Desiree Wilder is a small town girl from South Dakota who daydreams a lot and writes it all down at the end of the day. A nudge and one step in the right direction was all it took for her to discover that she could pull characters out of her head and make them say and do whatever she wanted them to on paper.
Her first series, Losing Control, published under Limitless Publishing, was the beginning of Desiree’s newfound creative outlet. She started safe and slow, unsure of what she wanted to share with the world for fear of being rejected or misunderstood, but by the time she finished the third book, Total Control, she’d found the confidence to write it exactly as she saw it. It was powerful and convinced her to write a spin-off, Sean, in which she pushed her limits even further.
As she delves into the unknown world of self-publishing for her second series, the Phoenix Four, she welcomes the opportunity to personally make her vision come to life. Book one, Emilee, promises to be a sexy, funny, yet emotional look into the lives of four women who met in college, and became sisters for life. Unquestionably her best work to date, Desiree is extremely proud of it.
When Desiree isn’t writing, she loves to shop, cook, camp, and sit on the tailgate with people who make her laugh. Music inspires her and is a big part of her everyday life. Her very close family is her strength and her biggest supporters.

"I wanted to feel sexy, I wanted to be under the influence, I wanted the music loud, I wanted to flirt and tease, I wanted the guys to look at me and to want me. The butterflies were wild now."

What better place to lose control than at a three-day rock festival, with your girls by your side, music pumping in your veins and some liquid courage to set you free.
"I was wondering to myself how we would all look on our way home on Sunday. What the mood would be, who would’ve gotten laid, who would’ve got puking drunk, who would’ve shown their tits to anyone and everyone. I smiled, this was going to be one fun weekend!"

Ethan’s been running the festival for years now, and each year he sees her, but last he checked she had a ring on her finger, only this time there was something different about her, the ring was gone and she looked wild and free, finally ready to make his move. He’s waited so long for this chance, he’s scared to fuck this all up and lose the girl and all Gia wants is one night to lose herself
"I wondered if I was ready now, if I could forget all that had happened in my failed marriage long enough to feed my body what it was starving for."

But you can never judge a book by its cover and soon enough Ethan see’s that there is more to Gia than meets the eye, he just has to get in there to show her what she really needs.

I would of probably have given this a solid 4 stars but Ethan was way too sensitive for me, I like my men with a little more bite. Gia was fun even though at times she was a bit stubborn, loved the setting of the book. All in all it was a cute steamy read about a broken girl just wanting to feel but there is a book two, and although there is more, it wasn't that bad of a cliff hanger, just enough to let you know that there's gonna be more.

This was a very quick read, but overall a good book.

Gia is a basically a good girl who likes to have fun. She has been through some tough situations in her marriage that has caused her to question herself and her self-confidence. Having gone through three miscarriages, a failed marriage that lead to a divorce, and a one night stand she couldn't go through with, Gia has finally decided that its time for a little fun. Using the annual rock festival as her playground, Gia has her mind made up that all she wants is that once in a lifetime chance sexual encounter with a hot guy to redeem herself confidence.

Ethan has been struggling to turn a profit on the camp ground that was once his grandfather's and this years annual rock festival is looking pretty good. With high expectations of a profit this year, Ethan also has one other thing on his mind....to find the mystery women who has taken root in his mind for the last ten years. Not even knowing her name, but naming her "Hottness", Ethan seeks to finally approach this woman and get to know her.

When the opportunity arrives and the two meet, Gia feels like she's the only person in his world by the way he looks at her, and Ethan is captivated by her beautiful eyes and she is everything and more than what he was expecting. However, what they both need and desire seems to be complete opposites of each other and thus creates a problem for both.

Ethan realizes that Gia is looking for that one night stand when in fact he really wants to get to know her, however Gia feels both turned on and rejected by Ethan due to his reluctance to want to rush into sex, but it's what she really wants. Finally deciding to give Gia what she wants, Ethan caves. After their awesome sexual encounter in his office, Gia has a moment of reflection as things aren't how she thought they would be.

