Revelations! Or, more accurately, a chance for the author to give us free backstory through applied phlebotinum, deus ex machina style. So, a gem in Kara's hand allows her to see a limited glimpse of dino history. And everyone's psychic. And everyone's psychic abilities started manifesting in such a way that was essentially going to make their heads pop. Yikes.

Interesting to see how this story is developing overall though.
