This is the story of Will, who has known little love in his life, and Leah, whose craving for deep attachment and fear of not getting it has kept her from letting anyone love her for longer than she can remember.

This was an edge-of-your seat romance that left me desperate to know not whether the two would get together, but when, why, and HOW. The thing about ADDICTED TO YOU was that it used very few of the typical romance-novel tropes - almost nothing about this romance was predictable.

Every interaction between Leah and Will left me breathless - even just their casual conversation. Brennan infused these characters with a palpable heat and hunger for each other, but also something deeper - the potential, waiting just beneath the surface and straining to emerge, for closeness, trust, and healing.

Even when she was treating Will deplorably, I felt Leah's pain just as excruciatingly as she did. Every glare, snap, and snub held so much simmering hurt underneath that I wanted to reach out and comfort Leah, just like Will did.

I absolutely ADORED best friends Helena and Finn and found myself grinning whenever either of them showed up. A control freak and a cocky theater nerd with an inferiority complex, respectively, these were minor characters I had never seen before - a refreshing change indeed.

Near the end of the novel, when Leah comes to a very important realization about her feelings for Will, all I could do was sit there, frantically flipping through the remaining pages and smiling like an idiot. The sheer turbulence of Leah as a character and of this entire book, completely threw me for a loop in the most wonderful way possible.

Leah's internal musings are snarky and at times self deprecating or fantastical, but always hilarious. I laughed out loud so many times, even in the midst of the most serious scenes.

The sex in this book doesn't litter, doesn't overpopulate, and it CERTAINLY doesn't bore. Every touch, every kiss, every physical act between these two is loaded with emotion and significance.

Everything about ADDICTED TO YOU sparkles, and nothing about it is your average romance. One of my all-time favorites, this one's getting tucked into my "favorites" folder to stay.

Congratulations to Colina on a stunning debut. Highly recommended.

****

An electrifying, edge-of-your-seat, stunningly outside-the-box romance. Amazing.

Addicted to You is a fun and entertaining New Adult romance that is perfect for a quick reading fix. As of late, I’ve been having a hard time diving into a book… possibly because of the summer heat or simply due to the fact that nothing seems to grab my interest. Well, thank you Colina Brennan for quickly catching my attention with your likeable characters and keeping me interested in their story with their entertaining dialog and tension filled romance.

In Addicted to You, Leah and Will meet in the most unlikely of circumstances. Leah is attending sex therapy lessons as a hefty price when a one-night stand of hers burglarizes her apartment and her roommate forces her to pay for her reckless ways through therapy. Will is a student at the local university and is working for a professor when he’s asked to attend the sessions as part of a research project. When Will and Leah meet, the sparks begin to fly. However, they each have a past that seems to influence their actions.

Overall, I liked Leah and I quickly came to sympathize for her character. Hearing her backstory and reading how close she was with her brother Elijah, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of sadness for Leah despite how guarded and standoffish she was towards others. I completely understood why she protected herself against relationships and friendships. Will was not hard to fall for. I mean what girl is immune to boyish charm wrapped around a Scottish accent? Will was a perfect compliment to Leah hard edges and it was fun to see these two collide.

Together they made the perfect pair and I rooted them on from the very beginning. Where Addicted to You surprisingly falls short on the steam-factor, there’s no lack of chemistry between these two characters, and I enjoyed their story immensely! Well done!

Humorous, heartwarming, and addicting, Addicted to You was just the lakeside read I needed. Though I expected a grittier storyline because of the subject matter, I enjoyed every aspect of the book and finished it in one sitting.

Leah, a twenty-one-year-old attending therapy for sex addicts, is a lovable grumpy beauty who doesn't believe she has a problem. In my opinion, she doesn't have one either, at least not a major one of the sexual variety. Her problems stem from her family and the fact she doesn't let anyone in deeper than skin—not even that. She hides behind a facade of a stone-cold ice queen. But when she does care, she cares—deeply. She's loyal, nurturing, and determined, especially when it comes to her younger brother whom she raised and her one friend and roommate, Helena, who forced her into therapy.

Enter Will, a sizzling-hot, down-to-earth Scot. Attending the therapy sessions, he does have a problem.

"My weekends are usually spent with multiple strangers. Also, I have two closets full of porn at home, organised by hardcore level and/or fetish and I go through three tubes of lubricant a week. I think I might have a problem."

Too bad his problem is that all of that is a lie. Attending sex therapy under pretense, he's researching for a professor's book. As he gets to know Leah, he learns how much they have in common and struggles between his assignment, telling her the truth, and the addiction he now has of her.

I loved their interaction. Leah has a bit of an attitude, which is transparent in her narration and actions, yet it's the kind of attitude that made me smirk, laugh, and choke on my drink. Will has genuine charm that could melt anyone into puddle. Together, these two kept me smiling and warmth—sometimes, even heat—to rise from my chest to my face.

The secondary characters were just as fantastic, distinctive and jumping from the page. I especially adored Finn, Will's bisexual friend. I want a story focused on him so he can get his happily ever after.

I could've done with more of the sex (Hi, I'm Raina, and I'm addicted to reading steamy scenes). Because the premise included sex addiction, I expected ... well, more of it. There is a good amount of UST (unresolved sexual tension), but no raw, gritty, downward-spiraling sex that comes with the hindering affliction; hence, why I don't believe Leah had a true problem of sex addiction.

I did, however, appreciate the fact that the subject was broached spot-on. Sex as an addiction is like alcohol in alcoholism. Both start from deeper problems and cloak the issues as a way to drown them out or fill a hole. Addicted to You   isn't so much about sex or addiction but about the trigger, and the author delivered them with nice depth yet lightly enough to make the book and romance highly enjoyable.

