Sleep, Beauty, Glass, Snow are the titles of the 4 fairy-tale’s that have been re-written with a unique modern day twist. In Sleep we have Prince Tristen cursed to sleep for a hundred years until his true love (Jae, a photographer/journalist in a sports car) re-awakens him and his kingdom. In Beauty we find Finn who loves to cook, traded to a beast for his father’s life who discovers the heart beneath the beast, Prince Samuel. In Glass we have Payne who is sick of being treated like a slave and wishes for a better life and meets his very own prince, Hayden. In Snow we have Mason who loves to snowboard, his step-mother tries to be rid of him and Mason discovers seven snowboarders and one of them is his knight in shining armour.

Each story we read gives us a unique modern twist, each story is changed slightly to fit more into modern times but sticks to the fairy-tale love. With Sleep it begins in the traditional setting with the birth of the much longed for child and the curse that was uttered at his birth celebration, fast forward and we have Jae who is sent to discover the truth about a sleeping kingdom. It’s a very sweet story, although you have to question the stupidity of someone trusting a stranger who promises to make you ‘feel good’. The sweetness of the story comes from Jae and Prince Tristen getting to know each other before getting their happily ever after.

In Beauty it really stays with the traditional story with the generous youngest sibling Finn, the more selfish older brothers and sisters and the slightly bumbling father, and the horrific beast. So not much to add to it other than it was sweet.

In Glass we have a thoroughly modern update including mouthy fairy godfather, foul mouthed Cinderfella, Payne, hunky Prince Hayden and very selfish step-mother and step-sisters. Very fast moving storyline in this one with Payne and Hayden discovering an instant attraction and connection.

In Snow the story is twisted with Mason’s prince charming being one of the snowboarders, the evil step-mother not giving a damn about anything but herself and Mason’s father, James, just wanting the pair of them to get along. It’s a good story that has its bones in the original but swerves away from the original enough to give it a fresh twist.

Each story has sweet lovemaking in it, happy endings and perfect couples, so this is one you want to read if you want modern twists to your fairy-tales but some originality laced through them, with loads of hot men and sigh worthy endings.

I’m a sucker for faery tales and some of my all-time favorites are included in “Faraway” by Piper Whitney. What makes this book even better? It incorporates my favorite genre; m/m romance!!
Sleeping Beauty’s prince just so happens to be a magazine photographer. When “Sleeping Beauty” falls into the 100-year sleep, many princes come to try and wake him; never to be heard from again. Photographer Jae Priest wakes the sleeping prince, Tristan, with a kiss in 2013.

Finn is Beauty in Beauty and the Beast. His father, Ellory, is asked by Finn to bring him a rose when his father returns from a trip. Lost in a snowstorm, Ellory comes across a castle and finds a rose garden. He’s caught when he tries to pluck a rose by the Beast.
Finn soothes the Beast and breaks the spell hiding Prince Samuel from the world.

Cinderella is, in actuality, Payne. Payne’s mother dies and his father takes as his wife a wicked woman who has two equally wicked daughters. Marc is his fairy…god mother, appointed by the Fairy Union (haha…loved that!) and is a tall, muscular, sunglasses-wearing, leather-garbed, wand-carrying man with wings. Marc dresses Payne in a tuxedo and colorful Converse sneakers instead of glass slippers.
Payne attends the ball, meets the handsome prince, Hayden.
The spell by Marc ends at midnight…long enough for Payne to fall into the fountain, enjoy a little lovin’ with the prince, and run away before the clock strikes 12.

Mason, as Snow White, is raised by his father. Gabriella is the future wicked step-mother who has a plan to get rid of Mason and then his father. When Gabriella’s brother attempts to kill Mason, seven snowboarders rescue him and take him in. Mason becomes friends with all seven but Brady steals his heart.

I’d be first in line if Disney ever wanted to make a movie of any of these versions of popular faery tales! How much fun would they be??
The stories were short yet fun and the writing is great! Of course, Piper Whitney is on my long list of favorite authors so Faraway can’t be a bad read!

A gay twist on some of the most well known fairy tales. I think that Beauty was my favorite. Overall, these were OK but seemed to just zip along and not give any substance to the fairy tale. Sweet stories, so if you're looking for something quick and you want a Cinderfella or Sleeping...Beau?, this might work for you!

The stories were good but in some cases it seemed to forget that they were meant to be modern stories and also except for Finn in 'beauty and the beast' none of the characters had any really development so you never really got attached to them

I was so excited to read this book. The stories were fun and just a bit too fast but all in all I enjoyed them.
