A legendary crystal entangles two reluctant lovers with the help of an eccentric aunt and a mystical Indian.

Celeste Jordan knows nothing about gems so she questions why she sees a mark on hers that no one else can see. Rock Foster, a mineralogist, “rockhound”, is skeptical. As a scientist he doesn’t believe in legends, but he’d heard of crystals that hold knowledge for a privileged few. Reluctantly, he agrees to take Celeste to the desert dig site where he found the gem. Little did the loner know his life would be turned upside down and that love would knock down his door.

As an image consultant, Celeste always looks her best. Dirt, sweat, and outdoor showers have never been a part of her life. But she’s determined to get to the bottom of the mysterious gem and its affect on her, even if it means leaving the comforts of home for one night. Although attracted to the ruggedly handsome Rock, she knew nothing could come of it. They were each married to their careers and their worlds were miles apart. But when Mother Nature twists up a storm that changes all their plans, one night turns into another, then another...

Blanche Marriott began writing romance novels in 1991 while balancing her career as a wood products manufacturing manager. She often joined the troops in the factory, working on sanders, drills, and saws. It gave her time to "talk" to the characters in her head and figure out what they would do next. In 2001 she switched careers and now works for a CPA firm as an accounting assistant, specializing in payroll.

She has completed 14 novels while staying active in 2 writing groups, serving on the Boards of Directors several times, and a number of conference committees. But the best part was the life-long friendships she's formed with so many writers, published and unpublished.

Her first published novel, KALEIDOSCOPE, won 2nd place in the 2003 WisRWA Write Touch Readers' Award for published authors. Her second book, WAY OUT WEST, won the prestigious New Jersey Romance Writers' 2003 Golden Leaf Award for Short Contemporary. WAY OUT WEST was also a finalist in the 2004 Virginia Romance Writers' HOLT Medallion Awards.

Her current novels are APRIL'S FOOL and HIS BROTHER'S BABY. She also has a non-fiction humor book, BORN TO BITCH, chronicling life's little annoyances.

Blanche lives in Rhode Island with her husband. She enjoys gardening, reading, and playing with her grandkids. You can visit her website, www.blanchemarriott.com, or email her at blanche@blanchemarriott.com, or follow her on Facebook (Blanche Marriott)

This is a wonderful book, I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of this book through the website The Cheap Ebook. I have to say that Celeste and Rock's story was wonderful.I was captured from the first chapter and couldn't wait to finish the book to see how it eds. I love all of the characters especially Celeste, Rock and Aunt Clara. This is a great love story that had me rooting for them through the whole book because they had such passion for each other. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I have to say that I am looking to reading more. I hope Blanche writes more books with the same characters, maybe a spin off with Aunt Clara. If you love a good romance then you need to read this book!

A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

This book had me right from the beginning. The story involving the crystal was a real big draw into the book. These two people had to go out of their comfort zones, but the reward was worth more than the crystals. Two souls who are complete opposites are looking for more/ a change, but not love. They're in for a surprise when a mutual friend brings them together, but will they take a chance on the magic of love. Aunt Clara is a great interesting character. I'd definitely give this book a look.

This was a fun read from start to finish. Rock is a "Indiana Jones" type character, who's a mineralogist. He's used to digging, and getting hot and dirty. Celeste is a city girl, who likes to look her best. But she gets drawn into the mystery of a mark on a gem only she can see. I love this kind of scenario. And this one was great.

I received this book for free as a Goodreads "first reads". All opinions expressed are mine alone.

I've read at least one of the author's books before, so was familiar with her writing. This, however was a different setting, different circumstances so the entire story was "new". I was interested from page one.

This was a story that had a young "sophisticated city" girl falling for a - rock hound??? I found myself chuckling at that. I could see so many things that "might/could" happen and had to keep reading to discover just what was going to occur next. And the romance? Only way to describe it - hot!

Story line - 5 stars
Characters - 5 stars
Editing - 5 stars (if there were mistakes I didn't notice as I was too
involved in the story!)
Enjoyment level - 5 stars
(Divide 20 stars by 4.....5 star rating for this book)

Would I recommend the book to others. You bet!