I was really enjoying the story, especially Gia's personality once she made up in her mind that she was going to get what she wanted one way or another. I also expected a little more from Ethan in the form of an alpha male but I didn't necessarily get that. Ethan was just a really sweet guy, who really wanted to "do the right thing", I sort of felt like the author was holding back on his character. I was also left feeling like where's the rest of the story at the end. There was no lead into a sequel, though I'm certain there will be one, but the story just cut off......"What the hell?" was all I could say. I also would like more on Trey and Dana as there is definitely a blossoming relationship with them. I would like to read more and hopefully the author really gets into developing the plot for Gia and Ethan.

Rocker Chick meets Hot Gentleman. Ethan wants nothing more than to get to know the mysterious girl that captivated him years ago. This story shows that time has no bounds when it comes to undeniable attraction. Gia's search for something other than what's she's known from past relationships comes to a dead end once she allows herself to give into Ethan. He wants nothing more than to take care of her. Gia wants nothing more than to forget her past.

Easy to read and a great rocker theme to the plot line. Interesting format of book; going between Gia's and Ethan's POV for the same scenes gave the reader an understanding of the situation from both perspectives.

I really liked this book. It was short. I could identify with Gia’s struggle to get pregnant. I have been there and you literally feel like a failure. I have issues with hubby leaving because she couldn't get pregnant. I mean haven't you heard of adoption, surrogacy. He didn't love her enough if you ask me. She is going out for a 3 day weekend with her girls and wants to have a hot and steamy goodtime. She meets Ethan, who has wanted her for about 10 years. She doesn’t want a commitment, just a fling and he wants all of her. I am on to book 2. Definitely recommend.

Irrecomendable.

This story was OK. I had a really hard time connecting with the MC.

The POV switched. The author did a good job of letting us know when the POV changed. As we switched from Gia's POV to Ethan's the time we went back in time. The first time it happened I didn't realize we had moved back in time and it confused me. Once I figured that out, it worked.

The synopsis sounded really good, but the dialogue in the second half of the story wasn't believable and I couldn't buy into the progression of their relationship. Additionally, I hadn't realized that this was only a 100 page installment.

His and Ethan

I liked this book. I felt that a lot of the story was repeated when Gia and Ethan were telling their story. I will read the second book so I can follow Gia and Ethan. I would recommend this book.

It is way too short. I got it for free, but would have skipped right over a 109 page book for $2.99 and that would have been a bummer because I liked it. The story has somewhere to go, it just took a while to get there and then BAM! it was over. There is a sexual warning, however the sex was pretty minuscule. I am hoping the sexy Ethan will show us some more of his moves in book two. This book was pretty much the set up, so there is a lot about her past and her girlfriends before we get to the nitty gritty of the story, which is pretty much the last chapter.

Gia needs a girls night out after moving one from a bad marriage and thankfully there is a rock festival to fill that need for her. Add that to a three day weekend and Gia has it made. Personally I thought it sounded fun, Gia and her besties getting all 80's rock glammed up to hang and listen to music for the weekend. They weren't necessarily on a mission to get laid, but all the better if they did. Gia meets Ethan while he is working behind the bar and he buys her and her friends a round of drinks. She zeros in on him for her one night stand, little does she know he actually wants more.

Ethan has been to the rock festival for the last nineteen years and for ten of those years he has seen Gia there. He admired her from afar as he noticed the wedding ring, but this year it was different-no ring. Ethan decides to finally approach Gia, only to find out she really isn't in to the whole dating thing, more of a wham-bam-thank-you-mam fits her for the weekend.

I liked the premise of the book, my only complaint would be the length. Just as the story got good, we were done. Although I did see the next one will be out in a few months, I like a bit more in one sitting.

This was such a cute short story that I easily devoured in just a little bit of time! Losing Control is about a weekend that Gia spends with her close friends at a rock festival. Little does she know that Ethan, prod ucer/owner/creator of the festival, has watched her every year she’s attended and has decided this is the year he’ll actually say something to her. When they finally meet, will sparks fly and romance bloom or is Gia intent on only having a goodtime with her friends?

