In the Shade is a 380-page Kirk/Spock slash novel written by Jenna Sinclair and published by Beyond Dreams Press in 2005. It is the third novel, or 14th and final installment in the Sharing the Sunlight series. It features illustrations by Suzan Lovett.

The novel is split into six parts:
1. Prologue: In the Sun
2. Clotho: The Spinner of the Threads of Life
3. Lachesis: The Dispenser of Lots
4. Antropos: The Inexorable One
5. Fahtima: The One Unknown
6. Epilogue: In the Shade
(7. Addendum: Love and Fate)
