Catch captures the spirit of Christmas perfectly between it’s pages; the feel of camaraderie and belonging even when you aren’t with your family. Traditions and celebrations aid the imagery and dynamic of the story. The spirit of happiness and joy emanates through the pages.

Told in first person narrative from Ivy’s perspective. Having escaped her small town upbrining she is loath to go back, exasperated by the fact that she has to share her flight with her high school crush, Sawyer *swoon*. Ivy is a true romantic but has an idealistic picture of how a relationship should be in her mind and no-one has been able to live up to her expectations. She is truly a girl after my own heart, except I live in reality, lol. Ivy has dedicated her live to romance, her job as a food blogger encompasses all things love involving food :)

Fate/destiny steps in by throwing Ivy and Sawyer together via a series of catastrophic yet completely hilarious incidents. As an outside observer, you can immediately see how perfect Ivy and Sawyer are for each other and how their interactions now and as teens had been misconstrued on both sides, but mainly through Sawyer’s teasing :) They are drawn to each other like magnets.

Ivy has spent so long fighting for her ideal lifestyle that she has forgotten who she is at heart and the things that are really important to her. As the story progresses and Ivy’s eyes are opened to the reality of her lifestyle, she realises that it doesn’t have to be all or nothing; life is about balance and compromise. Ivy’s realisation paves the way for long overdue honesty between Sawyer and herself, fuelling the flames ;)

I became so invested in the characters I couldn’t bear to let them go; wondering what would become of their relationship when they finally made it home. So much so that I lamented via twitter to Chelsea. You know what lovelies, there is going to be another story featuring Ivy and Sawyer *happy dances* THANK YOU CHELSEA *hugs*

Ivy Emerson grew up in a small tiny fishing village in Maine and she couldn't wait to leave. After graduating as the valedictorian of her 10 classmates she packed up and left behind her family and her boyfriend for Columbia University. Two years later her overbearing Mother begs her to come home for the holidays where she ends up running back into her first love, Sawyer McCallister. Will the holiday joy convince Ivy that home is where the heart is?

Ivy is definitely torn. She loves going to school at Columbia but she misses her family and her small town (even if she won't admit it to herself). She also misses Sawyer (which she also won't admit to herself). He is her one and only love. He hasn't forgotten her or how much he loved her. It was just so sweet to read about Ivy and Sawyer reconnect with their past via their inside jokes and memories. They were two peas in a pod growing up and the two years apart hasn't changed them much. They still fit together like a glove. There was just enough laughter and love to balance them out.

I love Christmas stories. For some reason, books about the holidays just warm my heart. Big family get togethers and traditions are so uplifting. Ivy's family was a joy to read about. They were fun, quirky, and loving. The small town antics and matchmaking between the families was hilarious. I loved the little nuances of the small town fishing village, too. The story was touching and heartfelt. It was warm and cozy. The perfect read for a cold winter's day in front of the fire place! 4 Stars for Christmas Catch! Enjoy!

Posted on What I'm Reading

I love reading small town stories for a couple reasons: 1) They remind me that my town isn't that small where everybody knows your business. 2) They usually are fun to read, because everybody knows your business. There is also two types of people that live in the small town: 1) People who want to get out of dodge and never look back. 2) Those who will always stay in the town they grew up in and never dream of leaving.

Ivy is your let's get out of dodge kind of gal. She felt growing up in her small town stymie and she had big plans of leaving and never looking back. However, that's kind of hard when your family is still there. Honestly you can't really cut them off, because they are family. I guess you could, but that's an awfully lonely way to live. Yet, she never thought she would see the guy she left again, but life has a funny way of throwing curve balls.

Basically, the story is about Ivy reconnecting to her past and seeing that her past is part of her no matter what. Sometimes we want to forget that, but that's just not possible. So, we have past lovers that reunite. Honestly, they probably shouldn't have broken up in the first place, but Ivy was afraid. Funny how being afraid usually plays a part in these like this. It's always great to have reunions around Christmas times. Overall, I thought this was a nice little read center around Christmas. So, if you are looking for a quick little christmas read, you might want to try Christmas Catch.

Christmas Catch is a short, fun novella. Ivy Emerson had one goal when she got out of high school and that was to get out of the small fishing town she'd grown up in, Saltwater Maine. She left the small town behind to attend Columbia University. She also left the boy she loved and a piece of her heart behind, believing that was for the best, leaving the town and all its memories in the past. Now two years later and she's home for Christmas, and who's the first person she runs into but that same boy, Sawyer McAllister. When Ivy left for Columbia, Sawyer left for Georgetown. Unfortunately, family circumstances have landed Sawyer back in Saltwater, and as fate and Ivy's mom would have it, circumstances keep throwing Ivy and Sawyer in each other's paths while she's there. Ivy realizes that leaving town doesn't cause love to die after all, and that sometimes the things you think you're looking for aren't what you expected.

Christmas Catch is a sweet, sexy novella about two small town high school sweethearts who realize that time and distance can't snuff out love's flame, no matter how hard you try. Sometimes dreams and your perception of them change, and with a little Christmas joy, you find that the greatest gifts have been there all along

I bought all of the 12 NA'a of Christmas because this time of year I need quick stories/novellas to read and I wanted to try some new-to-me authors. The first 4 I read were all misses just based on personal preferences. This one was a little better.

I will say that I didn't like the main character Ivy initially. She came across as a younger teen than someone around 20. She was whiny, self centered and a runner. Runners are those characters that run when things get hard or stressful and I struggle with those types of characters in books because they aren't my favorite. But she does become a little more likable as the story progresses. The book did drag for me at the beginning since we are in her head and I didn't care for her initial voice. But the story picked up as she got to be more likable. It's probably not realistic for the frame of time but I was fine with it.

