Cheyenne’s deepest fear has come to pass. Her light of hope has been extinguished, cruelly ripped away as Marcus yearns to unlock the darkness in her heart. Cheyenne is tempted by the sweet taste of revenge, but knows she would lose herself to anger and grief, and worst of all, Marcus would gain control.

Isolated and alone in an unfamiliar land with unfamiliar faces, she tries to become the leader everyone expects her to be. But not all the clans are joyful to have their lost heir returned, and she must strive to earn their trust and respect. However, Cheyenne is determined to make a path towards her own happiness. With her newfound friends, she continues to develop her powers, but Marcus remains as ruthless as ever, sending his most powerful forces to capture her. Eventually, Cheyenne must face a terrible choice: one that could reunite the clans, or destroy them forever.

First, I'll say I wish I had read it sooner! And the title... TOTALLY appropriate, I thought, according to the story taking place here. This one has been a bit difficult to get thru at the beginning; I had the book for over a week, almost 2 before I built up enough courage to start reading it - after how the last one ended I definitely hesitated; but not in the bad way!

So, Cheyenne's definitely had a tough time dealing with the loss of a loved one & a terrible darkness dwelling deep within her, and she struggles HARD at the beginning, but she comes through - she's a tough cookie! I SO wanted to hit Brogan hard with anything I could grab my hands on when he put Cheyenne thru the tacticts training with wanting everyone going against her! Of course, I know it's so she learns & all, but still! Ugh, he irritated me throughout the book so much; still not sure I like him. lol

Im glad Cheyenne overcomes her darkness within & learns to control it; & Callon's always there when she needed it most for moral support & love. She finally reveals her true feelings for him. She realizes he's been the one to pull her thru the darkness and & been there trying to make her see everything that he's done, that her family has done, has been for her.

I could hardly believe the twists in the story with certain events that happened, but It makes it THAT much better and leaves me deeper in anticipation waiting the next one! 2014 is too long to wait!! But I'm glad there will be another; because this battle that we've been thru with Cheyenne against defeating Marcus MUST end!! I cannot say anymore, otherwise I will spill the beans on things that YOU JUST HAVE to read yourselves fellow readers and fans!! Til next one! =)

First of all let me say I'm very proud of Lisa for how well she writes. Her ability to write conversations between characters, and thoughts they have is very imaginative and not something easy to come by. In Daylight I found the conversations of the group had grown and matured because they had been thru so much and grown and matured together and Lisa kept to that.

I was very glad that Lisa felt Colt should live, because in all honesty there are times when you read a book that some characters deaths don't fit correctly and altho it may mimic life I like to have some enjoyment when I read and didn't want him to die. (I knew you wouldn't do that to him. ;).

While I felt the information brought out in the book may have been good to explain much about the Timeless and Cheyenne's growth to acceptance in being timeless herself, I felt Daylight was a bit slow in moving forward to catching/killing/destroying the imbalance in the clans that Marcus had inflicted for such a looooong time. While Callon and Cheyenne were supposed to be getting closer and learning about each other, she should have been hearing more from him about Marcus. Things that could help her determine his weak points as she was honing her skills more and more. And while the clans were touched on, I wish Callon had given her a bit more on information on leadership, for her benefit as well. This would have bonded them all the more. Their bond and love never seemed to be really deep love like hers and Colt's. Their's you could feel on the page, as if you touched the page you could burn your finger.

I know there should have been a cliffhanger to keep them coming back for more at some point, but I was a bit disappointed at the ending with no resolve for Callon's powers and Cheyenne not being able to talk to Dex and Lilly about what she had done and why before it ended. I was kind of left a little. . . not "where's the next book", but "where's the next page". You know, something was forgotten.

Don't worry Lisa, this won't stop me from reading any of your material in the future, because I love the way you write.

Now, having said all of this, it is only my opinion and doesn't matter when it is the direction "you" were going that we were all waiting on. I just wanted to vent. Because in all reality . . . you, more than likely with your wonderful imagination have all of this culminated in "Awakenings". And I probably just stuck my foot in my mouth!

“My Wesley will come for me.” -The Princess Bride

This is the feel you get from this story. I was very eager to read this book and Lisa didn’t let me down. She may have left me hanging but not let down.

The first chapters felt a touch dreary. Cheyenne is grieving the loss of our beloved Colt. She is struggling to deal with that grief through any and all means possible. Though, there are some who begrudge her for it. Everyone has had to face their own share of loss.