Well-developed characters, enchanting relationships, and a thorough plot, Addicted to You   was a more-than-satisfying New Adult Romance that still somehow left me wanting more. It was fast, fun, sexy. I can see myself becoming addicted to the author's work, and I'm looking forward to it.

Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Addicted to You follows Leah who is attending therapy for sex addiction, despite being sure she doesn't have a problem. Only things get more complicated when the mysterious "Blue Eyes" starts turning up to therapy sessions and she finds her willpower well and truly tested.

I was sent this book to review as part of the Addicted to New Adult promotion and I was immediately hooked by that synopsis. I was completely intrigued about the idea of a character attending therapy for sex addiction because the subject is something that is brought up in the media a lot. I liked how it was handled and how it didn't ridicule the idea of sex addiction like so many people do. Leah ends up going because her friend and roommate forces her after a one night stand burgles her apartment. Despite the fact Leah isn't a full blown sex addict, it's quite clear she has relationship issues and so it was interesting to see that explored and learn about her past and what's influenced the way she sees herself and her relationships with others.

The book is told in chapters alternating between Leah and Will, a psychology research student who is sent undercover to Leah's therapy group to learn more about the treatment process from the inside. Cue instant attraction and a developing love story! Needless to say the romance doesn't run smoothly, especially considering the fact that Will is hiding the fact he isn't a genuine sex addict. I loved the ups and downs in their relationship and the amazing chemistry and sexual tension between the two of them. This was quite a short book so I could maybe have done with a bit more build up in the beginning, but as soon as the two characters started talking and interacting you could just feel the connection. And there are plenty of intense and steamy scenes to look forward to!

I have to say Will completely made this book for me. I rarely say this about any character, but he was definitely swoon-worthy. I mean, he's Scottish (any guy with an accent is instantly more attractive, right?) he's adopted a stray cat called Bonny (he loves animals = cute) and he really looks out for Leah. New fictional boyfriend material, for sure. I defy you to read this book and not fall for Will!

The characters in Addicted to You are a real strength and, despite the short length of the story, are incredibly well developed. I felt like I really got to know them and the attention to detail when building those characters was wonderful. When I wasn't swooning over Will I was definitely drawn to Leah who is extremely likable. I loved her relationship with her little brother Elijah, who she's pretty much taken sole responsibility for. They just had such a great bond and I always love seeing brother/sister relationships like theirs that really come from the heart. She's a student who dreams of being a writer and I really liked that glimpses into that creative side of herself.

As well as Leah and Will, the smaller characters had their time to shine as well. Leah's best friend Helena and Will's best friend Finn get their own little plotlines which I was just as invested in. They also provided that humour between friends which made it a very enjoyable read. I could really relate to Leah and Helena's friendship as well, as it felt so realistic and recognisable.

Addicted to You delivered incredible characters and a romance I got totally carried away with. I thought the premise was really unique and the writing gripping and well executed. I only wish it was longer so I could spend more time with Will! If you love NA then you won't want to miss this one.

*I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a honest review*

I really enjoyed the story and characters in Addicted to You. The author did a great job making the reader feel the sexual tension between Leah & Will right from their first meeting.

Leah had a loveless childhood and used casual sex to fill in that need. She was afraid to let anyone get too close. She had the power to sleep with someone and then make it go away so she wouldn't have to worry about getting hurt again. I do believe that Leah was a good hearted person capable and wanting of unconditional love. It was apparent in her relationships with Elijah and Helena. Meeting Will threw her life into a tailspin. She started to feel, which she believed was dangerous. Her brain kept telling her that she couldn't open her heart to another person, but her heart just wouldn't listen to her brain.

Will. Oh swoon worthy, gorgeous, blue-eyed Scottish accented Will. Who wouldn't fall in love with him? Will fell just as hard for Leah when he saw her as she did for him. He had reservations though, mainly because he met her at a meeting for sex addicts. I would say that's a pretty good reservation. There was just something about her though, he couldn't resist. Leah had her issues, but Will also had some of his own. It almost seemed as though both of their parents were cut from the same cloth. Leah & Will both seemed to be looking for love and could possibly find it with each other.

This was a really great story with likable characters. They made me want to read more about them. I would highly recommend reading this book.

New Adult romance by debut author.

A pleasant enough read; nothing earth-shattering.

The hero is one of those idealized, perfect-perfect boys ("the hottest
thing on two legs in all of North America") who only has eyes for the h from the start despite other chicks constantly hitting on him. Yawn. The heroine, who is in Sex Addicts Anonymous, is more problematic with her flat-out denials of any problems. I thought the H's bisexual best friend kinda stole every scene he was in. I look forward to his book next since I rarely read romances with bisexuals as protagonists.

It was a decent debut, a promising series.
I like the characters, the dialogue can be hilarious and though sometimes too cheesy. I cringed. Nonetheless the plot are seemly. If you are craving for a light read with few sass in there. This book are for you.

At A Glance
Addicted To You started out slow and never really picked up. But I did enjoy reading it.

The Good
If you are looking for a cute and sexy read, this is the book for you. Addicted To You is a relaxed, fast read. It's just perfect for taking your mind off the real world without getting you too stressed out by the story.

Leah has a lot of problems trusting people and getting close to them. So she lives off one night stands. But when she finally meets a man who she can see spending time with, she runs away. I liked Leah's surliness. She's rude and you either deal with it or not, she doesn't care either way. But it's just a defense mechanism. But Will sees past her tough exterior and wants to know more about this beautiful, complicated girl. Will was all kinds of yummy. He's Scottish for one thing. He's determined and playful. He's Scottish. He is the sweetest thing since sliced bread. And did I mention he's Scottish? I have it bad when it comes to accents, even in books. It was a nice change up that Will was sweet and kind, not an alpha bad boy. He cuddles with his cat for goodness sakes.

