A second-third grade novel.

It about Geronimo and how he doesn't want to go on adventures. He forced because of his sister. They end up meeting a moving mountain.

This is a generic novel with an generic plot. Don't expect too much from this series. The only aspect of this series i like is the fact that it has harder words for the kids to read and isn't that dumbed down when it comes to terminology.

Miss 5 really liked 'guessing' the solution to the 'moving mountain' before the characters realized the answer. We also liked that Geronimo came up with a respectful solution to preserve the privacy of the natural land while helping the others 'get a story'. Miss 5 doesn't like it when the others are mean to Geronimo / tease him.

Cavemice
What we like: The colourful pictures and exciting fonts. The way colour and interesting fonts are used to highlight words on each page is great for helping Miss 5 learn to read new words. Geronimo is pictured slightly more favourably in the Cavemice series - he tends to be a bit more willing to go on adventures.
Negatives: Apart from Thea (and even she has a tendency to be very pushy and ignore Geronimo) there aren't really any positive female figures in the series.

Miss 5 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.

This book was about one of tiger khan's servant disguised as a mouse and is planning to steal a treasure but unfortunately he doesn't know that there isn't any treasure. i do feel a little bad for him and also the polar clan because they all were stuck in the snow because of the avalanche created by the woolly mammoth. My favourite character is Chippa Cherryfur as he was part of the winter tribe. the winter tribe is a tribe which stays the ice island and i think they are very brave to do so.My favourite part of this book is when the polar bear clan came to fight with tiger khan's servant all the polar bears start arguing with each other i thought was a really funny as it interrupted what was going on.

Always quick and interesting reads. Not sure why I’m continuing on with this, but it’s refreshing to read something fun and juvenile between heavier books.

We are thrilled that you read "The Fast and the Frozen" by Geronimo Stilton. In this adventure, Geronimo teaches us about the value of teamwork and perseverance. Even in the coldest, most challenging situations, he and his friends work together to overcome obstacles. This story shows that, with teamwork and determination, you can accomplish anything. Remember this lesson when working on group projects at school or when playing team sports. Together, everyone achieves more!

Love,
Mom and Dad

I've been reading this series in Spanish, but my library didn't have this one in Spanish, so I got the English version. I think I enjoyed the Spanish versions more. Overall, the book was very simple, but it uses specialized vocabulary and puns that make it a little harder to read for younger children. The pictures are cute and the story is predictable, but fun.
