Rate this book
The first YA fiction novel, from the bestselling adult author Paige Toon.
Meet Jessie, the daughter of Johnny Jefferson, as featured in Johnny Be Good and Baby Be Mine…
My fifteenth birthday was the worst day of my life, and it's inconceivable to think that any single day in my future will ever be as bad. My mum was killed in a freak accident on her way to pick up my cake. Even when there was still no sign of her after two hours later, and my friends started to arrive at our house, it never occurred to me that she wouldn't be coming back.
That was six months ago. My mum died without telling me who my real dad was. And for a while I hated her for it. I thought she's taken the secret of my father's identity with her forever. But she didn't. Holy hell, she didn't. Because three weeks ago I found out the truth. And I'm still reeling from the shock of it. My dad is none other than Johnny Jefferson, mega famous rock star and one-time serial womaniser. And now I'm on my way to LA to meet him and his family.
My tiny little world has just got a whole lot bigger…

This was a cute little YA novel (if a little heavier on the 'Y' than I'm generally into).

Jesse is a 15 year old English girl living with her step dad, Stuart, after her mothers recent & sudden death. Jesse thinks that she will never find out who her birth father is now that her mother has passed away as she never told her, but one day she thinks to ask if Stuart knows. He does, and reveals it is none other than legendary rock star Johnny Jefferson - so off she goes to LA to meet her new dad.

My grievance with this book is that it ends very abruptly - I know there is a sequel (and a third as well), but it reads more as if it just suddenly ended in the middle of the book. There was kind of no resolution to anything at all.

Jesse's character was pretty bitchy and annoying at first, but as I am lucky enough to still have both parents and have no idea how she would have been feeling, il'll forgive her. I did like how she changed and matured throughout the book.

Overall, it was fun, slightly sad and a little bit heart warming.

I hadn't really heard much about this book, until it's sequel, I Knew You Were Trouble, was released in August. Once I read the synopsis, however, I immediately knew this would be a book I'd like. In The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson, Jessie, who just lost her mother in a freak accident before her 15th birthday, has been spiralling out of control. During one of her many arguments with her step-father, Stu, she finally discovers who her biological father is - rock star Johnny Jefferson. To say she's shocked would be an understatement. After wanting to know for so long, she can't help but be desperate to meet Johnny in person. She is flown to LA to meet her father, step-mother, and half-siblings, though under the guise of the children's nanny, in order to protect her identity.

I loved Jessie. Yes, she's a bit of a mess - drinking, smoking, sneaking out, etc. - but what do you expect from someone who's mother suddenly died the day of her 15th birthday. She's upset, and angry. Her mother would never talk about her father, and she thought she'd now lost him forever too. Luckily her step-father knew who Jessie's biological father was, or else she'd never know. When she met Johnny, she was understandly nervous and worried that her new family wouldn't want her there. Jessie was a very 'real' character, and one I could imagine actually going through everything in the book.

I also really enjoyed Jessie's family members too. Though Stu may not have been her 'real' father, he cared for her, a lot, and tried to help her at everything turn. I'm hoping their relationship is explored more in book 2. Barney and Phoenix, Jessie's half-brothers, where the cutest kids ever, and Jessie's relationship with them was dead sweet. Furthermore, Meg wasn't the stereotypical evil step-mother either, which I was pleasantly surprised by. She may have been a bit wary of Jessie at first, but I can see them having a really nice relationship in the future. There wasn't much of a father-daughter relationship between Johnny and Jessie, but what was there definitely laid the foundation for a beautiful one. I loved their little one-to-one talks, and hope to see more of them.

Jessie may be only 15, but that doesn't mean there's no romance blossoming. Back in Berkshire, she has Tom, the guy she's fancied for ages, who has just asked her to the cinema before she flew to America. While she's meeting her new family, she also meets Jack, the son of one of Johnny's old friends, and they grow very close. I'm not sure who I prefer for Jessie, but I'm sure there'll be a lot of angsty relationship stuff in book 2.

Overall, The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson was a really sweet and fluffy UKYA contemporary. I'm glad I have a copy of I Knew You Were Trouble, cause I can't wait to read more of Jessie's story. Definitely a series I'd recommend.

