Seventeen-year-old Bae Sugu, lives with his father, a high school vice principal. His mother has passed away, and his father's high expectations keep him under constant pressure.

"A tiny stream of water flows ...

His unique escape from reality is a quirky, obsession with women swimsuits.
When his homeroom teacher catches him in the act of taking photos of the girls from the school's female swimming team, his little hobby leads him in unimaginable trouble. That teacher is also the coach of the school's first female water polo team, a brand new project, that is about to be dropped. Why? They are short of one player to make a team. Well, the bat-crazy teacher has a last-minute idea. Blackmail. Sugu WILL play the part of a girl and become a member of the team .... OR his father, the school's Vice Principal (aka daddy) will learn about his pervy passion.

For a few moments there, I was left under the impression that Ha Il-kwon (the author of the beautiful Annarasumanara) had lost it and went off his rocker. What is this? A pervy high schooler posing as a girl in an all-female water polo school team?

WTF?!



A Harem manhwa? Really?



Mind you, not that I've never read one. There are some decent and funny titles out there. I just wasn't in the mood for one just now. It wasn't what I signed-in for.
Fortunately my fears were premature. The story is anything but shallow, and by the looks of it I shouldn't end disappointed.



The art is so different if compared to Annarasumanara. This time the captions come all in color (as customary in a webtoon), even if ... pretty pale. I wonder if we can expect in the next volumes, a change in style, or some experiments like with the former manhwa.

Volume Two, here I come!

While it's intriguing that the protagonist Bae Sugu is forced to join a young women's swimming team due to his fetish for women's swimwear, the plot was just too predictable for me to continue…

Bae Sugu discovers with stupefaction that he is infatuated with swimwear. It gets worse when he stumbles upon a sad, but beautiful girl while peeping into the swimming area and develops a high-school crush on her. His waning interest in school is a source of embarassment for his authoritarian father, the vice-principal at his school, who wants to see his son work hard and be the first in class again.

Chae is a new teacher at the school and is passionate about swimming. He wants to build a female water polo team, even though most of the students don't share his enthusiasm. He only has 6 enlisted for the team and needs a seventh. The opportunity hits when he discovers Bae Sugu peeping at the girls in swimsuits again. To keep his peeping habits secret, the coach blackmails the boy into being the seventh member of the team and to use the name Kim So-Nya.

Sugu takes advantage of his predicament by photographing the other swimmers. So he's still a pervert and can now be closer to his crush, Kim Jiyu. His best friend Byuntae is also interested in one of the girls, Jina the class president who boasts about being good at everything and is hated for her arrogance. Sugu can't get Jiyu intersted in him partly because she still thinks he is a girl and also because she is interested in an older student.

Realizing his was only a stupid crush, he goes all sour grapes on the whole thing, but soon learns that the guy isn't interested in Jiyu, so they never had a real relationship. They even fight about it - I mean headbutting and everything. Sugu gets angry and steps in to stop them, not realizing that he dropped his wig in front of Jiyu. She doesn't care about his secret, so she doesn't reveal it to the others on the team.

Jiyu and Sugu accuse one another of being a pervert and a broken doll respectively. She jumps in the water, then he pulls her out and further accuses her of trying to kill herself. They finally reach a better understanding of each other when they realize they have the same problem of trying to meet other people's expectations of them.

Со стороны жизнь 17-летнего Бае Шугу похожа на идеальную картинку: сын замдиректора престижной старшей школы, отличник, вечный классный староста.

Но никто не знает, насколько зажатым в тесные рамки этой ненавистной ему картинки, чувствует себя юноша.

Единственной отдушиной и глотком свежего воздуха для него служат женские купальники — его тайная и постыдная страсть.

Бае Шугу любуется ими, мечтая что в будущем станет дизайнером купальников, и таком фотографирует их на девушках в школьном бассейне.

Будучи застигнутым «на месте преступления», юноша вынужден пойти на сделку с классным руководителем и спасти от расформирования женскую команду по водному поло. Но для этого ему придется вступить в нее, на месяц притворившись девушкой…

После такого описания невольно ожидаешь, что манхва «Мое сердце бьется» будет легкомысленной романтической комедией с переодеваниями, вроде «В джазе только девушки» или многочисленных дорамных историй.

Тем не менее, Ха Иль-Квону удалось под приправой жанров «гендерной интриги» и «cпокона» рассказать пусть и несколько банальную, но очень цельную драматическую жизненную историю, оставляющую после себя приятное послевкусие.

Тренер-учитель собрал вместе группу эмоциональных калек, большинству из которых, на самом деле, плевать на водное поло. Но, работая вместе, они начинают по-другому смотреть на мир, друг на друга и, самое главное — на самих себя. Они заново учатся улыбаться и мечтать, у них появляется цель, а их сердца снова начинают биться.

Драма умело разбавлена, но не перенасыщена, типичными для спортивной манги темами превозмогания, роста над собой, соперничества: тренировки, подготовка к соревнованиям, решающий матч.

Kupikir ceritanya lebih ke komedi kayak God of Bath, tapi ternyata komedinya lebih keselipan dan dramanya lebih terasa ^^
Dan lagi, walaupun webtoon ini genre gender-bender dengan dikelilingin cewek-cewek, tapi tidak terasa seperti harem, layaknya manga yang pernah aku baca hehehe :D

Really enjoyed reading this webtoon, it has humor, romance and emotions.The story is deep and the main character development is well paced. Really a awesome job for such a small manhwa. This is the second book i have read from the author and he has really improved his story telling skill.The only thing he does need to work on is the standardization of the faces he draws.
