Drôle d'histoire, celle d'une tribu dominée par le fantôme d'un grand-père passionné de catch et amoureux de son nouveau pays, l'Amérique, et par l'ombre d'un aïeul qui fit fortune dans le hareng. La narratrice, en victime amusée, se laisse aussi envahir par les vivants : une redoutable belle-mère, un beau-père qui ne pense qu'à sa carrière ratée de saxophoniste.
Bisbilles, trous de mémoire, petits secrets... Une saga originale et divertissante, en musique et avec poissons. On se souvient du précédent livre de Sylvie Weil, Chez les Weil, déjà un exercice de célébration ironique. Son père et sa tante, deux génies, en sortaient plus vivants et plus mystérieux. Ici encore, un monde palpite avec ses travers et ses bénédictions.

She was a professor of French literature and is the author of several award-winning works of fiction for adults and for young adults, including two novels published in the United States: My Guardian Angel and Elvina’s Mirror.