After such a long journey she feels as if she had lost all hope and light. But some would rather receive her and show her life and love can still exist. The only thing is, well she let them?

New friends begin to lighten her dark, crimson-eyed world. Each one in their own ways. Through laughter, antics, and just plain friendship Cheyenne learns time does pass for a Timeless. Love can grow even in the most turbulent conditions. And hope never dies unless you let it.

But danger and heartache are never far away from Cheyenne it would seem. Her destiny has come and with it even more responsibility. Hard decisions must be made as well as sacrifices. Just when you share in her happiest moments you are ripped away to yet another adventure.

But for all of the heartache the continuance of this story is worth the read. I believe Lisa Wiedmeier truly fleshes out her characters very thoroughly. You come to know and love every one of them because they are all so very human. So take the time and don’t give up hope for Cheyenne and her family just yet. There are still a few more pages to be turned.

Where, oh where to begin in this review? Well lets start with the fact that this series is breathtaking and beautiful, it's dark and haunting, and will have your emotions in a turmoil like a hurricane ripping through your heart! I adore this series and book 3 Daylight is so far the favorite for me! My beloved characters return in a dark and wretched place, they struggle and fight back the evil but what of the evil within? Poor poor Cheyenne that woman has struggled from book 1!! She has never gotten a break and it still doesn't stop. Her heart shredded, mended, and re shredded is like being beat... I read the story and follow along but I've grown so attached its like having to watch my friends suffer, I want to help but am powerless to change their fate.
Callon and Daniel are back, stealing hearts of female readers everywhere. The dynamic of the characters is so strong and so binding it literally hurts me to see the guys struggling to help their lovely Cheyenne.
The books full of illustrious details of far away places. Take me away to those halls and see me right along side some of my absolute favorite male characters. Lisa has out done herself with this series. When I closed the back cover finishing the third installment I almost had the urge to start over right then but I decided my emotions had to calm a bit! I'm amped up for book 4 I have to know what happens! So here I give my 5 out of 5 stars and impatiently wait for more, like now!!

Chey is too whinny. She's got the same problem with America from Elite--too whinny and too confused (considering the choice should be obvious) making both characters appear weak and unlikable. Reading their narration will want you to get into the book and slap them in the face to wake from indecision and tell them to step-up. I read the first 6 chapters and started to skip from chapter to chapter hoping to see some change of phase or at least strength from the main character, nothing there. The paCe is so dragging I decided to hop to the last chapter just to see how the story will end, still no satisfaction. This book is not worth buying, too bad I really like the first book and the concept of the series but Daylight is too boring to read. I think I'll borrow the next book from someone or from the library...or better yet, read from someone else' spoiler review to see the conclusion of the series.

This book surprised me a bit. I found myself wanting to slap several of the main characters. This book seemed a lot darker than the previous books. I liked how Cheyenne finally steps up to the plate toward the end of the book and stops acting like a spoiled brat. I'm hopeful that the 4th book will have a happy ending but right now the story doesn't look like it is headed there. Loved the character of Andre!

OKAY. So let me just crawl out of my FEELSHole and I'll get back to you

*takes an unusually long time in wallowing*

Okay. I'm ready now (not that anyone will seem to care) and let me start my review off by telling: Chey, you suck.

Try to think a good plan next time, yeah? DUDE. GET YOUR FACE OUT OF YOUR ASS AND STOP WALLOWING IN SELF-PITY. THE WORLD DID NOT FREAKING END WHEN COLT DIED SO JUST STOP, OKAY? JUST FREAKIN STOP. We're all hurting and the world does NOT fucking revolve around you.

And, yeah, I read the word 'fool' so many times that I think these books passed for the title FOOLCEPTION. Yes. I think it has a nice ring to it.

I mean, I love the girl but DAMN! I noticed that everytime-every damn time- SHE COMPLAINS. CRY A RIVER. BUILD A BRIDGE. AND MOVE ON DAMN IT.

We all admire a girl who's determined and would sacrifice anything to save the ones she love but we don't want a whinny baby ass girl who sucks her fucking thumb whenever she's scared and I'm taking BABY here. She won't even go to a dark place because she's 'afraid of the dark swallowing her whole and she needs her light to survive' and she's the one who just happens to be who we rely on for the Timeless's sake.

She even thought that she needs to prove herself to Brogan! And I still can't move on from the matter at hand that she kept saying: I'm such a fool. I won't be the fool again. I look like a fool.