*** Book #3 for The Reading Rush: Read a book with a cover that matches the color of your birth stone (Peridot) ***

Anyone who takes a look at my Read-Shelf will very easily be able to tell that Paige Toon is one of my favorite authors. I absolutely adore her writing and I'm always looking forward to her new releases. However, I had yet to read one of her young adult novels and I'm very happy I finally found time to change that. The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson was a very fun read and once I'd gotten into the novel, I ended up reading most of it in one sitting. I really enjoyed reading the beginning of Jessie's story and I'm definitely going to check out the next book in this series soon!

I am such a superfan of Paige Toon and her adult novels, I have loved each and every single one and I always eagerly await her new novels. This is Paige’s first Young Adult book and I was so excited to read it.

Jessie Jefferson has had the worst time of her life. Her mum recently died, and she has no idea who her real father is, as her mum kept it secret all of her life and died without telling her, leaving her with her stepdad Stu. But when Jessie discovers the truth about her real father, she is in for a shock as it turns out her dad is Johnny Jefferson – THE JOHNNY JEFFERSON – huge famous rockstar and one-time serial womanizer.

I thoroughly enjoyed this! I finished this in one day – if you’re like me and a huge Paige Toon fan or even a new reader you will find this impossible to put down!

Having read both Johnny Be Good and Baby Be Mine, which feature Johnny Jefferson and Meg in, I was SO thrilled at the thought of being reunited with them in Jessie’s story. It was WONDERFUL to be back with them, and to see them from Jessie’s perspective. I often wonder about characters after I finish a book – where would they be now? What would they be doing? And so for me this book is a dream come true! I had a huge grin on my face when reading about Johnny and Meg, and I was thrilled to see that a character from one of her previous books had a mention! I LOVE thinking of them all co-existing at the same time and being linked in each others lives.

Jessie is so realistic as a character, all of her emotions, thoughts and feelings shone out from the pages and it was as though she had stepped out of the book. I could feel her pain at losing her mum, her feelings about being left behind with her stepdad, and then her excitement and nervousness at finding out about her real father. I so desperately wanted things to go right for Jessie and for her to find her way in her new world, and so I was gripped to the pages wanting to know what would happen next!

I LOVED all of the secondary characters and I spend a wonderful time immersed in their world. I especially liked Davey, I would love to see more of him! I must admit I also have a special place in my heart for Jessie’s Stepdad Stu.

I really don’t want to spoil what is one true rollercoaster ride for Jessie Jefferson but believe me when I say that you will LOVE IT! The Accidental Life Of Jessie Jefferson is full of excitement, fun, parties, romance, family and finding your way. The most exciting thing is that there is more to come with Jessie’s story, and I can’t wait to continue on Jessie’s journey!

Jessie Pickerill gets the shock of her life when step dad Stu reveals who her birth dad is. The funny thing is the revelation makes Jessie realise how much Stu cares about her.

Jessie goes to LA visiting her birth father and becomes Jessie Jefferson. In the end fitting in quite well after initial up and downs with Meg. I could see both sides to how they were feeling. Jessie ends up living two lives you could say having the best of both worlds reminding me of the Hannah Montana song by Miley Cyrus.

The story is even better than I expected and it's like a spin off to the Paige Toon adult books. Cant wait to read the next one, it's a great idea for a book.

I tend to shy away from the YA genre, mostly because I'm nearly 40 (I know, I know, I do not look it 🤪😘)

But I always think I might find cheesy, or even bland.

So when I picked this up for the big @paigetoonauthor readalong, I wasn't expecting to love it just as much as her other books! If not more than some 💞👍
I'm so glad I read this and I'm genuinely excited to read more about Jessie and her accidental life.

She is so likeable for a teenager! And I even felt a lump in my throat for her in parts bless her young heart.

I must admit, because I'm a big Johnny Jefferson fan (from previous books) it was so good to see him in a different light here. It dod help me fall in love with this book.

I can't wait to get reading the other two in this YA trilogy.

Love a good bookish surprise 🎁 💝 📖

Sonstiges

Johnny be Good, Baby Be Mine and Johnny’s Girl were splendid reads and now we follow Jessie’s story in The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson, daughter of rock star Johnny Jefferson which is equally as splendid and also owing to Johnny’s role in the book. Jessie has a few issues, she’s angry and defiant but overall a great character to read about however, it wouldn’t be the same without Johnny, Meg and kids in the picture.

