The first story of the LOVESTRUCK series, a “spirited” comedy romance (rated PG)…
Bad-boy Danny D’Leon is handsome and rich. And not the marrying kind. He thinks. Good-girl Mona Carmichael agrees. She thinks he’s a louse, and not without reason. They both made a big mistake getting involved even briefly. But since they did, and that fateful fling left Mona in, shall we say, a compromised position, it’s time for Danny to grow up and make the marriage commitment, despite Mona’s resistance, his own doubts, and some dubious help from a clairvoyant grandmother… No, this is not going to be easy.

Marrying Mona ~ Lovestruck ~ Book 1, by Mimi Riser is a cute short story. It combined an insightful, caring, scheming, and magical Grandmother, a Romero Grandson and a romantic young woman. Both young people had common goals, good hearts and were attracted to each other and followed Grandma's plan to a happy ending. For a short story, it had a humorous plot, great character development and was fun to read.
A good story for the most part. I kept feeling at a loss while reading and figured it out, I couldn't picture what was going on. I didn't know what period of time it was or where in the world and lacked characterization. The basic story premise was good and the ending along with setting up the next book was good.
Maybe I'm old fashioned but when I'm reading a story, I want to know who it involves, what it is about and where it takes place and when. I also want to know these answers within the first chapter.
Okay, this was just plain strange. I am going to give it 2 stars because Angelica was hilarious and made me miss my grandmother a Whole LOT. This was just alright but it was so predictable to be a short story I could not rate it higher. Good Quick Read just not for me.
