Ok, so if you love paranormal romance with modern-day quips and references (seriously, the Harry Potter and Star Trek references cracked me up), want something that will suck you in and not let you go for, well, forever, this whole series is for you!! Death is my second favorite book in the series (I hate goodbyes!) and I finished it in the space of a few hours because I could not bring myself to put it down.

This is why I gave it 4/5 stars

The good:

I loved this book, I thought the ending of the series came way too quickly (but I feel that way with every good series!) and am still reeling from the ending (way to go Ms. Brown, you've rendered me speechless!)

The not-so-good:

I felt myself wanting to edit parts of this book, there (and the others in the series)for small things - grammatical stuff (punctuation, wrong words used but spelled correctly [thanks MS Word! lol], some things didn't make sense the way they were written, I dunno, it seemed like a first or rough copy? I loved the story so much though, I looked past the mistakes that in other books would have made me put them down and give up completely.

The great:

I will buy anything that Tara Brown writes now! She has become one of my favorite authors; I mean I have a serious book hangover from this series and finished the whole series in less than a week and a half, while working on school and reading other books. I was listening to the Imagine Dragons CD and all I could think was how such and such song could go with each character. Then as I thought about each character and what happened to them, I got kinda emotional, not gonna lie, haha...its like I know that they are fictional but the way they were written, they were real, or could be real. THAT is the mark of a word artist.

It's always a sad thing to read the last book in a series. The best part about this final rose is there is quite an ending leading us into what is surely to become another favorite series!

Let it be said that you shouldn't begin this book without taking proper precautions; you should have a sufficient amount of Kleenex available, clear your schedule for the day, and if at all possible read in a padded room so your ereader doesn't end up broken.

As usual it seems that time and the odds are piled against our group of heroes. I mean, it's only saving the world right? What could possibly go wrong. . .

A fight against the unknown, beings they weren't quite prepared for, memories or lack of, questionable decisions and last but not least....death.

Once again Brown will take you a ride you won't soon forget, you'll laugh and you'll cry, you'll yell and you'll want to throw things....but most importantly you won't want it to end.

Death: A Dark Paranormal Fantasy (The Roses Book 5)

❤️‍🔥 love this series.. it's made me cry 😭 and laugh 😂 out loud. Her writing is crazy and impeccable. I love good vs evil books and this one takes the cake. I could not put this book down, it great read....look forward to more by Tara Brown! There were a few grammar errors, and some out of context sentences; but the story was still awesome! Definitely recommend this book 📚

INTRIGING

Full of action in unimaginable ways the various types of mutations fill this book with wonder, excitement, sadness and joy. It is truly a journey for paranormal fans full of death on ma y levels. Not for the faint of heart yet oddly beautiful in strange ways. Well written, keeps the reader's interest and recommend this book to those enjoying stories of the fae, angels, vampires and other unnatural creatures. Enjoy!

This mostly turns back to the perception of Aimee and what happens to her when different things keep happening to her and her new friends. These supernatural beings must fight against those who are against their own morality. Lots of plot twists for every character bring on a whole new world of emotions.

Let me start off saying Tara Brown did it again!! Death starts off exactly where Witch ended. The Roses are all preparing to find Jonathan and Lillith. Their plan is to kill Jonathan. Then have Ophelia kill her mother Lillith and twin brother Tristan. Once that's done she can take their powers as well as her ghost sisters. Then, there will be no more dark magic. That sounds easy enough. But, we're talking about The Roses. Nothing is as simple as it should be.

After Ari does what she does best. We've gone back 2yrs. Now you know what that means... Characters who we thought died are alive. A lot of people's memories are wiped clean. Hanna and Ophelia haven't even become The Beast or The Witch of all Witches yet. Aimee and Giselle are still normal teenagers, not The Death Dealer or Queen Vampire turned Succumbs. We get to see that all over again. But, of course Tara Brown makes it interesting and switches it up. Even though Hanna, O, Aimee and Giselle haven't turned yet. Once they see everybody all their memories come back.