Jessie is 15 years old.

Her mum died recently in a tragic accident.

Jessie lives with her step dad, Stu.

Jessie discovers who her father is.

Jessie flies to LA.

Loved the relationship between Johnny and Jessie, we also see him in a new light. The family drama keeps you on your toes and heavy topics are discussed that many can relate to - grief, substance abuse and changing friendships. In saying all that it’s an easy and heartwarming read.

Two more instalments to enjoy! Can’t wait to see how it all plays out!

Ahh this was a delight to read! I have to be completely honest and just say I have a thing for Johnny Jefferson. If you know, you know. 🤣

This is the first book in the YA series. Read this in two sittings, I always enjoy Paige’s writing and I’m instantly engrossed in all her books. I’ve read a good chunk of her books now and still making my way through the #paigetoonbuddyread

Loved reading about Jessie and how she changes throughout. From not knowing her real dad, to then finding out who he is and living the life her does.

She’s a typical teenager, sassy and will stand her ground and it was really interesting with her new ‘lifestyle’ and of course being under the same roof as Meg… as Meg has always feared this would happen.

Great read and I’m looking forward to seeing what Jessie gets up to next!

I was over the moon when this book arrived even two day before publication day. I was waiting for it since I finished Johnny's Girl and I sensed some real trouble there.

Well, first of all, this is Paige's first YA novel and I was so curious to find out whether the style was much different to her chick-lit books. This is the forth book in the Johnny Jefferson series, I recommed you to read the books in the following order: Johnny Be Good, Baby Be Mine, Johnny's Girl, The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson.

The three books before were written from Meg's perspective. Now Jessie Jefferson or I should say Jessie Pickerill comes into the picture. Jessie is Johnny's 15 year old daughter, Meg (his wife) is still processing the news.

Now, let's really start with Jessie. She sounded like real trouble and a wanna be rockstar at the end of Johnny's Girl. It turns out that this is only a fassade to hide her real feelings. Her mother died six months ago and Jessie misses her so badly. She has a new group of friends who are drinking and smoking and her old best friend Libby is still there, but they don't talk. It's bugging Jessie that she probably never finds out who her biologigal dad is. But then her stepdad Stu has news for her and her whole world comes crasing down. Johnny Jefferson is her dad!? This moment in the book was so great, Paige's writing really conveyed the feelings.

The news bring her back closer to Libby and then Jessie flies to LA to spend the week with Johnny, Meg and the boys. It's finally where we get to see the real Jessie and I got to like her. I was so curious for Johnny's and Jessie's first scene and I just say: well done Paige :)
They spend more and more time together and they get closer, it was awesome to see that develop and we also see Johnny from a different side, which is great. I adored the way they shared more and more about themselves with each other. Jessie and Meg had a rocky start, but I think deep down they really like each other and they have a lot in common. I was longing for Meg's POV in some scenes, can't wait to read about her feelings again as well.

When Jessie left the UK she had her eyes on a boy, his name was Tom, but then Jack came into the picture in a LA. I loved how Jessie was with him and their scenes brought a lot of fun and spark into this story.
I can't wait to read more about how her story with these guys develops.

The ending was great and it calls out for more!!! Much more :) Paige really surprised me with Jessie's personality and she's such a great character. Such an enjoyable read, I couldn't put the book down. As always such a pleasure to read Paige's books.

Jessie is a teenage wild child who’s been acting out ever since her mum’s unexpected death on Jessie’s fifteenth birthday. I have to be honest and say that Jessie didn’t make a good first impression with me – in fact I thought she was a bit of a brat with the way she treated people. But my advice is to stick with her folks! It soon becomes apparent that it’s all just a tough girl act to mask the pain and guilt she feels over her mum’s death and the fear that she doesn’t really belong to any one now that it’s just her and her stepdad Stu. Paige Toon did a fantastic job of capturing a young girl’s grief and those weaker moments with Jessie when her mask would slip and she’d let us in were some of my favourite moments in this book.

With Jessie’s behaviour spiralling out of control stepdad Stu thinks it would do her good to learn the truth about her real father who is none other than famous rock god Johnny Jefferson. When Jessie flies out to LA to get to know Johnny and her new family is where the fun really begins. There are A-list parties, designer clothes shopping, and yes, a cute boy. Whilst all this is really fun and glamorous to read about there are also some really touching moments as Jessie starts to bond with her family.

