FUCK, FUCK, FUCK!!! …is it possible to murder fictional characters? cause I have a few people in this book that are on my shit list!!! In this second book of the Broken Series Kol Anderson has continued his abuse of my heart, in fact I think he ripped it out of my chest and stamped on it a few times! This isn’t a book that you can curl up and relax with, rather you spend the duration of your reading experience sitting on the edge of your seat in a hyper state of anxiety with my poor Kindle experiencing the tension of a white knuckle ride! But I am an adrenaline junkie with a depraved soul and this is the type of book I CRAVE and Kol has not disappointed but delivered a blissful fix to sate  my addiction… Just bloody fantastic!!!

Hell and Beyond… perfect title …and pretty much sums up where poor Aaron is at. I feel sick in the pit of my stomach when I think of this poor boy… even now writing my review his hopelessness and despair make my chest ache. He wants to survive this ordeal and has resigned himself to his life as a slave and looks to Vince as his glimmer of hope in the darkness. But no matter how hard Aaron tries, what he gives of himself, the fact that he submits and performs as required, has finally found something… a place inside him that can at least be happy with Vince in control, the bastards keep changing the game plan, leaving him confused and bewildered… and my blood boiling!

Vincent’s training is relentless, Aaron no longer has a will of his own as Vince demands his submission by any means, he has a job to do… train Aaron as a slave to the required standard of his client and whether Aaron likes it or not he will comply and obey orders… of course this is all for Aarons benefit, preparing him for his new owner will get him used to the pain and abuse that is to come when he is sold… yeah right! you are a sadist Vince! …or do you know the deviant nature of the client?

Meanwhile back at the ranch! Eric and Sebastian are playing happy families and quite frankly I hated them for their unknowing oblivion. Yes they are still looking for Aaron but it hurts that they are carrying on with their lives while Aaron is living a nightmare, I think Eric is hoping Sebastian will forget about Aaron, fade into nothing, so he can continue repairing the damage of his infidelities.

Aaron is in a constant battle with his inner self, that part of him that wants him to fight, his voice of reason that mocks his submissiveness. He is happy not having to sustain the merciless torture from when he first arrived and he sees his behaviour as his survival mechanism kicking in, yet finds the rewards and praise from Vince make him happy, finding a euphoria he has never known and finds himself wanting the glimpse of compassion he sees in his captors eyes and the physical attention he occasionally bestows on him… he is conflicted and not really understanding why the pain is now turning to pleasure.

Vincent is also conflicted and his mixed signals piss me off… he feels something for Aaron, something he has never felt for another sub, the beauty of his submission, the fact that he has practically delivered his soul on a plate to him… but most of all the trust… Aaron trusts Vincent and all of those things called to his heart. But Aaron is a commodity and investment and not only that the silent partner demands his financial rewards… and Vince himself has to deliver or suffer the consequences.

When we meet Carson, the silent business partner, I gained some understanding of Vince’s behaviour, but the last part of the book made no sense, why punish Aaron for something out of his control? That shit was all wrong and just when I thought Vince was starting to redeem himself… the bastard proves me wrong yet again! The ending is brutal and just about broke my heart… I read the end of the book through a fog of tears it hurt so much! Aaron had given everything, done as he had been asked, obeyed orders no matter how bad… had at last found a little happy place inside him, all he had done and achieved so far he had done for Vince and he had no comprehension or understanding of exactly what all that shit was about!

I have to say everyone in this book seems conflicted in one way or another… as well as me! Do I want Sebastian to charge in as the white knight and rescue Aaron? In book one I would have said “Hell Yes,” …yet now I find a part of me wanting Vince to act on his heart, be the bigger man, consequences be damned and start to nurture what he has sparked in Aaron, that boy needs to be loved his heart is yearning for it, he is broken and someone needs to put him back together. The drugs… for some reason the drug addiction is part of the book that makes my heartache and blood boil the most, does he comply because of his need? or is there really something within him that has warmed to Vince? I HATE THE DRUGS! I also HATE those three nameless men that have been the cause of Aarons true fear… and God help me I want to take a cattle prod and stick it where the sun doesn’t shine and take great pleasure in doing it!

