Bianca Sloane is the author of the suspense novels, "Killing Me Softly" (previously published as "Live and Let Die") chosen as "Thriller of the Month" (May 2013) by e-thriller.com and a "2013 Top Read" by OOSA Online Book Club and "Sweet Little Lies." She is a member of Sisters in Crime and Crime Writers of Color. When she's not writing, she's watching Bravo TV, Investigation Discovery, reading or cooking. Sloane resides in Chicago.
I actually was really enjoying this book. Like Sloane's debut novel, Killing Me Softly,Sweet Little Lies starts off pretty straightforward, then it picks up and starts going in a direction that has you wondering how it'll end.
BUT. What we not gon' do is demonize and dehumanize fat, ghetto Black women! The MC is a lightskinned model who is just so misunderstood and everyone is so jealous of her beauty and intellect and we're supposed to feel sorry for her cus her man was cheating on her with his ex-wife/baby mama, a giant ghetto slob. Please. The anti-Blackness, the fatphobia, it really jumped out. And it's too much. I'm really disappointed in how Sloane wrote these characters. As into the plot as I was, the terribly written women make it a no from me. Not worth finishing.
Sweet Little Lies by Bianca Sloane is sassy, thrilling and a writing job damn well done!
After reading Bianca Sloane's previous book,
Live and Let Die I was waiting for this one for what felt like forever. (It really wasn't that long, I am just impatient.) Still, this book was more than worth the wait.
From the very beginning, this novel starts out with a bang. The main character is a likeable heroine that has been wronged and reacts to the situation she finds herself in just the same that any woman would.
One of the things that I truly love about this book is the fact that the main character was so easy for me to identify with. Her determination, wit and intelligence was felt rather than just read as one dimensional words on paper (or in this case screen.) I love it when you find a character that you could see yourself being, making the decisions you would make and really get a complete sense of who they are.
This book not only impressed me, but wowed me. That doesn't happen very often. The suspense you feel while waiting to see what happens next will leave you waiting with bated breath, eager to turn the page. This was a book that kept me up most of one night and all of the next morning because the story was so fast paced and exciting that I couldn't stand not having it before me.
The ending was entirely unexpected! I thought I saw where it was going, but once again, the author wrote above my expectations. Fantastic!
Bianca Sloane is a rare talent. This woman can write! If you have not checked out her books yet you are doing yourself a disservice. I am once again, waiting for the next book.
I could not put this book down. It was well written with plot twists. Every time I thought I had it figured out, there would be a twist. I highly recommend this book...but only if you can read it cover to cover in one sitting.
Sweet Little Lies is another fabulous roller coaster of a read from Bianca Sloane.
What would you do if you found out your husband had been unfaithful?
Divorce him? Take him back?
Kill him?
Kelly chose option three for her husband Mark and it's on the day that she kills him that we first meet her. Kelly is a former supermodel who now has her own cosmetics company, her husband Mark is a highly successful sports lawyer and they are besotted with each other, so why would Mark be unfaithful?
After killing Mark, Kelly flees the scene but it's not long until the police are on her tail and we follow Kelly as she tries to unravel Mark's secrets while at the same time playing a dangerous game of cat and mouse with Detective Bill Hanson.
Bianca Sloane is one hell of a story teller. I know that everytime I pick up one of her novels I'm going to be rendered useless until I've got to the end and this one is no exception. Ms Sloane has perfectly portrayed Kelly as a woman scorned and the lengths she will go to to protect herself as well as friends and family until she finds out the truth. This is another fast paced thriller that will have you racing to reach the end and I can't wait for the next novel.
With kind thanks to author Bianca Sloane for the review copy.
One of the best #books I've ever read is "Sweet Little Lies" by #BiancaSloane. I not only enjoyed reading this gripping tale but also composing my #review of it.
From the 2015 RCE #archives: To feature at The Review Period with Cat Ellington for 14 days!
The characters in this book had me on edge. I could not put this book down. The set-up was smooth. The introduction of Geneva makes you dislike her before learning more about her. Once I reached the end of the book, I realized all of this happened because of a misunderstanding and that lying, conniving Geneva.
I was team Kelly and I loved the cat and mouse games she played with the cops. The ending threw me off because I was not expecting it, which I did like. This book had suspense, action, mystery, drama, along with supposed betrayal and psychological elements. It was so worth reading.
Bianca Sloane has become one of my favorite thriller writers. She doesn't disapppoint and her characters have depth even though they are crazy as heck.
After discovering this author, I was completely blown away! I could not get enough. I had to read every book that she had written. I was on a roller coaster ride that I didn’t want to get off, Bianca Sloane is Amazing! Her books will take over your whole being and will not let go until the very last page. Job perfectly done Ms Sloane I cannot wait until your next book is done. You most definitely have a Gift, thank you so much for Sharing!