This is also a fun read. The concept was quirky. The sex addicts group had me holding my sides with laughter. But there was also a nice balance of seriousness too. Leah's parents were pretty messed up and they added some good drama. Leah's brother really stood out to me. He is so young and adorable, and strong despite his uncaring parents. Leah and her brother's relationship was amazing. That's how siblings should act towards on another, so supportive and caring.

This story offers likable characters and a sweet but sexy romance. The story flows and keeps you reading.

The Bad
The biggest problem with this book is that it's so slow. Nothing really ever happens. Don't expect any big revelations, huge fights, or major issues. Everything was pretty monotone. This is not an exciting read, it's just sweet but sexy. Addicted To You is overall underdeveloped. And though I liked the characters, they lacked development too. We didn't learn enough about Will to satisfy me. And I really wanted to know more about him.

The Snuggly
I think the sex in this book was a perfect representation of the new adult genre. There was loads of sexual tension, some sexy situations, and a full sex scene. But nothing was lewd or overdone.

Leah and Will start out in lust with each other and it takes forever for them to get together, but I really liked them as a couple. They were so cute.

Final Thoughts
Despite the story and characters being underdeveloped, I enjoyed my time with Addicted To You. I was in the mood for a relaxing read, so it worked out perfectly. Recommended.

Quotes
“I’m here because I, uh, love sex.... Probably too much,... I’m not selective about with whom. Or where. Or when.... I’ve made my rounds through the internet chatrooms, the ones that allow you virtual one-offs with strangers... My weekends are usually spent with multiple strangers. Also, I have two closets full of porn at home, organized by hardcore level and/or fetish, and I go through three tubes of lubricant a week. I think I might have a problem.”

“She drew slow, deep breaths through her nose to steady herself. Just faintly, she caught the scent of what must have been either his cologne or his soap. Fresh sea. Warm sun. Rich earth. It made her want to press her face into that tiny dip at the base of his neck and inhale deeply. Geez, maybe she really did need help.”

“Never let it be said that Will wasn’t up for a challenge. He had no intention of letting her make him a one night stand. Whether she felt the same or not, Will would show her that he was an addiction worth keeping.”

*Also posted at Oops! I Read A Book Again*

Thank you to Giselle of Xpresso Book Tours and Colina Brennan for the review copy! This in no way affected my views of the novel.

Truth be told, I think this book warrants four stars. It was well-written, the characters were engaging and the plot was both familiar yet fresh. However, all throughout the novel, I was detached from the story and from the characters. I get where everyone's coming from and I fully support them and I want them to grow. But it was as if I was watching the characters and the story from a distance. I wasn't THAT immersed in the story and I didn't feel like I was there with them. This is all because of me though and I'm pretty sure most of you will enjoy this novel. I think that if I wasn't in that mood the day I read this, I would have given it four stars.

So what made me so detached from this novel? First, when I read that Will was Scottish, I groaned. It's just that I guess I've had my fair share of hot Scottish men in NA. Then I've also had my share of girls who pretend they don't care at all or derive intimacy not from emotions but from physical contact. But what's great about Addicted to You is that even though these characters have been done before, they were still enjoyable to read. Addicted to You is a short read and I read it so fast as the pacing of the story was wonderful and the characters, even with my initial issues, were fantastic. Will was sweet and swoony and Leah was grumpily awesome. She has sass and her quips were fantastic. Her friendship with her best friend was top-notch as well. Her motherly relationship with her younger brother was so touching too.

Moreover, this is my first sex addiction story. And while Leah isn't truly a sex addict but more of a no-relationship gal, I truly appreciated how Colina Brennan discussed and featured actual sex addicts in the story. Family issues are present as well in this novel as both our hero and heroine have dysfunctional families. It also tackled gender and sexuality and any novel dealing with that has brownie points from me.

But my favorite aspect of the novel was how their romance bloomed. Leah kept on pushing Will away while Will kept on trying to get Leah to take a chance on him. Will's a psychology student and I dig how he gets Leah not only because he studies people's behavior but because he also has almost similar experiences and that he sees right through her. While the novel is short, their romance didn't feel rushed. I also adored the secondary characters and how they ultimately helped Leah and Will get together too. Finn is the best!

Overall, Addicted to You was a not-so-graphic, well-plotted, enjoyable and satisfying new adult novel that packed several issues into its short run. I definitely recommend this to contemporary new adult romance fans!

I can’t express my happiness when I won this autographed book! Despite her being a new writer and this being her first book, it’s an honor to be the first to read it. And an autographed version! Wow!
Chapter after chapter, I was completely fascinated with everything. With a unique and original story, the author makes us understand its characters and you even feel like you know them. I found myself in another "world" completely.
I loved the touch of humor that you find in abundance throughout the book, reminding me of the same humor used by one of my favorite authors, Sherrilyn Kenyon. Another similar aspect to this author is the steamy scenes. So well-constructed and described, they make our heart rate rise.
I can say that I was completely addicted on this book, which is according to its theme, and I fell madly in love by "Blue Eyes" (the name that Leah gives Will). He really is a sweet character, far from the typical "bad boys" from nowadays. In fact, he is a pure heart, loving and helpful. A tender man! Leah, "Grumpy beauty" (as Will always thinks), is a girl who confuses us a bit, but when her story is revealed, there is no way to misunderstand her. Their love story is a dream! Anyone would love to have a romance like this...
I conclude by advising this book to those who like funny, spicy romances, and I sincerely hope that this writer has the success she deserves in her writing.