My favourite thing about The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson was how every character felt realistic. I could understand every characters thoughts and feelings over this big change in their lives and I loved that this book wasn’t all fun and smooth sailing in Jessie’s new life. Seeing how everyday things would trigger Jessie’s memories of her mum brought a tear to my eye on several occasions. And Jessie’s gradual character development was spot on to the point where I closed the book feeling really proud of how far she’d come.

Overall The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson was a lot of fun and had a lot of heart. I’ll definitely be continuing on with this series to see what happens to Jessie and her family next and I also want to pick up ‘Johnny Be Good’ Paige’s adult series to find out how Johnny and Meg’s story all began!

I was a bit apprehensive about starting this book as I don't tend to read Young Adult books, however since I absolutely love Paige Toon's adult books and enjoyed all the books so far that have featured Johnny Jefferson, I knew sooner or later I would read this. And having heard that there is a sequel to this due out later this year, I decided to make sure I had read this.

So glad that I did, as this book provides all of Paige Toon's trademark warmth and humour, and turns them into an incredibly easy to read story, that was highly enjoyable.

Jessie has gone off the rails a bit recently. She is reeling from her mum's tragic death, and is suddenly playing up to the troubled teen stereotype. She is living with her step dad Stuart (who is also a teacher at her school), and her mum had always refused to reveal the name of Jessie's "real dad".

After asking her stepdad if he knows who her father is, she is told the whole story, and it turns out to be mega rock star Johnny Jefferson. Johnny is currently living in LA, and invites Jessie over for a week to get to know the family.

I loved all of Jessie's story, from the troubled teen, just trying to make sense of a world where her beloved mother dies in a freak accident, to what she gets up to in LA. During the book, she tests boundaries, and does start to mature a bit.

The interactions between Jessie and Johnny, are as you may expect stilted at first, and then they blossom, especially once Johnny explains his version of the romance between himself and Jessie's mother.

It has been years since I read a book about teens for teens, and it has made me remember my younger days of reading, when I would have loved this book and probably shared it around my class at school. As is often the case I was reading this on my commute, and I was blissfully unaware of many of the stops as I was enjoying the story so much.

This book shows that Paige can turn her hand to young adult books just as brilliantly as adult books. I am very much looking forward to her upcoming releases this year.

I bought this book knowing full well that I would love it! How could I not? Paige Toon is my favourite author after all.
It was really exciting to find out how Meg and Johnny were. Paige Toon did not disappoint with this one. It was a BRILLIANT introduction to her new YA series.
I'm not sure who interested me more, Jack or Tom? I do however know that Lissa is a bitch!
I like Agnes and It'll be interesting to see how Jessie's relationship with all of these new people expands. It'll also be interesting to see how her relationship with Natalie and Libby will be, now that the whole world know that Johnny Jefferson has a teenage daughter.

I'm so annoyed that the next part doesn't come out until 2015! Oh my, it's so far away!
Oh well, at least there will be another adult book coming out this spring!

Again, this book only took me about 4 hours to read. Paige Toon's books are very easy to read and EXTREMELY easy to get caught up in. I've read all of her books in one sitting each time.

I'd HIGHLY recommend them. Her adult books are really good and exciting and I can tell that this new YA series will be just the same.

It was surprisingly better that I expected it to be. It was actually really fun to read it.

The only way too unrealistic thing was Johnny's excessively detailed knowledge about a groupie after 16 years filled with a lot of alcohol, drugs and even more random women. How they met, how their "relationship" started, their intimate gestures etc.
Very convenient that Jessie's mom was THE ONE groupie back in the days. Totally makes sense. Not really.

But ok, I tried to ignore this matter and enjoy the apart-from-that good story.

I was excited about this book release ever since Paige announced she is going to write a Young Adult book about Jessie Jefferson, the unkown daughter of rock superstar Johnny Jefferson.

I have to admit, I was not quite sure what to expect of it in the first place. When I saw the cover and the titel of the book I was quite shocked because it's so different to her chick-lit novels. I'm actually not very into reading Young Adult books anymore but I was pretty sure Paige is not going to let me down because she never does. I’ve been a fan of Paige ever since I read and loved her debut novel Lucy In The Sky a couple of years ago. I eagerly await each of Paige's books every year and I was getting more and more excited towards the release date. I squeed and dacnced around when the book finally arrived last Tuesday! (two days earlier as the release date!)