Ms Sloane you have a new fan. I love how this book came out hitting hard in the beginning had several twist and turns all the way up till the very end. Screen play worthy. There was several high and lows to this suspense drama. I was not expecting that ending I thought it was going to be cudddlier boy was I surprised
This was the best book ever, I recommend it to everyone and you will not be disappointed. It takes you on a ride of twist and turns, new highs never to disappoint. Amazing!
This is definitely different from your usual murder mystery. For one thing you know who did it from the start and the main character comes across as shallow and unlikeable. The route to get us to this outcome is convoluted to say the least. The ending is incredibly depressing. Definitely different.
I was caught up in the moment after I finished reading this book so now that I've had time to really think about it and get feedback from others I've changed my rating. There were so many parts that just didn't make sense and were so far fetched it's hard to even relate. All the characters were so annoying and way to dramatic.
In Bianca Sloane's latest novel, Sweet Little Lies, Kelly Ross Monroe seemingly has it all. She's a former super model with her own cosmetic's company, Runway. She's been married to Mark Monroe, the highly successful and incredibly handsome sport's lawyer, for three years. Their life in Chicago is one that most people can only just dream about - until Kelly finds evidence that Mark has been cheating on her... and the act occurred in her own bed. Kelly throws the scumbag's clothes into suitcases and garbage bags, leaving the evidence she found on top of the pile of Mark's things.
Throwing Mark out didn't go exactly as planned. Mark is now dead and Kelly is on the run, trying to figure out what to do next and maybe find out who was the woman Mark was having the affair with. Much to her surprise, Mark had some awfully big secrets he was keeping hidden from her and Kelly feels that she must discover the truth about the man she married. But while Kelly is trying to unravel the truth, there is breaking news on the case that surprises both Kelly and the detectives searching for her.
Once again, Bianca Sloane has written a fast-paced mystery that is the perfect choice for some exciting reading escapism. Kelly is a likeable character (even though she is a super-model, which almost could inspire an opposite emotion - just sayin'). She's practical, thoughtful, and resourceful. Each chapter tells the story or reveals more information through the point of view of several different characters, and some of the information revealed will surprise you.
There were a few flaws. I'm surprised Kelly was driving her car as much as she was, with her original license plates. I kept anticipating that she'd switch plates somewhere along the way. And while her many narrow escapes were surprising, I guess they were also understandable. Who would expect to see a fugitive from justice stopping by a Walgreen's? You'd be very likely to not realize that the customer really was HER until after she left. Or you'd vaguely recognize the name but not put the facts together (says the person who actually paged Brooke Shields while working at a restaurant many, many years ago.)
Currently you can pick up Sweet Little Lies by Bianca Sloane for .99 at Amazon, as well as her first novel Live and Let Die. I highly recommend giving her a try. Her novel Every Breath You Take should be coming out soon.

Heads up men there is nothing more deadly than a woman scorned. Cheating on the woman in your intimate relationships always turns out horribly. Love has two sides the bright and lackluster.
In Sweet Little Lies penned by poetic author Bianca Sloane will have readers sitting on the edge of their comfortable chair. Ms. Sloane has a awesome manner of bringing a highly intensive story line that is impossible for a reader to relax their grip on Sweet Little Lies. The story elements are crisp and exciting with the multiple twist and turns. The characters are developed to connect with the readership because it is easy to envision them as friends.
I enjoyed and relished every moment I spent with Ms. Sloane's characters, their personalities, emotional investment, environments, the inescapable web Ms. Sloane weaves which to me is as intricately formed by a black widow spider or a brown recluse.
Kelly Monroe has been married for a few years to a her lover, friend and husband Mark Monroe. Mark is a successful lawyer and Kelly is a beautiful former supermodel and the fantasy of both women and men. Mark does his dirty little deeds that end up costing him dearly. Those sweet little lies just does not add up once Kelly examines his stories and unravels his lies. Kelly is beautiful, very sharp and strategic in her pursuit of the wicked woman who with Mark's assistance ripped apart her loving marriage.
I strongly recommend Sweet Little Lies because it had me on the edge of my seat with the twist and turns deceptions in the marriage but also the police. I must go back and read her other novel Live and Let Die and I look forward to adding her to my favorite authors short list.
Sweet Little Lies will have you hungry for another well crafted book by Ms. Sloane.
Mark and Kelly are a happily married power couple. He’s a successful lawyer and she’s a former supermodel who owns her own cosmetics company. Everything about them screams love. That is until Kelly discovers a condom in their bed. He’s cheating! Before Mark can plead his case, Kelly has his things packed up and she’s ready to erase him from her life. In a blink of an eye, life changes drastically for them. Will there be a way to mend broken hearts?
Geneva Monroe is devastated. Her husband of ten years and father of their son has been murdered. She wants justice as well as every cent to the murderer’s name. It’s what her husband would’ve wanted her to do. Just as Geneva reveals herself to the world, she also allows her past to become public. Will she be able to stop the inevitable?