Não posso expressar a minha alegria quando ganhei este livro autografado pela autora! Apesar de ser uma escritora nova, sendo este o seu primeiro livro, é uma honra poder ser das primeiras pessoas a lê-lo. E logo uma versão autografada! Uau!

(This review was originally posted at My Library in the Making.)

I don't know what I expected from Addicted to You, but it certainly wasn't what I got. From their first chapters, I enjoyed Leah's and Will's voices, although I probably would have appreciated it more had the book been written in first person POV.

From the get-go, we are introduced to Leah's tough and closed-off exterior, but I knew that beneath the permanent scowl was a girl who felt a lot, it scared her. And she's a budding writer! Now, she might claim to despise poetry, but I read enough to know that she's good at writing it. Anyway, I didn't like how Leah was so reluctant to own her feelings and pushed them away instead. She was so disbelieving of the whole concept of love—well, except for her brother and best friend—even though she knew it was what she felt for Will. But both of those she did understandably so when one spared a glance at her parents.

Admittedly, a major case of insta-lust went on in here, and some might even argue that lust was all there was between Leah and Will—backed up by the fact that they couldn't keep their hands and mouths to themselves when they were together—but I saw beyond every glance and every smile. And really, who can blame Leah for wanting to hump Will at first sight? He was a gorgeous-as-hell Scottish with piercing blue eyes, but he was no bad boy! He was actually very sweet, considerate, and thoughtful, and he knew how to stop and rein himself back when a girl said no. Still, this boy sure knew how to flip his sexy and naughty switch.

Although the book was mainly about Leah and Will, that didn't make the secondary characters uninteresting; in fact, their variety added flavor to the story and made the two MCs lives much more fleshed-out and real. Even the other sex addicts in Leah's sessions provided a lot of laughs, thanks to their ridiculously outrageous sex lives.

I loved how the simplest thing prevented the story from dragging infuriatingly like other similar books: communication. Leah and Will used that basic tool like the adults that they were, simplifying everything that stood between them, and went after what and who they wanted instead of sulking in a corner.

Funny, touching, and utterly realistic, Addicted to You had everything I love in a book. It portrayed "new adults" in a real light, with their frustrations, insecurities, and reluctance. And although the ending left quite a handful of opened doors, I don't mind it one bit because it just made the story live on longer in my head.

MY FAVORITE PART was the moment Will first entered the group session. "I Knew You Were Trouble" much? XD

Here we have a NA book with a bit of a twist on how two can fall in love.

For Leah she is forced to join the local sex addict group after her she gets robbed from a one night stand. Here she is her typical stand off bitchy self until one day everything changes.

Will is a doing some research on addictions and poses as a sex addict.

Will has great intentions until he meets Leah. Instantly they are drawn to one another but both know it is wrong.

For Leah she may act like a bitch but in reality she has a soft heart and just wants to be loved but doesn't know how.

Two addicts normally shouldn't be together but add in deception and lies you are asking for a world of trouble.

Both of them have shitty up bringing which causes a common thread between them....loneliness.

Finally truths come out, sexual tension is tamed and little brothers steal your heart.

This was a sweet book about love when you least expect it but deserve it.

So disappointed.
I really thought this book was going to be awesome, but sadly it was quite plain.
Nothing happens in this book, and it's quite short, so you don't really get the time to care for the characters.
I did like the base line of this story, but that was about it..

I'm going to review this in more detail soon, but (spoiler alert), I loved it. Couldn't put it down. It's a little different from some other NA out there (including mine!) because it's much more about anticipation than action, but we all know that can be just as sweet.

Plus, I have an affinity for Scottish boys. You'll see why very soon!

For me, this book was a mix of good and bad. There were times that I really liked it and times I was either rolling my eyes or shaking my head. Addicted To You is a New Adult contemporary book that centers around Leah and Will who meet at a sex addict meeting. While there are serious parts to this book, there were also a lot of light-hearted and funny moments that kept me turning the pages. This story was a quick read that I am sure many New Adult fans will love.

After her most recent one night stand burglarized their apartment Leah is forced to attend twenty sessions of sex addicts meetings in order to appease her roommate Helena. With only a few sessions left Leah is biding her time. Until a handsome stranger with blue eyes walks in and changes everything for her. Will is a psychology major working as a research assistant for a professor and is asked to attend the sex addicts meetings to gather material for his professor's latest research project. But he is instantly drawn to the beautiful girl who spends her time in the meetings glaring at the rest of the addicts. He knows that she is there for a reason, and yet he can't help but think that she is nothing like the rest of the members. As time goes on the two of them end up running into each other many times and the attraction becomes more than either can fight even though they still don't know the other's name. When it becomes clear that both of them are developing feelings for the other, they begin to wonder how a relationship between them could ever work with the lies and secrets that are in between them. After everything is revealed, can they possibly have a normal relationship and find happiness with each other?

I liked Will. He was handsome, sweet, and who doesn't love a man with an accent? Originally from Scotland he has moved to America to make a life for himself. I loved that he was a man that would go after what he wanted in all things and was willing to move to another country to obtain it. I loved that he was so nice to Leah's little brother Elijah and the scenes with the two of them were some of my favorites. Same with the scenes between Leah and Elijah. Leah was a hard one for me to like. I am all for a heroine who is comfortable with her sexuality and isn't ashamed. But some of the things that Leah would say or think just really had me disliking her, especially considering that she was basically a mother to Elijah. It just seemed as though she was setting a bad example. I thought that Leah's character was a bit more standoffish than I would have liked, but I do understand that after her past and upbringing why she would guard herself against others. I think that Will was the perfect compliment to her character though, and he really was able to help her grow and round out some of her rough edges. I did like the characters of this story. Elijah was great as were the friends of both Will and Leah. I thought that some of the more entertaining parts were when the secondary characters were involved.