Now that The Roses have become whole again. They have their plan set to get rid of Jonathan and Lillith, and all the dark magic. But, of course Jonathan is one step ahead of them. Plus, he has his own back-up. His back up ends up having Aimee and Ophelia make life changing choices. Choices that can change things drastically. People's lives will change. Every time they turn around they're getting backed stabbed. It's kind of hard to figure out who's on their side and who's playing them.

After they go thru battle they go back to Marcus's house. Now they have to figure out what is next. Aimee has to figure out what's next. And figure out who to save and who should die.

Then Lorrie does something that changes EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY!!!

I could give so much more away. But, I'm not going to. I really wanted to give this book 5 stars. The reason I didn't was because whenever the time went backwards I felt like I was re-reading the previous books. And, the fact that it was supposed to be the last book in the series. Well, it's not.... We have to wait for The Redeemers coming soon. I was very upset. I been waiting for closure. And, still haven't gotten it. But, other then that I loved the story.

" Ophelia, dark magic pulls the darkness into you. Every piece you take in kills off some of the light"

"Death dealer, you must suck from her as we fill her up. Take her poison."

She nods, "I have. They are called redeemers. They can redeem a soul and send it back to heaven. For every soul they save, the balance will tip slightly in the favor of the light"

This book picks up exactly where "Witch" ends. The Roses are preparing for the final battle to end the evil of all evil.

There isn't any new characters in this book, but we see the development of the characters abilities and personalities. We see that all the Roses are on edge and they have intensified their training to beat Jonathan once and for all.

There are lots of revelations revealed in this book, some good, some bad and some that you just can't seem to get over.

The way that Tara has written the story line over all 5 books is amazing, and it all ends with a humongous BANG at the end of "Death"

Throughout this book there is laughter, love, sadness, grief and unfortunately some characters that you may have started to love die (not mentioning any names.)

Tara managers to tie up all the loose ends we've all been trying to figure out in "Death", warning people please have you're tissues on standby, as you will certainly need them, I know I did :)

The ending is phenomenal in this book, heart-wrenching, but phenomenal! Loved the way Tara wrote the ending, it finished this saga off nicely, although we find out it truly hasn't ended.

The Devils Roses will be back, but different, something otherworldly and the new Saga will be called "The Redeemers".

Tara informs us at the end of "Death" that the new saga "Redeemers" will hopefully be available in the summer of 2013!

So get the date booked in your diary as I'm sure this isn't something we want to miss out on, I know I certainly don't!

I'm not really sure how she does it. Five books in a series, a story that is so twisted and intertwined and detailed and solid, and enough characters to fill an auditorium, and Tara Brown kept it all straight, kept each of her characters true to their personalities, kept timelines consistent (or correctly inconsistent) and STILL managed to make me laugh at some parts and gasp audibly at others.

The whole crew is about to take on the end of the world. Problem is, they come across beings they don't take into account, and that whole shifting time thing, along with some uncertain partnerships and serious trust issues. Everything seems a bit stacked against them. A lot stacked against them.

This book wraps it all up in a perfectly resolved little package, leaving no annoying strings unaccounted for, which is hard to do with a story this all encompassing. Kudos, Miss Brown. I can usually find a plot hole or a loose end in stories more complex than normal, but you win.

Obviously, if you've read the first four books in this series, you don't really have to be sold on this one. But I should say that after reading this series, my bar has been set a little higher for what constitutes a great story in this genre. Yours will, too.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Final book in The Devil's Roses Series, really was excited to see how things went down, I thought there wouldn't be a cliffhanger as it was the FINAL book but NOOO there was a damn cliffhanger in this book as well. I'm telling you what authors and their damn cliffhangers! Honestly this book is seriously just weird I didn't enjoy it as much as I did the others I'm not sure why but I didn't it wasn't the writing, or the contents I think it's the events that went down in the book, and people not remembering shit. I've never read a book like this before I like it but yet I'm not sure if I love it. (I hope I'm making some sense in my mind I am but I'm like mental at some times) The most humorous conversation that was in this book was between Lucas and Aimme:
"Getting fixed anytime soon? Cause I don't want to do that again."
He grins, "Already done."
I whisper, "you got neutered?"
An offended look crosses his brow, "I'm a man not a dog. What the Hell."
Yea I thought it was pretty funny as well!! I already talked about the dang cliffhanger can't wait to see what the new series has to offer!