Kol Anderson… is a remarkable young man and I am excited by his talent and also the promise of what is to come, If authors manage to get to the very heart of your emotions with their words, if they manage to make you empathise with characters, to see them, feel, hurt and bleed for them, then to me that is the mark of an excellent storyteller and long may it continue.

OK… I have vented, fumed and schmoozed enough… Kol Anderson… I WANT BOOK THREE NOW! that ending was just plain mean!

Book 2 in the Broken Series, and things haven't gotten any better for Aaron at all. Everything that happened in book 1 continues in book 2, but there is a surprising twist, , most of you will understand. 5 stars for this one, again a brilliantly written, gripping and tension-filled story.

Aaron is still being held by Vince and his thugs, and we discover that the boss of the escort agency that Aaron was employed by is also involved in this grim undertaking, indeed, it would seem that Aaron isn't the first person that this gang have kidnapped and treated this way. Another guy named Carson is running the show, and is getting a little fed up with Vince's excuses as to why Aaron isn't ready to go to the client yet...and that may have something to do with the fact that Vince is falling for him. Yes, he still treats Aaron appallingly but he feels that he's doing Aaron a favour by not being as violent towards him as Carson wants, but Aaron cannot take much more and has already tried to kill himself once.

In the meantime, Sebastian has worked out that something is not right with Aaron's disappearance, and a detective friend of his has gotten involved...his relationship with his other half Erik is still fragile and they bicker back and forth until Sebastian puts his foot down and asks Erik to help him find out what's happened to Aaron, and Erik agrees to put their differences aside and help, and right at the end of the story, one of the 'guards' (in reality one of the guys that has already raped and tortured Aaron) decides enough is enough and may be making plans to actually help Aaron thank God....

The wait for book 3 will be extremely, well I was going to say painful, but that word pales into insignificance compared to what Aaron is suffering......

The horrors continue as Aaron has been Vincent's prisoner for approximately 10 weeks. Vincent has decided that it is now time for the next step in Aaron's "training". Aaron's struggles continue, knowing that if he doesn't submit to Vincent's brutality, things will only be worse, but hating himself every time he does.

We meet Vincent's boss Carson and get a glimpse of Sebastian and Eric's attempts to reconcile. Sebastian continues looking for Aaron, but his search soon brings unintended consequences. Vincent is still fighting to stay detached, but something about Aaron keeps drawing him in. Unknown to Aaron, he may have more help than he thinks, but nothing is certain in this story.

Again, Kol Anderson's ending left me wanting the next installment now!

WELL, pass the fork over Hilly Holbrook. I deserve a piece of that eat my shit pie. I originally thought the series was just okay but the friggin ending surprised the hell out of me.. I feel like the author just slapped me in the face (deservingly so). I will definitely be continuing on with the series.... and Vincent.... I'm sorry for picking on you so badly.

*** my apologizes to the fabulous Perv-dizzle for causing your pretty little head so much confusion. I wish I could say it won't happen again but I rather I NOT be struck by lightening ..

Review written for The Blog of Sid Love.

Wow. I was on the edge of my seat in this segment. Could poor Aaron handle much more? It seems that he can. I felt like I wanted to be right there holding his hand, encouraging him to hang on the entire time. He is so screwed, mentally, physically and every other way possible.

Vincent is one effed up character. He is the captor/director of all things good and evil to Aaron. Yet, he has screwed up feelings of his own where Aaron is concerned. Unfortunately, he is sort of stuck in that it’s either him or Aaron, so of course, he chooses Aaron.

And then there is Carl, supposedly worse than Vincent, if that can be believed. He is the one putting the pressure on Vincent after all. But then, wait, what? whoa! What kind of ending is that? Grrrr. Must read the next installment asap!

I will be honest, as I always try to be, and say that I could really care less about what Sebastian and Eric were going through or dealing with. Those who find these kinds of stories engaging and somewhat addicting, should definitely put this on their list.

My god it just gets deeper and better and 5 star worthy! This is the 2nd book in this dark amazing series I want more NOW as I hate waiting so as I sit and pout about it I’ll imagine happy thoughts for you Aaron. . The writing is intense the subject is dark and disturbing and I loved every minute of it. Aaron you poor tortured man every hit and every need, I felt for you. I hurt with you. Vincent you asshole I still hate you! I don’t know that anything can change that. I liked that Sebastion and Eric are working on their issues < they are big ones > and that Sebastion isn’t giving up to at least help Aaron in knowing something isn’t right . I will only say for right know Carl you’re my fucking hero. Please don’t fuck it up for me. ( hint hint Kol )LOL If you like dark gritty dangerous tortured reads YOU MUST READ THIS!