For a book that centers around sex and the addiction to it, this story had a huge lack of sex and I found myself wanting more. There were a few interactions between Will and Leah, but they were brief. I would have liked a little more steam and sexiness because Leah and Will did seem to have some great chemistry going on. Overall, this book was a quick and easy read, if a bit predictable. I never really felt a connection to the characters though and I think that is why this story won't be a memorable one for me. I think that a lot of people will enjoy this story, especially fans of the New Adult genre. I just think that I was expecting more and found myself a little disappointed. If you like sweet New Adult books that are funny and end with an HEA, I think that you would probably enjoy this story and should give it a shot.

Wow, what a completely different idea for a novel! I absolutely loved that our MC's first meet in therapy for sex addicts! The plot is so unique and fresh- I am so glad Brennan decided to go in a different direction than a lot of other NA's have lately.

Leah, our main character, has agreed to attend therapy, as her roommate believes her to have a problem. Leah, however, doesn't believe herself to be a sex addict. She just prefers one night stands. She is so emotionally closed off that she gets bored after being with a guy once and therefore doesn't do relationships. Leah was a bit of a difficult character to like. She is angry, moody, and not overly open. She is closed off to others and the only person we really see her show tenderness and care to his her little brother Elijah. However, Leah grew up in a household where her parents were not overly affectionate and in fact, her mother didn't even want to have her brother at all. Leah begged her to keep him (and not abort him!) and promised she would take care of him. Leah has been the one to take care of her younger brother and from a young age has accepted more responsibility than a teenager should. Now, in college, Leah goes to her parents every day to take care of her 9 year old brother. I can't even imagine what this must be like. Especially for poor Elijah. It's not right to even address his mother as 'Mom' seeing as she only gave birth to him and occasionally helped Leah out in order to teach her. Both of these kids deserve actual parents who care and their lack of affection has really messed Leah up. It isn't until she meets a gorgeous blue- eyed boy in therapy that she actually wonders if she could form a relationship with him and maybe feel something more.

Will is not actually a sex addict. He is posing as one for a case study he is working on at school. The last thing he ever expected was to walk in and meet beautiful Leah, who intrigues him. He stands up for her against some of the other addicts to which she informs him that he doesn't need to defend her. He immediately sees that she is self-sufficient and getting to know her won't be an easy task. Yet, Will can somehow break down Leah's defenses and she does end up letting him in and divulging tidbits about herself during a paired therapy activity. I really liked Will's character. He is Scottish (mega bonus points for that!) and while I wish we would have gotten a bit more about him and his life, you can tell by the fact that he has no plans of returning to Scotland, that things aren't necessarily rainbows and butterflies for him. Both Will and Leah confess to being lonely and I think that really forms a connection for them. Will is ready to jump in with Leah, but knows his lying isn't going to go over very well with her. He realizes that he must come clean and tell her the truth, but also knows he could easily lose the girl he so desperately wants to make his.

Elijah is another bright spot in this somewhat dark novel. Leah's relationship with her brother is just so sweet and the fact that she wants him to move in with her more than anything is just heartbreaking. Her mother is against it, afraid for what that would look like to other people. I really disliked their mother- she was only concerned with keeping up appearances and making good impressions. She did not do the right things for her family and that really rubbed me the wrong way! Elijah also forms an instant attachment to Will, after meeting at a party. Will is kind enough to make promises to Elijah and I think Elijah really looks up to him as a stronger male figure- one that won't let him down.

I did find the plot to be a bit slow going at times, however, Leah and Will really do have enough sexual tension going on to keep you plenty involved in the story. Whew!

Overall, I found this to be a rather enjoyable read and I really liked that it was different and that Brennan created a unique storyline to grab our attention!

An incredibly well written book with a nice pace and great character development, this is a nice short, light read, which I would highly recommend to someone who wants to take the edge off of a book hangover!

After reading the blurb I was really looking forward to reading this book as the plot seemed original and iI really had no idea how things might work out for the characters in this book. Although I liked overall, there were a few things left open that I wanted closed and something stopping me from loving this book as much as I would like to, as at times I found myself getting bored as nothing amazing stood out for me.

Leah was such a great character with so many layers to her. Forced to attend sex therapy by her roommate because of an incident with a one night stand burglarising the contents of their apartment, although she doesn’t feel like she has a problem, she knows it’s something she has to do in order to keep the only friend she has. Straight away you can tell just how broken she is, using sex as a way to control her emotions, due to her parents lack of interest for her, she is determined not to let anyone in, however that all changes when she meets Will.

Usually, faces and conversations were pretty irrelevant to her. It was bodies that mattered, anonymous bodies that let you share quick and mutual pleasure and didn’t ask anything else of you. At least that was how it had worked in Leah’s world since discovering sex and the ability to be close to someone without sacrificing herself in the process.

Blue eyes was different.

From the moment Leah lays eyes on him she knows she wants him but knows that it can’t happen as he is different from other guys and has the potential to get under her skin, which is exactly what he tries his hardest to do. Leah tries to maintain her tough, indifferent exterior, it’s only when Will see’s her with her younger brother (who she cares for as her parents don’t care) that he see’s a completely other side to her as she is funny and caring, and would clearly do anything for her brother.

Although Will knows that Leah is off limits and he has to concentrate on his job, he can’t stop thinking about her and finds himself actively trying to get to know her, in order to figure out why she is the way that she is, if only to make things better for her.