Sadly this is the last book in the Devil's Roses series. I have really enjoyed this series by Tara Brown.

Death will take you on quite the ride. Our favorite Roses are preparing for war. They are preparing to save the world as we know it. But will it be enough? Will good triumph over evil?

Everybody is on edge. The time for war is nearing. Preparations have begun, training has intensified, and emotions are at an all time high. Only one thing can make even the most difficult time even harder to prepare for...Ari's magical hands. One decision will once again change everything the Roses know and hold dear.

Memories are lost, two of the roses are sent back, but still manage to retain their abilities, and others are sent back to a point where they do not have any abilities at all. Now for some its back to square one and for others its the task of helping them to remember before the big day arrives.

Death is an absolute amazing finale to the Roses series. I wish that there was so much more to come. I have grown to love each of the characters for the uniqueness they each bring to the story. Great job Tara!!

As Ari has changed the timeline yet again we see how things could and should have been. Not all change is for the good. The good guys are preparing for what is going to happen and it could be the next apocalypse.

The characters are so cool and the story is so complicated it is hard to get everything in this review so you can understand how much this book rocked.

The devil is the last resort for mankind which I thought was very scary. Ari is dealing with her own issues and so is Aimee which I think distracts them from the real issues. I would think in turns of flake but that is not totally true. I really enjoyed this series and I cannot wait for the next series the redeemers. I want to see what happens to Aimee after the apocalypse happens and how her relationship with Aleks is handled.

Ugh, I am only going to say this because I love Tara Brown and all her books: I want to slap her after this one. The emotional rollercoaster was intense, and this was my least favorite of the series. And now that she has me 5 books into the series, I'm obligated to read "Redeemer's", with high hopes she will redeem herself in the spin-off series.

Now, about the book. I really can not pinpoint what it was about the book I didn't like, other than the dying/coming back/dying again thing. It gets really old. I couldn't really get upset about anyone's death because they kept coming back! And in the end, nothing is resolved, we just have a new problem and a new series. NOT what I was hoping for, TARA!!!! :(

I will continue to read her books, even though I somehow end up crying or mad by the end of every series. I'm starting to think she does this on purpose.;)

Well well well i love these books! Death is the last in the series and D-Day so to speak. The fight is still on against Jonathan and Lillith and the Devil's Roses will fight to the death. Got to say I was very sad when Dorian died and I had a sneaky feeling that he was in love with Aimee all along. Bit P'eed off at the Roses who die but it had to be done, I'm just glad Aimee and Aleks survived together. The ending annoyed me a bit because I read through the whole series only to find out I have to wait AGAIN to find out what happens but still excellent books, worth reading. Also loved Marcus he was hilarious when he was having his meltdown and best quote from the whole book...... "Thanks for letting me ride with the sausage party" - Lorri, Funnny!

Holy s...uccubus! Death is just as unpredictable as the rest of the series, and has lots of excitement. There really is a lot going on in this book. I love the different perspectives, as this story is told from many character's POV. The only problem about that for me, while reading this on a weekend, I was often distracted by my kids. Then when I get back in the middle of the chapter, I had to figure out who's POV it was.

This book isn't really the end of the series. It's not a major cliffhanger like the prior books, but there is more to come in Redeemers and Betrayers. At first, because I didn't realize that it wasn't a true conclusion, it was dissapointing. However, I really enjoyed this series so much, I'm looking forward to there being more.