What Is This Series Doing To Me?!

I thought I would get some closure in this, the second book in the Broken series, but I'm not sure why I thought that. I think I said something about resolution in my review for book one. What THE HELL WAS I SMOKING?

This book. Fucked. Me. UP. It ripped out my brain and stomped on it. It bitch smacked my emotions and then spit on them. My stomach is in knots, I cringed so hard that I'm pretty sure I injured myself, I had about fifty panic attacks and three heart attacks, my eyes were watering, and I felt like my chest was going to explode. What kind of fresh hell did this book drop me into? And yet I couldn't stop reading.

Aaron's torture gets amped up in the second installment and it's off-set by tender moments from Vincent. The tender moments just make it worse; so much worse. Vincent begins "training" Aaron to be a submissive for the man who wants to buy him. This training is harsh, bloody, vicious, and relentless. And the messed up thing? The messed up thing is that Vincent thinks he's helping Aaron; preparing Aaron for what his life is going to be. He's got these soft feelings for Aaron that are so twisted because while he doesn't want to save Aaron he also doesn't want to give him to the buyer. It's messy, very messy.

Meanwhile, we have Aaron's old boyfriend, Sebastian, who is still looking for him. I don't know why but I hate Sebastian a little more every time he comes onto the scene. Something about the fact that his life is going on and he's trying to be happy with his husband while Aaron is being broken and abused, it makes me a little sick to my stomach. It's completely irrational of me to feel that way but I'm pretty sure this story has stripped my ability to be a rational human being while reading it.

And now I have to wait for the third installment in this series. Usually I hate waiting but this wait gives me a chance to catch my breath before I jump back in. I have no idea what's coming next but, man, I can't wait to see.

This is the second in The Prisoner series. It is as dark as the first, with Aaron being subjected to more terror. This time about midway through, there is a twist in the story. I am not going to spoil it, you will have to read to find out.
The second one, unfortunately, has more questions than answers. Sebastian and Eric seem to have mended their relationship, but where does that leave the search for Aaron? It is frustrating, to have no answers to the questions. We are prisoners as much as Aaron for the desire to have answers. I am positive that is the author's sadistic goal. This ends with that tiny ray of hope. Something Aaron and the reader need.
If you can leave your comfort zone, and can deal with the subject matter, this is for you. Now, the wait for number 3.

5 STARS!!! This series just keeps getting better! Aaron is still being held captive by Vincent and his partners. Vincent is training Aaron to be a submissive for his new owner. Hearing this story from Aaron’s POV is heartbreaking. It really is brutal to read, so be aware of that before you buy. But if you can handle a dark and twisted read, the Broken series is fantastic!! I’m already looking forward to the next installment!

A "Live Your Life, Buy The Book" Review

Phew! This installment was brutal! I must admit there were parts of Aaron’s “training” that I had to skim over. If only it were that simple for Aaron…

Some time has passed, Aaron has been held for about 10 weeks now and on the outside Eric and Sebastian are trying to fix their marriage. Sadly for Eric it seems that Sebastian needs some help, of the alcoholic variety, to get him in the mood. Not that I doubt he still genuinely cares for Eric, but his mind is definitely on Aaron and his whereabouts. They are still trying to find him – somehow, that’s not working out very well for Aaron at the minute :-(

The “training” regime has stepped up a gear and it is really quite hard to read in parts. Vincent is the king of preparation it would seem and he is making sure that Aaron is up for anything this prospective Client might throw at him. There is definitely a connection forming between these two now; and I too find myself hanging on for the end where Vince soothes Aaron (and me, apparently :-P ). I am torn between enjoying the fact that Aaron is giving in to his submissive side, and feeling that it is only because of what he is being subjected to by Vince. Clever training I guess. Whether it is possible, I wouldn’t know – and I would love for somebody that lives the lifstyle to read this and comment on it.

