Emma needs a fresh start so she packs up her car and drives hundreds of miles north to a small market town in the Lake District, here she will be a housekeeper in an B & B. On arriving Emma doesn't expect her reaction to Mike Cross, the town major. She instantly has a physical reaction to him, a man has never evoked this type of attraction from her before. Even when she tries to ignore it she can’t, it’s like her body and mind are calling to his.

Mike has never had such an intense reaction to a woman before, just her photo had his wolf stirring. Meeting her in person was like being punched in the stomach. Could she be the one he has waited over 100 years for.

Emma’s reason to leave London soon catch’s up to her and her eyes are opened to a world she believed to be fictional. Werewolves were real and the man she was drawn to was the Alpha of the local pack. The man she left London to get away from is also a werewolf and believes Emma is his.

So after discovering this new world a lot of things started to make sense, the intense feelings she had for a virtual stranger, they are mates which brought with it a whole new set of problems. Along the way new discoveries are made and bonds that will hopefully last a lifetime, if no one tries to take it away.

The premier book in new series, by a new author, Emma's Alpha is a great start!
Likeable characters, a smarmy bad guy, twists and turns aplenty, and lots of sexual tension.
Warning: beware of Alpha werewolves with big teeth and big "appetites"

I can't wait for the next book! (shh don't tell but it is Craig's book, hehe)

After downloading this book a few years ago, I just an opportunity to read it. The scene sequence and shifting was awkward or non-existent in several places. The story felt rushed and the connections between the characters -- Emma, Marcus, and Craig felt forced. Brian, Emma's ex and fairly rogue alpha of a pack where she used to live, was a cardboard villain. He told his entire plan and all about his prior machinations for no obvious reason. My final issue with the story was the formal speech if the characters. I understand the characters were British but contractions were hardly used in the entire story making the flow even more awkward.

This is the debut book of a new author. While the bones of the story are solid it needed more fleshing out. There was too much going on in this short story, it caused confusion at times.

It was an enjoyable quick read with promise.I give Emma's Alpha a solid 3 stars. I will definitely buy another book by this author.

Emma’s Alpha by Amanda Clark is a very engaging story that gripped my attention from page one until the very end. It is the kind of book that you don’t want to put down!

Emma Brody has left London to start a new life in a sleepy little town where she has been employed as a housekeeper at The Den B&B. She literally runs into Mike Cross, the grandson of the woman who runs the Bed and Breakfast, and finds herself immediately attracted to him. Unbeknown to her he is the alpha in the Derwent Pack, humans and were’s do not mate but Mike is also drawn and attracted to Emma.

The reason in which Emma had left London by chance ends up coming to The Den B&B. Brian Roads is determined to finish what he started with Emma back in London.

There is danger and an “OMG” twist at the end you will love.

The characters are relatable and believable and the sex scenes are very well written and extremely hot! I really enjoyed the story and I cannot wait to read more to come from the Derwent Pack.

Emma's Alpha was a short quick read. A good plot, a villain, an Alpha and hot sex. All the makings of a well rounded new author for this genre.

I enjoyed this read, and would of given it a 5 star if the story hadn't felt too rushed. I also would of liked more background on the villain and also a little insight on the other characters. All in all it was a good read.
I am interested to see where the author takes her other characters.

Emma's Alpha is another hot and steamy read from Amanda Clark. The calling of truly intended mates can never be denied, even if someone tries to break that immortal bond. Mike and Emma's relationship scintillates and the plot twist toward the end of the story was something unexpected. The story could still have been developed, but all in all I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Looking forward to reading more about the Derwent Pack.

If I was asked to write a one word review of the Novella, Emma’s Alpha, it would be “Yummy.” If I could use three, it would be “Yummy, what’s next?!?” This novella is the story of Emma and Mike (a great alpha wolf), and an introduction into the Derwent Pack with great secondary characters who will (hopefully) make up the cast of forthcoming novels. Ms. Clark was able to give a great foundation into the inner workings of the werewolves of her creation, as well as background info on the Council and Packs. As always with novellas, you wish for more, but the story is well told, and believable- and, contains that rare find in paranormal fiction, a heroine who doesn’t have palpitations over the existence of werewolves (we all know we want one!).

The only issue I had, and not much of one, was Rachel- she came out of left field. However, it was something Emma was concerned about, so her existence and reaction weren’t outside the realm of possibilities. Brian has a ton of issues, and is a definitely an unlikeable, unredeemable bad guy. The sex scenes with Emma and Mike are deliciously hot, which is always a big plus. Emma has a bit of a rough life, but you hear no complaints from her- she is a genuinely likable heroine, and deserves her own great HEA, which is delivered. I would strongly recommend this book, a perfect beach read if you are don’t mind the heat it generates!

Reviewed for sslyblog.wordpress.com This book was given to me in return for an honest review. 4/5 flames for hotness.