SWEET LITTLE LIES is the second book I’ve read by this author. I applaud her skill set for being able to put her fingerprints all over what could’ve been a very predictable storyline. While I was not all in in the beginning, as I peeled back the pages and got into the depth of the story, I found myself intrigued. Even as my fondness grew, there were still too many improbable pieces for my liking. Also, there were some missing words.
Sloane has a knack for drawing readers in. I look forward to her next release.
This was a pretty good story and my first book by this author. There were plenty of twists 'n' turns and just when you thought you'd got the whole thing "sussed" you learned you were way off the mark !! It did have the odd irritation, mainly the habit of describing the colour of everybody featured ! I found that just weird. White writers don't do this so I don't really understand why this author felt the need to. It was quite distracting. So was the amount of times we heard the terms spokesmodel-that got very repetitive. I found it odd that Hanson's partner would refer to her kid that way and not by his/her name since they were partners...and some of the black gangsta'-speak I couldn't get along with-I hate that stuff. There were the odd mistakes-once referring to Matt when the person's name was Nick and there were missing words in sentences like the/of/she then too used and not to and on accident not by accident. There were the odd apostrophes misused too. ALL credit for spelling discernible correctly though as 9 times out of 10 that's always wrong in e-books. I liked the character of Kelly a great deal. She was a sharp lady along with being a resourceful one. There was a lot of tragedy throughout, though, caused by one person's selfish actions.....like ripples across a lake. That was sad. I look forward to reading the next one by this author, though.
What a little gem of a book. Sweet Little Lies presented me with characters I cared about, and a plot twist I never expected. Bravo, Bianca Sloane!
I really enjoyed how this book unfolded. I was rooting for the main character, Kelly, every step of the way. She was tough, smart and wronged, and I wanted to see her have her day. What I never expected was to feel sympathy for some of the very characters I was set up to hate. The psychological aspects of the weaving of the plot were very well done.
What bothered me about the book was the leaps Kelly made in the beginning chapter. If I found what she found, and I were in what everyone considered a perfect marriage, I don't know that I would've reacted the way she did. I found her rush to conclusions melodramatic and unbelievable. I still think the author could've orchestrated the necessary plot point in a more realistic way, especially given how she allowed so many other things to deliciously unfold.
In spite of that, I'm hooked. I'm rooting for Bianca Sloane. I'm looking forward to her next book.

An interesting tale of how the past clouds the present and comes back to haunt you when you with hold the truth. I enjoyed the read though a few times it stretched the imagination. All in all, fairly well done.
This is the story of a woman who thinks her husband has lied to her (in some ways he did) and one thing leads to another until one is dead. It follows the distraught wife as she follows back on a trail of deceit and betrayal. Worth the read.[[ASIN:B00DIDACD6 Sweet Little Lies]]
I highly recommend this book. It was a fast paced gripping novel with quite a few twists and turns. Bianca has a marvelous writing style that keeps you turning the page. The mystery deepens from the very beginning and comes to a satisfying but shocking ending. I feel that anyone looking for a good thriller would be hard pressed to find a better one. I really didn’t find anything that bothered me with this book or was distracting. All the characters felt very real, like I could go to Chicago and really meet them. Thank you Bianca for writing such a wonderful novel. I look forward to reading more from you! This book is on the Green Embers’ Recommended List and is well worth the price of admission.
This electrifying thriller starts with a bang and keeps going. When Mark's wife Kelly finds a condom in their marital bed she concludes he's been cheating on her and kills him. After calling an ambulance she panics and goes on the run. Consumed by her curiosity to find out who her husband was having an affair with, Kelly embarks on an investigation that turns the notion that her husband was simply cheating on her on its head.
Although the main story was not predictable, I did guess the ending when I was 25 % into the book. Still it was a great read and Bianca Sloane remains one of my favourite Indie thriller authors.
This was just ok. Many twists in it which kept me guessing at what was really going on. But at the same time the characters were pretty annoying and the big secret was a bit too far fetched for my liking. All in all, it was a book that kept my interest, but not something horribly exciting or memorable.
This was good! Just when you think you have things figured out, here comes a new twist. Definitely not predictable. I could not put this down until Kelly found out all of Mark's secrets and I found out what would happen to Kelly. The ending was a big shock. I loved this and would recommend it to any thriller fan.
I finished this book a few days ago and still can't stop thinking about it, so that should tell you something! I think this will be one of the very few books I will read again to see if I can pick up any clues along the way to the surprising outcome of the story. This was so well written, I really felt I could relate. Can't wait to read Bianca Sloane's next one!!!!
I enjoyed reading this book and found the little twists and turns in the plot exciting, but quickly became disappointed as the book neared the climax and then the end. If the ending was better I would have given it 4 stars.
I would've given it 5 stars if there would've been more info about Kelly's trial and all that. But all in all, it's a good read. Have finished reading it in a day.
