Upon his return from the Second Falklands War, Arthur goes to work at a physics laboratory on Long Island. There he meets Tanesha, and together they participate in Project Earth’s first interstellar space launch. Arthur is very British. Tanesha is from the ghetto. Arthur is haunted by memories of war, while Tanesha struggles with memories of her childhood in Chicago. The two could not be more different, and yet they are drawn to each other. At the same time, they are caught up in a web of intrigue and deception surrounding Starshot. Tanesha is torn between Arthur and Yuri, a dashing, athletic Russian physicist. Then Starshot is sabotaged and the launch fails. Is Yuri to blame? At the same time, the clandestine operation “Quiet Earth” will stop at nothing to prevent Earth from being detected by hostile aliens. Soon Arthur and Tanesha are fighting for their lives and the success of Starshot. Will Quiet Earth shut down Starshot to save our planet, at the expense of destroying Arthur and Tanesha?