This book interested me since page one to the very end!Emma has moved from London to a small town's B & B called the Den to start over as housekeeper. There she meets Mike (grandson of the woman who runs the B & B). There is an instant attraction between the two. Mike is alpha of the Derwent Pack which Emma doesn't know. Mike also knows weres don't mate humans but finds out Emma's half were.
They end up mating and they fall deeply in love. meanwhile another were Brian from London has wanted Emma and followed her to the states.Brian has tried to have her but failed then shows up again to abduct her and finish what he started.
There's a surprise at the end which you will also love!!! And the sex is hot!!! Love the ending!
I give this book 5 stars and I hope to read another book about the Derwent pack!

**** 1/2 (4-1/2 stars)

Alpha male, werewolves, solid plot set it in England...you had me at "download".
Why oh why do authors who have a rockin' good story, spicy lead characters, and great secondary characters, douse the fires and only pen a novella. (Kills me) Emma's Alpha had my blood churning with the first description of the leading man. Emma is a rare lead female that isn't obnoxious, but instead, interesting with smarts and worries of a believable character. The delicious Alpha, Mike Cross, makes your skin heat and can fill daydreams hoping werewolves do exist. The writing style is unique, maybe even edgy. Without a doubt, I want to see another tale spun by Amanda.

P.S. Does Cross have an unattached cousin???

Love, hope and faith

I loved this story!!! I hope to read more from Amanda Clark very soon!
This story has Emma coming to a remote area looking for a new beginning. She is being tormented by a very mean and hateful man in London. She leaves behind her job, and best friend to start over in a remote town in the mountains. Unknown to her she has come to Mike's town. He is the alpha of the local werewolf pack.mike has just realized that Emma is gonna be his, he just needs to let her know.
This is such a great book. The characters are so compelling you don't want to put the book down. Amanda references some of my favorite authors that I have been introduced to through Ditter the Great on FaceBook. Awesome! 4 outta 5 only because of the typo errors and I wish it had been longer!

I appreciate that this is the authors debut novel so I will allow a little leniency on some grammatical errors, the story for me felt a little too rushed and everything that happened was very coincidental and I felt a little predictable, however, I am going to rate this four stars because I liked the writers voice, I liked the characters and would really have loved to have known them more in depth. I think in a few novels time Amanda Clark will grow so much as a writer. Good luck with your future releases.

I really enjoyed this book. The story was good and held my attention from the first page. I just wished it was longer. The book seemed a little rushed but i guess thats to be expected with a short book. I liked the characters I think I could probably even love them if given the chance (longer book).

2.5 - 3 stars

This is not a bad story, it just felt a bit wooden to me...a little bit cookie cutter. It's sweet enough with a bit of violence thrown in to spice it up and the sex scenes are basically okay.
I did detect some mild plot holes but I didn't hate the story and I didn't love it either. I'm unlikely to read it again.

This is a pretty good story, but it cranks along at breakneck speed. There are enough events happening here that this book probably could have been twice as long. It makes me wonder if the writer had been given a word limit for this story.

This was not for me.

Too predictable, awkward dialogue terrible dirty talk and off putting sex scenes.
The language was stilted and made this short story seem too long.

The underlying plot was interesting And had potential, but the execution fell flat. It was way too rushed and the characters were not given any room to develope. All I read was how horny Emma was all the time.

Emma + Mike...

This book should be called Emma’s coincidences cause that was all it was. It was a nice quick read though.

I was excited to read this book since I love werewolf stories and saw it was the beginning of a new series. I have to say that I liked Mike (the Alpha), Emma and a few others from Mike's pack. Sigh. here's my biggest peeve with this story: It isn't well edited. Well, the sex is well edited but the rest of the story isn't well done. I kept finding stupid little things like using 'their' instead of 'there' or the wrong verb tenses.

I'm not sure it was as fully developed a story as it could have been since most of the characters were somewhere between 1 and 2 dimensional. Some wolves were killed and the alpha was upset (as any good alpha should) but it was barely even mentioned and didn't even upset me. (Usually I at least tear up when something like that happens in a book.)

The thing I hated about this book is the fact there were 6 pages advertising the Publisher's e-book club, The Cravings. You know, a page or two would have been fine, but dragging it out when I just want to get to the story is truly annoying.

Sigh. I am interested to see what Ms. Clark does with the Derwent Pack, but I probably won't be jumping to buy it when it hits the stores right away.

Keep in mind this is just my opinion. I see others have given this story 5 stars and their opinions are valid as well. Take what you wish from any reviews.

Woooooo giddy up! This was a short story which rushed along at such a speed I was wanting to hit the breaks!!!!

Its jam packed, which on the whole isn't altogether bad in some books but this one gave me palpitations!!! And not because of the red hot male!

I think slowed down and drawn out a little in places like pitch, power and pace, its a good first book!