If you have not read any books by Paige Toon yet, you need to know one thing first. There are three books before The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson. I'll advise you to read the books in the following order: Johnny be Good, Baby Be Mine, Johnny's Girl and The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson. It helps you to understand the storyline and the characters much better.

With all my concers, Paige proofed me so wrong. She can write stories for yound adults too! As an adult Paige Toon fan you have to be prepared for something different. In my case I needed a bit to get used it but once I was hooked I finished the book within two days. I loved it! You did an amazing job, Paige!

Jessie is living a pretty normal life with her mom and her stepdate in England. On her 15th birthday she lost her mom because of a tragic and freak accident. Now living with her stepdad who also the maths teacher at her school, she is rebelling against everything. Drinking, smoking, staying out late and getting involved with the wrong people.

One thing has been bothering her all her life. She wants to know who her real dad is. Jessie’s mother never told her who he was. After her mother's death she pressures her stepdad into telling her. Then she finds out the truh that Johnny Jefferson is her biological father.

Jessie's world is starting to turn upside down. She is off to meet Johnny and his family in LA. Two different worlds are colliding together. Can Jessie manage all the life changes and keep firmly to the ground?

The story is very well written and paced. The characters are so well described. It took me a bit to sympathise Jessie because she was such a brat in the first few chapters. She's developing during the story. I love how Jessie is turning from a rebelling teenager to a mature girl and how she adapted to all the changes to her world.

I also loved this book because it gave me a chance to read more of Meg, Johnny and their kids. I truly love Johnny. He is the best character Paige ever created! I really liked how Jessies and his relationship developed. Can't wait to see how their story goes on!

The end is prefect but you always want more. I was like "OMG, THIS CANNOT BE THE END, I NEED THE NEXT BOOK RIGHT NOW!"

I can't wait for the next Jessie book in 2015!

I love Paige Toon, as soon as I discovered her I knew that she was going to quickly become one of my favourite authors. On hearing that she was going to be writing YA I was excited but also a tad nervous, she writes chick lit so wonderfully and I was worried that I was going to be disappointed with this.

Paige Toon began by really interesting me with this story line, it was a continuation from one of her adult novels, this is something that I think really makes Toon stand out as an author, she manages to like her characters in certain ways. This makes the reader really believe they are with the characters in the book, as they are so familiar. If you haven't read Johnny Be Good, do not panic, you can read this as a stand a lone but reading this will enhance your reading experience.

The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson follows Jessie, a down to earth teenager, who has just lost her mum in a tragic freak accident. Jessie has always lived with her mum and stepdad Stu, however much she has wanted to know who her real father is, her mother would never discuss it. Stu believes that it is important that Jessie does know, so even though he could potentially lose her, he tells her.

I really love Stu in this, I feel for him, what he is going through and it is clear how much he cares for Jessie even though she is not his own. I had a real issue with Jessie as a character to begin with. Unfortunately I just could not warm to her, she behaved dreadfully to Stu and not a lot better to Johnny at parts in the book. I didn't like her attitude for most of the novel and I didn't like the way she tried to come across as an adult and demanded to know things, but then went around and acted like a spoilt brat. (Maybe I am now showing my age and shows that maybe I am not the intentional age range for this book!)

There were parts in the story that I felt not a lot was happening, normally when Jessie was meeting people in the States at parties etc, however this was made up towards the end when it picked up and almost felt like the ending was coming to an abrupt ending! - Thank goodness I can continue with the series straight away!

So although I did have a few issues with this book, I also really enjoyed it and I feel Paige has done really well with her debut in YA, what I loved about it was there was no main story within the book that was depressing. Yes I know her mum had dies, however this happened before we met the characters. The story is upbeat, nobody having a dreadful illness, no bullying, no teen pregnancy, just a really easy going light read.

Gute 4 Sterne.

This is a YA book that takes the Johnny Be Good series in a different direction. It looks as though this will be a series in it's own right. I really enjoyed following Jessie's journey throughout the book- after she discovers who her real father in after her mum dies in a freak accident on her birthday.

Ahhhh I’m back with The Jefferson’s and this time there’s a new girl in town !!!