The story line was especially interesting with the focus not being on one of the rock stars but rather the guy putting the entire event together. And Ethan is sweet, caring and determined to show Gia that she deserves something special. There was a lot of back-story, which was nice for a shorter story, and it left me longing for more – in a good way. I think that this could have easily been a great plot line for a full-length novel or for a novella series. When it ended I was definitely disappointed but not because it was done poorly but because I simply wanted more.

If you’re looking for something short and sweet with a little bit of steam, Losing Control is definitely for you!

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Gia is a divorced woman who feels broken. Every year she attends a weekend concert with her friends. Ethan has seen and noticed Gia every year at the concert venue he owns. She was married but he promises that if she is single this year he will try to make something happen. Can Gia let Ethan in? Can Ethan have the patience to wait for her to come around? Will these two end up together?

Interesting plot, I absolutely loved it. I also loved the characters more than I can say. The flow was good. The pace was excellent. All in all a great book.

I felt that this book was about getting over your fears and past. I mean Gia keeps saying she is broken and doesn't know who she is. I love the idea behind the book. I enjoyed the authors writing style. I will definitely be looking for the rest of this series to find out what happens with these characters. Great author and great book!

Losing Control by Desiree Wilder is a "boy trying to get girl" at an outdoor concert event. In this case, I guess the storyline called for the sex scenes. How Ethan handles things got Gia to realize she was worthy of love. There was very interesting information about how Ethan created and ran the concerts every year. Also, there were some bits and pieces about the rock stars. All the characters were interesting, appealing and fun. They fit right in with the story. I really enjoyed this fun to read book.

I really enjoyed this quick read.

Heading out for a weekend of fun with her best friends to a rock festival Gia realises she is ready to move on from her divorce. Ethan is busy organising the site of the festival looking out for the woman he's seen so many times before. Gia and Ethan have an instant connection but misunderstandings and fear threaten their chance of happiness together.

I loved the characters and the where the story was based. I look forward to reading more from this author.

If I had not gotten this one for free, I don't think that I would have paid 2.99 for it. It was a short read with more back story than real plot. There is a sexual content warning but there isn't any actual sex until the last chapter and then it is really only a quick page or two. Gia and Ethan are both kinda wishy washy for my taste and I don't think that I will continue on with this series..

It was a cute story. I never like books that do one point of view and then switch characters and do the other POV and re-tell the last chapter. This one switches POV but does very little re-telling. Gia is broken and Ethan, the owner of the park ha held a candle for the unknown Gia for years. He finally meets her and won't let her get away. Gia is only looking for a good time after her bitter marriage. Good story

Cute little story about four women going to a rock festival and a guy who's been crushing on one of the women for years and finally talks to her plus.... My only real objection as the end just kinda ended. A bit anti-climatic. Short story and a good first dip into the writing pool. (Actually I just read their story continues with book 2; suddenly the end makes more sense now!)

I wish a little more time had been given to the background story, it would help explain the scene after the sunset better. I felt like I was missing something. I also felt the story ended rather abruptly and I was left with too many unanswered questions...what happened to the couple? Overall, I enjoyed the story and will probably read other works by this author.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a shorter story but not too short. I liked how Gia was a good woman looking to have some fun in her life and the whole camping/outdoor concert setting was fun. Ethan just sounds like a very dreamy man:) The fact he had been waiting around 10 years to finally get to talk to Gia was cute. Bring on #2

Really like it but, I don't know, Gia kind of annoyed me, not at the beginning, but when she meets Ethan. He is gorgeous and sweet and waited for her for a long time and here she is, looking for something wild that probably will leave her feeling bad about herself. I don't know how he even understands that but he does..it's better in the end though, at least for me.

eh, quick read, but really too predictable, and nothing too interesting between the two main characters, Gia and Ethan, not too mention no true character development...book wasn't really long enough to do so.

This was probably one of the quickest reads I've ever had. I didn't realize it was so short.

Not a bad story, the author could've expanded in several things that would've made it better, but since the book only covers 2 days- she didn't really have much to work with.

I am downloading book 2 now

Nice but no where near a story that I'd love to read. It needed to be way longer and more informative than that.
