This book is super fun. Newt is funny! I enjoyed the look of the book and the variety of recipes. I felt so nostalgic going through it because at UCI I ate so much of this stuff. He is a hard worker and an inspiration! Thank you for the gifted copy, Harvest Books!

Here’s what I made:
🍤 Shrimp Toast- I was baffled by how bland this was after adding SO much seasoning to the shrimp mix.
🧀 Grilled Cheese- I’d never made grilled cheese with shredded cheese and I was scared I’d have a mess on my griddle but it totally worked. The sandwich was filling and delicious. Great blend of cheeses on the amazing Franz gf sourdough.
🌮 Quesabirria Tacos- These were DELECTABLE but took 5 hours so I may never make them again. And omg the birria ramen with the leftover consommé was what dreams are made of.
🧄 Garlic Noodles- This probably should have been a side (it even says to serve it with a protein) but I ate it alone and loved it. The flavor was sweet and funky and great. Probably even better if I could have found gluten free Maggi seasoning!

i've been watching newt's videos for years and knew i had to check this out. the recipes here are great for beginners, and it's clear a lot of care went into this book.

this cookbook also is surprisingly heartfelt, with many recipes attached to significant moments and people in newt's life—especially is family. the narratives are hilarious and distinctly newt. if you've ever seen his cooking videos, you know how he speaks, and his voice comes through crystal clear in his writing.

I got this book after seeing it displayed at my local public library-so yay to that!

I loved reading about Newt talking about his family (especially his mom!). The food looked so good-I really want to try the veggies (gotta stay healthy!), bun bo hue, fried chicken, pad see ew, kimchi fried rice, and doenjang jigae, to name a few!

Love it!

As an Asian American, it’s hard to find recipes or cookbooks that has food that matches my taste when I want to do some fusion style recipes.

His book is heartfelt with stories he incorporated from his life.

I love the different sections of his cookbook with different recipes from different countries!

Recipes are easy to follow! Would recommend.