This is what Meg has always feared, that Johnny’s rock and roll lifestyle will eventually come back to haunt him, it has in the shape of Jessie Pickerill, a 15 year old girl from the U.K. who’s just been told by her stepdad, that Johnny Jefferson, global rock star is her biological dad.

Jessie flies out to meet the Jefferson’s in L.A. First impressions from Meg is that Jessie has turned up looked like ‘a wannabe rock star’ but no one can disguise that Jessie is Johnny’s biological daughter, shes his female lookalike. Johnny and Jessie have some catching up to do, so she stays throughout her summer holidays with the family, before the world are introduced to Jessie Jefferson.

The Accidental Life Of Jessie Jefferson is Paige Toon’s 1st Young Adult book and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. I love the Johnny Jefferson series, not sure why i do love it so much, but I do. How would you feel at 15 if you’d just found out your biological parent was a global superstar ? Jessie’s mum was killed in a tragic accident and with this Jessie always believed that the truth about her real dad was dead and buried with her mum. But, when her stepdad, Stu tells her the truth about who her dad is, she’s determined to carry out the whole process of meeting her dad. But this isn’t any normal getting to know the family this will be about her change her life forever. The question is Will it be a good change or bad ?

Pages: 337
My rating: 3
Read other books by this author in the future: yes
MC’s: Jessica, Tom, Jack

At the beginning I really did not like Jessie. She was a mean bitch. She treated her Stepdad Stu and her best friend Libby really bad. But on the other hand all this acting out is understandable, if you just lost your mom and you don’t know who your bio Dad is and think that you will never find out, because this secret died with her mum. So Jessie’s bad habits (smoking, drinking, slipping out of the house to do what she wants) are understandable. But then the page is turned, as she finds out that Stu knew all along who her Dad is and he helps her to contact her famous rockstar Dad.

Johnny and Meg were at times a piece of work at first. Meg seems to resent Jessie, but it turns out that a lot of this resentment is actually no resentment but she cares, what will happen to Jessie, when she becomes the daughter of Johnny the Rockstar for the hole world. Meg herself have gone trough this, and she fears for Jessie. Johnny doges any attempt to talk about the past and tell Jessie how everything went down with her mum. But finally he sits down with her and they talk it all out. Meg never tried to be Jessies mum, she tried to be a good older friend and she looks out for her. She gives her advice about Johnny. Johnny really cares for Jessie.

Because of the beginning of the book I decided on a 3 star rating.

The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson was not what I expected. I went into this book anticipating a strong coming-of-age story whereby the heroine learns to accept her past and understand her present. That was not this story.

Firstly, this story contains no plot. Literally, nothing. I’m pretty sure 50% of the narrative was made up of blunt character descriptions. Consequently, the very end of the book feels like the start of the story, where Jessie will start to experience life with her father.

The characters were the only thing worse than the plot. Paige Toon wrote a 20 year old 15 year old – and not a good 20 year old at that. Jessie was unlikeable, jealous, whiney, vapid and judgemental; why couldn’t she have been squished by a falling window at the start of the novel? The other characters were weak caricatures and utterly boring to read about.

The writing was not a particular highlight either. Showing and not telling was the name of the game with this book and it made reading to arduous. Too many One Direction references (perhaps I’m just old), too many full outfit reviews, too much info dumping.

The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson by Paige Toon was not an enjoyable read. I will not be picking up anything by this author in the future.

PS A chain-smoking alcoholic 15 year old is not cute.

i think part of it is nostalgia value and the other part of my enjoyment for this book was just how good it was in general. It’s YA but not written in an overly cringy or childish way as you’d expect with a fifteen year old main character. I really loved jessie’s journey to becoming more mature and growing emotionally as well as coming to terms with her mum’s death, as well as becoming closer to her stepfather. that was only one part of the actual plot though, and i really enjoyed the glamorous and not so glamorous parts of her life with her dad in LA. a key point of my (also nostalgic) enjoyment was the romance!!
I didn’t think my opinion on love interests would change from the time 12 year old me read this book, and it certainly did not. I am literally still crazy over jack even though he’s only like good half the time and the other half his rare appearances are in he seems emotionally conflicted and also a bit of a hoe. i still love it though, the drama and romance has a good start in this book. Looking forward to revisiting the next 2 :D