He wanted her to stop being a question so he could start working on how to be her answer.

Pretty soon he finds himself overstepping boundaries and having to figure out a way to tell her the truth about why he was attending sex therapy, in the hopes that she doesn’t hate him. However, finding it hard to trust others as it is, this proves hard for Leah to do. The story touches on Will’s difficult relationship with his parents and his past, and this is something which I wish had been developed further as although I liked him, I feel that going in to his feelings about his parents would have given him more depth, making me like him more.

I LOVED that Will was Scottish in this book as everyone loves an accent, and although I in fact live in Scotland and hear it all the time, I can assure you, there are no Will’s over here…not that I’ve met yet, anyway.

Overall I enjoyed this book but felt that it was missing angst and lacking pull as although I liked and cared about the characters, I didn’t really feel anything about the things that were happening to them or cared enough about the situation as a whole. I also would have liked the author to go further in to Leah’s relationship with her parents, either having them come to a happy middle or having her get her anger at them out so that she could move on with her life without them.

Addicted to You is a really great read. It's hot and sweet and the best part is that it was surprisingly deep and the characters were perfectly formed. It helped me form connections with everyone and fall in love with them. Chapter after chapter, I was completely fascinated with everything. The best part is the story it’s told from Will’s point of view as well. Love it!!!

Leah and Will meet in the most unlikely of circumstances. Leah is a twenty one year old who is attending therapy for sex addicts, but she doesn't believe she has a problem. She hides behind a facade of a stone-cold ice queen, but she's loyal, nurturing, caring, and determined, especially when it comes to her younger brother whom she raised and her one friend and roommate, Helena, who forced her into therapy.

Will is a student at the local university and is working for a professor when he’s asked to attend the sessions as part of a research project. When Will and Leah meet, the sparks begin to fly. But, Leah thinks he has the same problems as her. Too bad his problem is a lie. Attending sex therapy under pretense, he's researching for a professor's book. As he gets to know Leah, he learns how much they have in common and struggles between his assignment, telling her the truth, and the addiction he now has of her.
Near the end of the novel, when Leah comes to a very important realization about her feelings for Will, all I could do was sit there, frantically flipping through the remaining pages and smiling like an idiot

Reading Leah back story and how close she was with her brother Elijah, I couldn't help but feel sadness for Leah. I completely understood why she protected herself against relationships and friendships. She has a bit of an attitude and I love girls like that.
The secondary characters were just as fantastic, distinctive and jumping from the page. I especially adored Finn, Will's bisexual friend, and Helena, Leah’s best friend. I want a story focused on him so he can get his happily ever after.

Addicted to You was the perfect New Adult Romance that still somehow left me wanting more. It was fast, fun, touching, utterly realistic and sexy. It portrayed the story in a real light, with their frustrations, insecurities, and reluctance. Although, the ending left quite a handful of opened doors, I don't mind it. I can see myself becoming addicted to the author's work, and I'm looking forward to it. Congratulations to Colina Brennan on a stunning debut. Highly recommended.

Favorite quotes:

“She drew slow, deep breaths through her nose to steady herself. Just faintly, she caught the scent of what must have been either his cologne or his soap. Fresh sea. Warm sun. Rich earth. It made her want to press her face into that tiny dip at the base of his neck and inhale deeply. Geez, maybe she really did need help.”

“I’m here because I, uh, love sex.... Probably too much,... I’m not selective about with whom. Or where. Or when.... I've made my rounds through the internet chat-rooms, the ones that allow you virtual one-offs with strangers... My weekends are usually spent with multiple strangers. Also, I have two closets full of porn at home, organized by hardcore level and/or fetish, and I go through three tubes of lubricant a week. I think I might have a problem.”

“You’re beautiful,” he whispered against her throat, running a hand slowly down her back.
Her eyes sprang open. Yes, they’d been stumbling toward this night since that first kiss, but one night stands still shouldn't say things like that.
“Don’t be so sentimental,” she said, expecting an angry reaction. But Will merely laughed.
“It’s just an observation,” he said. “I've wanted you since the minute I saw you.”
“Of course you did. We always do. We see, we want, we fuck,” she muttered.

What is the best thing you can do when your last one-night-stand robbed your apartment, left you and your room-mate with nothing and your room-mate decides you need to go to therapy for sex-addicts? Guessed it? Yep, the solution is to fall for a guy in your sex addict meetings.

And this is where the story starts…in a therapy session. Leah, the girl with the bad taste in one-night-stands grudgingly visits the meetings in order to not be kicked out by her room-mate and best friend. In her therapy session we meet a few very original characters that will make you snort your tea through your nose or give you the need to scrub yourself down with acid. That is until the new guy enters the meeting, Mr. Blue Eyes. And no, I am not talking about Sinatra. It is much better than that…a hot, delicious, muscular, sweet and charming psychology student, Will. Not to forget he is Scottish. The word „aye“ never sounded so sexy.

There are sparks flying between him and Leah from the first moment on. But not only are they attracted to each other on a physical level, they are both intrigued by the other, feeling a closeness that should not be there when just meeting someone.

And this is where the problem lies. Leah isn’t good at dealing with emotions due to a cold and distant upbringing. So far the only way she dealt with emotions was to get into a random guy’s pants. She has no idea what to do with the feelings she experiences towards Will, but would want to just get him out of her system by, you know, getting him naked and then forgetting all about him.

Will isn’t willing to let her slip away though. Ready to convince her that he is an addiction worth having, he looks behind her grumpy and rejective demeanour and sees the hurt girl underneath. Too bad that he is lying to her from the start about being a sex addict, as he is a psychology major researching alternative therapy methods for the more unusual addictions.