Again it is hard to say too much more without spoiling what does happen. We get to meet Carson, Vincent’s boss, and there is a scene at the end where Carson demands that Aaron be punished. Horribly so. The worst yet, and I am glad there was some of it off page. Then something happens that had my eyebrows shooting right up …. it appears that Aaron’s salvation may be coming from the most unlikely person. I’m not sure how I feel about that. What I do know, though, is that the next installment cannot come soon enough! Still totally hooked on this serial!

As this installment is winding down, Sebastian finally finds a clue as to what may have happened to Aaron. It’s a strong enough clue that Vince’s boss knows someone is getting close. As things go from bad to worse for Aaron, help from an unlikely source flips the story on its head. I really like this because the reader never knows what’s going to happen next. There is nothing predictable about this book. For such a short story, so much happens.

Love the cover but the story left me angry, confused and my feelings are all over the place at this moment... very much like the broken Aaron right now. He is a mess! So am I. Maybe I stayed in his head too much and went thru hell together with him along the way.

Man, maybe I am just too weak to handle this story.

I just read Prisoner, and Hell and Beyond in one sitting. Now since I read both books in a row, my review's are pretty close to the same.

This book is not a sweet and fuzzy romance. This is dark erotica, heavy BDSM, Torment. It's been a while since I've read this type of book - mostly because they became predictable. They were too dark, you never felt a connection with the villain/s or the torture was so unrelenting that all glimmer of hope was extinguished. You were left no reason to continue caring.

I finished the first book, Prisoner at 3 am... and immediately scrambled to read this book... and here it is 7 am. And all I can say is I WANT MORE!

Keep in mind THIS IS A SERIES!

This author is completely new to me and I found his writing style gritty and evocative and erotic and amazing. He isn't dabbling in BDSM... the man know's the psychological triggers behind it, and shows it in all its disturbing splendor.

Every time I'm certain I have a fix on who's pulling the strings or how much I loathe Vince... I find myself hesitating with my final judgement. On one hand the torture is unrelenting, but you'd get a glimpse, an insight to keep you plodding along... hoping. It's beautiful, how the writer's lured me into feeling stirrings of sympathy and empathy for Vince.

Aaron... oh Aaron. I can only imagine how easy it would have been to give in and write Aaron as weak and mindless. Not done here. In this book Aaron blow's me away. His inner dialogue - absolutely fantastic. I don't want to give anything away, but gah... loved it.

It's 7 am and I'm wasted tired, because I read both books straight through until dawn. I can say, without hesitation that I highly recommend this book to those who are prepared for the dark content. Rape/Non-Con/Torture

After reading the first book in this series, I wasn't sure that I would continue. I am so glad that I did. This was a much better story then its predecessor. The disparity of the two storylines made for a much more emotionally charged read to me. The hope of fixing a broken love and getting back your happy life, compared to enduring hell and just trying to survive couldn't be further apart, and seeing this in the one story affected my heartstrings more than I would have thought.

The first book was like a poor relative of the Flesh Cartel serial, but with this addition to the story, I feel that this series is more than able to stand up as its own story.

I am very much looking forward to more of this.

This is a gripping second installment on the Broken Series.

You instantly dive into where you were left off.
We see the torn relationship between Sebastian and Eric, but the passion the lays beneath the hurt is still strong.

Our poor Aaron is still under Vincent's mercy. The buyer is getting impatient and Vincent needed Aaron ready, like yesterday. Gone is the relaxed life of a prisoner. ( if there is a relax life). Out comes pain training and conditioning. He has to get Aaron ready, the new Master will kill him if he goes to him as the way he is now.

Once again my 3 dickheads, (which I call them) are here to play with Aaron. While Aaron has learned from Vincent that if he does what he's told he won't be punished. He tries. Tries hard, but Aaron breaks. While Vincent is there to pull him back up, he knows he can't take the punishment. But, Vincent is dealing with this own needs.

Meanwhile we get to meet Carson, the mastermind with muscles and connections that keep everything afloat. He s seriously angry. Sebastian is getting to close and it has the high paying client spooked. Now, Aaron is of no use and Carson leaves it to Vincent and our 3 favorite Dickheads to teach Aaron a lesson. A lesson that will leave him forever broken.

Or can he come back? Is he broken forever? I can't wait to read what comes next! I'm hooked!

This books is full of bursting characters that leave you hating and loving Simultaneously. All while you are left sitting on your seat. Because it couldn't get any worse right?? Wrong. Hell has just started.

