Good introduction to the basics of 3D printing, 3D printers and 3D design software. The first half of the book concentrates on 3D printers with many pages dedicated to assembling your own using a kit from Printrbot. The next quarter of the book gives step-by-step (with pictures) of building a label plate using Tinkercad. Also suggests a couple other software options, and mentions places to print objects you've designed, and has useful reference links in the back.