What will happen when Leah finds out? Will she allow herself to get close to Will or will she run away?
It is best if you find out yourself, but let me tell you the book is so much fun. Witty, sarcastic and incredibly funny, not least because of Leah’s feisty and devil-may-care attitude. The characters were absolutely likeable. Leah’s personality had so many layers and I loved it how due to her interactions with Will, with her room-mate Helena and her little brother Elijah I got to know so much about her character. Besides being the shrew she tries to portray, she is a caring, loving girl that has been disappointed by the people she should have been able to rely on the most.

Will is a perfect book boyfriend. My knees are still all wobbly. He set his mind on winning Leah’s love and damn, this boy is not giving up.

The side characters are well developed too. Not taking away the main focus from Will and Leah, they still get to show their personalities and have depth. I loved that Colina Brennan made the characters quite diverse, which lead to the book being more realistic and interesting.

The sexual tension between Leah and Will….oh my, I thought I am going to spontaneously combust. The back and forth, their making-out sessions, their little remarks here and there….I couldn’t wait for them to actually get it on. If you want to know if they did, you’ll have to read the book.

I give this book 5+ fabulous, mind-blowing stars. Aye, the book is definitely worth reading.

Short, spicy and sweet. What more can I say? This is a simple, to the point, drama free novel that still keeps your entertained and snickering occasionally.

We get a back story within this novel, as we traverse the present. We get to see as Leah winds down sex addicts anonymous, and Will begin his study of this strangely composed group of addicts. I loved all the characters as well as the sessions. The group was not what you expect and that made it much more fun trying to figure out their sexual preferences. I am glad that regardless of the amount of sessions visited, that each session was different, and held a little more piece of this puzzle, for not just the major, but the minor characters.

Will is ... different. Initially, I thought he might be a nerd. He seemed rather shy, reserved and c'mon ... dude owns a cat -_- (No offence guy cat lovers out there!) ... but mix that all together, and I have to say, I was a little suspicious. Anyway, he proved himself to be awesome and quite the Adonis! He was patient, funny, witty and intriguing at times. I loved his relationship with Finn, as well as, their conversations and comrade.

Speaking of Finn, I adored his character and honestly can't wait to read his book. He is the artsy type, but I think I can manage. He has spunk, wit, talent, and to top it all off, he's bisexual! Doesn't get any better than that! ... totally digging this dude! He brings drama and humor of his own kind, and is definitely the life of this party.

Leah is not your usual shy, bad, or indifferent chick. She is all of the above. Maybe with exception to the shy part. She is an ice queen, but god do we love her! She brings fire to this novel, and keeps us laughing with her facial expressions, indifference and all out death glare. I'd want to be this girl friend, but I don't know if she'd go for that.

This story was more than the sex, and actually possessed literally ONE sex scene! If you are reading just for the sex, then you will be sorely disappointed. Though I must say, that even without a mass amount of foreplay, the one and only sex scene was passionate and got me stirring a little ;)

Even little Elijah played his nine year old role well. If anything, I would have loved to spend more time with these characters, and see Leah get some form of challenge with regards to her Scot. Which might I say, had a totally hot accent!!! You might not be able to hear it, but the tidbits of lingo gave me the warm and fuzzes all over! In all honesty, this novel made you feel sexed without having any. It was sensual, deep and light all at the same time. We were never too serious, but we still got a good story without having really bad writing.

To sum it all up, I loved this story. I might have wanted some more drama or a challenge that lasted longer than a mediocre week, but I was kept interested and enjoyed going through the paces with these characters. There was banter, wit, excitement, surprise ... truth be told ... even disgust. But it was all in great fun and humor. I loved the integration of all the characters and I have to say that we got a great novel from it.

If your looking for a chill, laid back read, then this is it. You don't get too deep, but you aren't in the shallow end either. Can't wait for book 2, because I expect a whole lot of drama from Finn and Kat!

New adult book with two graphic sex scenes. A short nice read.

I had no expectation before starting this book, I even thought i'd dislike it. But I decided to just read the first chapter to know if I should forget about it or not.

To my surprise the 2 first chapters were hilarious. It reminded me of the first chapters of TFiOS, with Hazel sitting in her support group judging everyone when this cute guy named Augustus came in. Here we have Leah, pushed by her roommate to attend this support group, mentally hissing at everyone when this hot piece of meat –Will “Blue eyes”- comes in. Not much difference with TFiOS right? Expect maybe that the people gathered here aren’t cancer stricken but… SEX ADDICTS!

I won’t say much about the story line, it’s quite predictable. Basically this book isn’t ground breaking but every character was developed and the pace of the story was nice and quick. Every character was also likeable which is a plus.

I sighed slightly when the author revealed the female main character’s troubles (with her parents) but it was not overdone and she was not whiny about that (nothing wrong with that IRL but i don’t have much compassion for doormat fictive character) so I let it go.

Even though it’s not written in first person narrative, we have both Leah's and Will's point of views which I always like (helps me feel connected to both characters on the same level, I’m a sucker for guy’s POV).

I wished there was a bit more of humor (even though there was still more than I’m used to see in these sort of stories). And I would have appreciated more of construction for the part where they fall in love with each other because it was borderline instant love (they have obvious reason to be attracted and to want to know more about each other but overall it felt rushed).