Why do I do this to myself? Why?! Shit, fuck, damn!

I can't even... I just can't. It was terrible and horrible and I'm a mess for poor Aaron. A. Mess. And Eric & Sebastian... what the heck? That's pissing me off, royally.

Vince, you evil bastard, son of a bitch asshole. Carson, you stupid dick. What are you guys thinking? I mean, I know you're sick fucks but seriously? This is not Aaron's fault! So unfair! This whole thing is unfair and not the least bit nice. And if these two are not bad enough, we have the trio of jerks. OMG.

The last chapters of this book killed me beyond belief. Aaron is tortured terribly. TERRIBLY. Three isn't anything good about what's going on here. Poor Aaron is trying to do his best so that he can have some kind of reward, but he just get's punished more. FOR NOTHING IN HIS CONTROL! I'm so pissed off right now, I want to throw my iPad out the window of my office. I need to walk away and take a hike down the block and blow off some steam.

Kol, you evil, evil man. For everything I'm pissed off at, I'm dying for the next book. This took a turn that I was expecting, yet didn't think it would go this far. Maybe. I don't know what I thought anymore. I do know that this is a book that totally gets to me and I need more.

Book 2 was a little bit harder on me.

*reaches over for a Kleenex*

Aaron is still going through so much. He has given up hope. And he has accepted this as his fate. But regardless of all the shit he's been through he still had a fight in him. Even if it was just in the form of his thoughts, it was a fight none the less. But, the last scenes....

Vincent. What can I say about Vincent. That jerk has me just as confused. I wanted to do things to him and they weren't all bad :/

It seems this is not the end to Aaron's story. All I can say is if [spoiler removed] I'll bust into that joint and take matters into my own hands! I'm just saying.....

This is the second episode of the series Broken. These are NOT stand alone books and should be read in order. In Hell and Beyond we are taken further down the road of Aaron's captivity. Again Kol Anderson has the voice to pull this off, to have you feeling things you are not entirely comfortable feeling.

I said this in the first episode review. but it bears repeating, if rape and violence and introducing the reader to the stark reality of a situation is NOT your cup of tea, or you have serious triggers around this and non consensual everything, then walk away, this is not for you. Kol does NOT hold back on where Aaron goes and what he does to survive, and takes us, the reader, with him.

I hated what Aaron went through, I hated the manipulations that Vincent did, most of all I hated the fact that I feel anything other than hate for Vincent. Really how the hell did that happen?? I did not want the book to end because I hate so called "cliffhangers". But I need to know what happens with Aaron, I need to know that he can survive and thrive and gets everything he deserves and wants in this world. I need the next one so Kol can make sure I am with Aaron again. Aaron is the kind of person that you hope you would be like in this situation. the kind of person who deserves the best life can give him, not the shit that he has been dealt.

This is the sequel to 'Prisoner'. The horrors continue and it's getting worse.

OMG How can anyone survive this torture? How much can a human body endure?

The last beating is brutal and didn't make sense at all. Aaron has no clue what is going on and Sebastian will never hear about it. Why torture an 'investment' so brutal if its purpose is to earn money?

The ending made me jump out of my chair. WTF? I need to read the next installment as soon as I get my fingers on it. :)

Holy fuck. I don't know if giving this book a 4 star rating makes me a sick fuck or not.

Aaron literally goes through hell and then some and I honestly do not know how that kid is still alive. My heart is fucking breaking for him and the hopelessness surrounding him. Everyone in this book is a sick fuck and I honestly don't know how to feel about it.

I love a messed up story line and holy hell this is definitely fucking messed up.

On to the next

This is the toughest series i have had to get through in a long time. It is so tragic.
No i know on some level, darkness runs through me. I usually find enjoyment in something this demented, not to say that I didn't. I just found it hard to concentrate. There was definitely pleasure, however, there was sadness and pain. I feel for Aaron, he does everything in his power to hold on and survive.

Whoa!
Not only sadistic but horrifying! Poor Aaron, I can't imagine being in his place throughout this terrifying second book. I hope they all get what is coming to them and hopefully book 3 will give me those answers. I can't imagine Aaron could ever truly recover. And obviously there is still more to learn about Sebastian and Eric. I hate sadists!