I did like that the end was happy but not tied up with a bow. It wouldn't have fit the story if it had been too tidily ended. I also liked that this book was a little less graphic than the first NA's of Christmas that I read. I prefer fade to black scenes with only rare exceptions. I haven't decided yet if I'll check out more of this author's work.

PROSE: I actually have read one of Cameroon's Books already. So I knew I would most probably enjoy her prose . And I did. Cameroon's writing style crisp and straight forward. She manages to make one get a feel for a place, she paints moments beautifully without being to frilly or melodramatic.

CHARACTER BUILDING: This was my favorite part of the novella. It was great. I loved the Saltwater inhabitants. Sawyer and Ivy have great chemistry. And I wouldn't mind revisiting Saltwater in a fulllengths novel.

PLOT: Was totally predictable. It's a come home meet old flame story.
BUT who cares? It was cute and fluffy at it's best! I laughed and grinned and felt all warm and fuzzy!
There are some really great moments and the smut was pretty good as well. A light and sweet read

Cameroon has definitely established herself in my cute and fluffy author list. I am looking forward to her next book!

I had this novella on my Kindle for almost a year. I almost read it a few times, but figured it was best left to be read closer to the holiday season. I think, now having finished it, that it was a good decision. Even as a person who doesn’t celebrate the holidays much, it had a lighthearted, good-time cheer to it that I needed with winter settling on around me.

Like other Cameron books I’ve read, there’s a great sense of place in Christmas Catch. As usual I felt connected with the setting of this small town in Maine. I also felt a good connection with Ivy, the main character, with her attitude toward her hometown; the good and the bad. I feel that this added to my uncertainty of the story’s outcome, as well. For a story without too much depth, this was a welcomed uncertainty.

Christmas Catch was just what I needed to read this time of year. Even if I didn’t feel it’s in the same league as Cameron’s novels that I’ve read so far, it’s still a great read since ultimately I base a book on itself. If the author writes more about Ivy and Sawyer, I’ll be sure to read it.

Christmas catch is the story of Ivy and Sawyer. Ivy leaves where she grew up, not wanting to ever return, but does come back for Christmas. She runs into Sawyer and that first meeting is a bit awkward. Then because it is a small town, they continue to run into each other. Ivy is determined that she is not going to be shackled to this town though in any way, shape, or form.

It was a very quick read for me (72 pages) and I thought it was incredibly sweet.

I had some LOL moments, literally laughing at loud. I even read the present scene to my almost 15 year old son. (That is the only scene I read to him, there is a little bit of hot and steamy in here.) He heard me laughing and seeing as his siblings were asleep, he wanted to know what was going on. So, I read it to him. Now he is pretty sure he needs to do the same thing.

I loved it.

Chelsea always make me smile when I am reading her books.

This is a great book to sit down and enjoy when you don’t have a lot of time while you are planning on the holiday festivities!

I am a sucker for all things romance and all things Christmas so this book did not disappoint. Who doesn't like a quick, easy holiday second chance romance?

With only 72 pages you dive head first into the story and quickly become hooked. Basically it is the story of young love that ends because of certain circumstances and the unresolved feelings that linger. Neither Emerson or Sawyer have truly forgotten or gotten over each other. When Emerson comes home for Christmas is seems that numerous things planned and unplanned bring them face to face. You can feel the heat and chemistry rolling off each page.

Although somewhat predictable it is a very cute, sexy holiday novella. With such a short book I don't want to say much of anything else for fear of giving anything away so I will leave it at that.

Tapi saya selalu suka gaya penceritaan mbak Chelsea. Dan novella ini cukup memuaskan saya.

I love it!! Right in time for Christmas, this is such a cute, hot read. A story of not only first love, but also true love, after breaking up before going to separate colleges, when Ivy goes home for Christmas, she and Sawyer are thrown back together by small town dynamics and you can feel the heat! Neither one of them have truly gotten over the other, and after continuously running into each other, either by coincidence or by scheming family members, how long can they hold out?? Over Red Vines, Rice Crispy treats, a game of pencil cross bows, and one hell of a way to wake up Christmas morning they start to realize that their love is something worth fighting for.

Christmas Catch is a fun, quirky story that can be read for the holidays or any other time of the year. I'd definitely recommend this to everyone!!

Like I've said before, I have a love/hate relationships with novellas. And I LOVED this one. It was cute, sweet, with some sexy!

Two years ago, high school sweethearts Sawyer and Ivy went to two different, but not before breaking up. Now, Ivy is back and can't wait to get the heck out of there.

I really liked this story. Even though it was a novella, it didn't feel like anything was missing. The pacing was perfect and the love between Ivy and Sawyer was believable. Nothing in this story felt rushed. Another thing that I loved was Ivy's humor. And Sawyer? I LOVED him!! Their families trying to play matchmakers was also hilarious.

Overall, I loved this novella and put me in the mood for Christmas.

This was a sweet novella! I fell very quickly for Ivy and her family, and for the relationship between Ivy and Sawyer.

I’d actually love to read this story in full-length novel form, because then I’d get to spend even more time with the characters and get even more details and back story. However, what we’re given here is pretty great. I loved the history between Ivy and Sawyer, and how it couldn’t help but be repeated. I also enjoyed the open happy ending. There’s the promise of something good, and a reassurance that the characters will have their happily ever after, even if you don’t know the specific details of how.

A very fun Christmas novella, well worth checking out.