Leah is a strong character, even though she doesn’t fall into the heroine category. Will is a nice guy – a hot one. The side characters are cool! I was pleasantly surprised by them, they were not the annoying ones and you don’t feel the urge to shush them. And I just wanted to hug Elijah (Leah’s little brother)

“You’re beautiful,” he whispered against her throat, running a hand slowly down her back.
Her eyes sprang open. Yes, they’d been stumbling toward this night since that first kiss, but one night stands still shouldn’t say things like that.
“Don’t be so sentimental,” she said, expecting an angry reaction. But Will merely laughed.
“It’s just an observation,” he said. “I’ve wanted you since the minute I saw you.”
“Of course you did. We always do. We see, we want, we fuck,” she muttered.

A small critic : I’d really appreciate if authors would stop putting this scene in every damn romance book.

“I said move,” she said through clenched teeth.
He considered refusing, but she was already shaking with outrage. He’d pissed her off enough. Reluctantly, he stepped aside.
She yanked the door open.
“Leah—”
The door slammed shut in his face.
“Fuck.” He dropped his forehead against the wood and closed his eyes.
He had lost her.

I know that at some point we all blurted out these lines while slamming a door but I think it’s time for it to retire from literature.

I've been wondering what's keeping my interest on NA books, you basically know how it will go and most of the main characters are all quite similar. I came to a conclusion that it's not the similarities that matter, but the differencies that you find in each book. The emotions and how the story turns around are the most important things. Also, an original plot like Addicted to You, can be what reels me in. This story was genuine, emotional and moving, I adored the characters and really really enjoyed the story.
At first I thought had it all figured out and won't be entertained, but in all honesty this book was the opposite of my expectations. Everytime I thought "Now, she'll just say this or that", she said something completely different, the same about Will.

Underneath that wall of ice, Leah is very passionate, loyal and loving. Her parents are very detatched and haven't really cared for Leah or her younger brother, and because of that there's a lot of bitterness in Leah. She really cares about her brother and wants to take him with her and rize him up in a caring atmosphere.
Aside from that, she seems pretty depressed, she runs from love so she wouldn't get hurt, thus the one night stands. But when she meets Will and finds out that they have a lot in common, she involuntarily starts to open up to him. And Will sees behind that facade of indifference and is determined to make her believe that what they have is real.

I really loved all characters, starting from the secondary and ending with the MC's, they were every enjoyable and I could relate to them. There wasn't an insta!love, the development of Leah and Will's relationship was gradual and their emotions seemed real. They aren't your typical ice queen meets bad boy characters, Will isn't even a bad boy and Leah can't be blamed for her parents nonexistant love. They were honest and adorable, and I loved them.
I loved the humorous streak the secondary characters provided, and their own sappy love stories were a nice addition to the emotional roller coaster.

Colina Brennan has written a genuine and moving story that everyone could relate to. She talks about addictions, friendships, family bonds and true love, ad wraps it all in a warm blanket of emotions. I really enjoyed the writing and even though sometimes it was cliche, I couldn't get over the warm fuzzy feelings I got when I finished it. Cliches sometimes don't matter, you know.

What I found a bit shabby was the ending. The book kicked off with a strong start and mostly keept it up, but the ending felt....dull. Oh, it was HEA and sweet, alright. But I missed something.

And I would have loved a sudden twist in the plot, something that none of the MC's would expect. It was dual POVs so we knew what Will thought and could imagine how it would go.

All in all, Addicted to You was a fantastic and moving love story of two very interesting characters. It was emotional, genuine and truly lovely read. I'd recommend it to anyone who's keen on NA and romance genres.

Who decides sex was an addiction anyway? Or that someone should need therapy to "fix" it? Sex was good for you. It was a de-stresser. If it wasn't, then you were doing it wrong.

This was something completely new in the New Adult spectrum. Sex addiction. Yeah, I've only read about that in very adult books. And while Addicted To You is about sex, it wasn't the main topic of the book. Yes, it was there in very subtle tones throughout the pages, but it wasn't a story just based on two characters getting hot and heavy every chance they got.

Leah Carter's roommate puts her foot down when Leah's latest one night stand robs them of almost everything while they are sleeping. She sends Leah off for twenty sessions of therapy for sex addicts. Nearing the end of her twenty session stint, a new addict joins the group. Will McLean is immediately taken with the standoffish Leah and vows to break through her barriers and get to know her better.

I've read quite a few books now that have the Scottish male lead and I have to say that I'm a sucker for an accent. Can't help it. Get's me every time. So I was in love with Will almost immediately. I say almost because when we first meet Will he's at a sex therapy session and is asked to describe himself, and he describes himself as quite the man whore, and I couldn't possibly imagine how the author was going to make me love this character. Had I have reread the book description before I started reading, I would have saved myself all that worry!! Because like all good stories there is a twist to Will's.

Some people might find Leah a bit harder to like. She is stand offish and abrasive at times. She doesn't put a lot of herself out there for the reader to grab onto. But slowly we get little glimpses into her life and I found myself warming to her more and more. Her relationship with her brother Elijah was beautiful and I think that was where she started to reel me in. She's not had a great home life with her parents being so emotionally and physically detached. She has no friends outside of her roommate and that's all thanks to the wall she's built around herself.

Will's best friend Finn was incredibly perfect. I absolutely loved him and was super excited to see that book two in this series will be his story. He was funny and supportive and arty and witty. Yeah, loved him!! Can't wait to read the next book!!

The heat factor between Leah and Will was... Well, it was hot!!! But that wasn't the basis of their relationship. It went much deeper than the physical and I loved being along for the ride as their feelings grew.

Knowing part of her past was great, but now he wanted to know her present. He wanted her to stop being a question so he could start working on how to be her answer.

Addicted To You was really well written. A quick and easy read, with characters that were incredibly likeable and despite the basis of the story they were really relatable. Give this one a read. I'm sure you'll love it!!