I'm undecided how I feel about this series. I liked it, but I'm left wanting. I was looking for a happily ever after that I didn't get. Now it looks like there will be a spinoff series from this. I'm kind if pissed about that. I'm ok with a spinoff, as long as the original series has an ending. I didn't feel like this book wrapped up this story at all. I mean, the bad guy gets what's coming, but the heroes of the story don't really get a very happy outcome in my opinion. Not sure if I want to read the next series. I wonder if the Redeemers series will finish off the story for out heroes, or if it'll just tick me off some more!

I absolutely loved this book. I felt this story was written with every thing you could ask for in a novel. Paranormal (obviously), action, romance, friendship, suspense, and so much more. The characters are amazing. Each one has a unique way about them. The story itself held me capture throughout. I think it is brilliant the way Tara Brown wrote a series with 5 books that held you compelled to continue reading and wanting more. Each book lead to having the need to continue through. 'Death' is an awesome story ending that opens to a new series 'Redeemers'. 'Death' is a novel that is well written. A definite add to your tbr list, as well as the first 4 books in this series. Recommended!!!!!!

This was a a wonderful series and I never got tired of any of the books. There were no down times and pages full of blabber. Tara brown is an amazing author and I can't wait to read more of her work. The story never got old especially with Ari in it. You never knew what was going through that brain of hers and what she was going to do next. Aimee is a strong character and not even the changing of the past can truly change what she is.
A great series I would recommend to anyone that has a love for the paranormal and a love for well written books. Thanks Tara for making the first book free and getting us addicted.

So I will say this Tara once again pulled me into her book and I couldn't put it down until I finished it. I loved it even the heart breaking cry my eyes out parts I still loved it. You will need tissues when you read Death because it is sad. There are a lot of great parts in Death and some funny ones too. Tara left us with a cliffhanger but that cliffhanger made me happy, Thank you Tara for a wonderful series!!

This was possibly the worst of all the books. I don't even want to go over what happened in this book because I am not 100% sure. It was just horrible. I hate how Ari keeps changing the past (complained about that already) and I hate how the author forgets to mention things. I was so confused for half of the book. The majority of the time I had no idea what was going on. I just read this to get it over and done with.

The ending was pretty cool. But that was it. Sorry but not sorry to give it once star. That's all.

There is so much going on in this book that if I say anything I am sure it will be a spoiler. Lets just say WOW with Oliver and Ophelia and how about Dorian and Aimee?? I defiantly did not see Lorri doing what she did in the end! I always knew Henry was really a good guy :) I can not wait until the Redeemers series comes out. I am so glad that I put in to win Tara Browns books and she wound up gifting me with her whole Library!! She is an awesome author.

I liked this story more since we there weren't any new characters introduced, but it was extremely frustrating to finish a series and not really get an ending. I stuck with series, even though I didn't particularly like the style or pushover female characters, because I liked the mythology and wanted to know the ending. It's very disappointing to think you're reading the ending to a series and realizing it's just promoting another, new series.

I cried. I laughed. I cried. I laughed. Action. Action. More action! Twists. Turns. Like a never ending maze. Anxiety. Roller coaster. Switchbacks. Loops. I was totally captivated. Couldn't put it down. Literally on the edge of my seat! Cliffhanger ending--now I can't wait to read "Redeemer". Amazing, intelligent, witty, chaotic, loving, hating, secrets, romance, doom, destruction...this book has it all! Highly recommended!

I'm still processing this book. I feel a little disappointed but the story was interesting. Out of all the books, this one was confusing. I think the writing could have been better. I had to reread several paragraphs. I liked it but it is probably my least favorite out of the series. Looking forward to reading more Tara Brown books.

Love this whole series!

Death is the 5th book in Tara Brown's The Devil's Roses Series. I read this book through non-stop, I couldn't put it down. This book had me laughing and crying at the same time. This is a great book but you'll definitely need some kleenex near for this story. 5 stars!