But, on the bright side! I enjoyed the book and I loved the fact that I didn't read anything about:Cheyenne getting over Colt's death because she now sees that everything is now a mess BECAUSE OF HER. And I don't need another ride down that guilt-trip alley.
And, because of the actions in the story. Namely, Marcus and the Colt stunt the author pulled. I still can't believe that he thought he made the right decision about 'siding' with Marcus. And! Of course, we all remember the fucking HIGH LIGHT of the story. YES. YES SATANIC HELL.

SWEET ANGELS FROM ABOVE PLEASE SAVE US ALL FROM THIS HORRIBLE NIGHTMARE. Yes. When you knew about Marcus's and Chey's betrothal, well, it happened. And we have the author to thank! Yep. IT'S TRUE.

I loved Daniel here. And even if he is like, 123(?) years old, he acts like a child, which is a good thing considering the testosterone level in the book. Haha. I miss them already.

Well. Despite the whinny rampant baby-who has anger management issues-Chey is, I still loved her and them. Except the bad guys.. but I think I love Marcus. Only a little bit, 'cause, admit it; he can be an ass sometimes. Most of the time.

Can't wait for the fourth book- and I don't like the ending. *crais*
Okay, let me cry endlessly now.

Once again I find myself suffering from CATTS (chronic addiction to The Timeless Series).

I discovered this series with book one, Cheyenne, and have loved it ever since, despite the author killing off one of my favourite characters in book two. In my opinion Lisa is back to her best here.

We rejoin the story when Cheyenne is grieving for Colt, yet fighting a darkness within that is threatening to destroy everything. She genuinely wants to do what is right, and fulfil her destiny, but her impetuous nature drives into yet more danger.

Lisa builds yet more layers to the characters here, building suspense as she goes. Despite a few clues along the way, i didn't spot the ending coming, not in the way it did anyway. But, no spoilers here - if you want to know more then read the book!

Often in protracted series, it feels as though the author loses their way part way through the series, and just adds something to get another book out of it. This is not the case with this book - the third full novel, and the fourth in the series (the novella, Fated, written with Sam Dogra, came out earlier this year). The progress through this part of the story feels right, and there is a reason for what is happening.

The novels pace had me gripped, and I finished it in less than two days, much to the annoyance of my family!

Hats off for keeping me wanting more this far into the series.

One last query - when is the next one due out?

Oh man I'm sensing a theme with my rating of this series. Every book gets a worse rating and it really makes me sad.
I remember saying after the first book that the story really needs to build up but it didn't happen.

Chey continues to be a horribly weak character. She only whines. She constantly needs others to get her out of her funk and it's becoming ridiculous. So I've been wondering how it would go on with Cold and Callon, wondered how CHey would decide or if she, as usual, would leave the decision up to others. Turns out it's neither. Colt is killed. Just like that his life ends tragically and now Chey only has Callon to lean on.

She of course wastes no time in falling madly in love with him and it's stronger than anything she's ever felt before.... Aha, isn't that the same girl who said that her feeling for Callon were only because of the rings? Isn't that the same girl who jumped into Colt's arms not too long ago and told him he was her one and only true love? I mean come on!!

Colt's death in my eyes only serves the purpose to make Chey the poor poor victim again, who loses another love, and so she can lean on Callon.

And while we're on the topic of ridiculousness; there are so many names in the world and the author couldn't come up with something better Callon - Conall? Come on!

All in all, this book really disappointed. This series keeps on letting me down, I'm almost afraid of picking up the fourth....

“I was again alone. There was no sunshine, there was no Colt, no Mom and Dad. It was just me in this prison of misery with no escape.” (Cheyenne Wilson, Daylight)

Daylight is such a departure from the tone of the previous novels in this series. This is somewhat understandable given the way Promises ended. Wiedmeier does a great job of introducing the stages of grief through Cheyenne’s narrative, even while the story produces an unexpected tangent. However, Wiedmeier builds on this tone so much that the novel has a morose undertone throughout.

The tragedy at the end of Promises helps bring Callon and Cheyenne closer together, which I believe is the intent all along. Wiedmeier introduces a lot of new characters in this book. It does, in a way, create a new sense of family for Cheyenne, but her narrative makes this family feel just as oppressive as it is uplifting. The somber feeling of the book lends itself well to the emerging theme of dark versus light. The surprise ending to this book affirms this perception.

This book is less enjoyable to read than the previous two for a very simple reason. I have a hard time letting go of the depression initiated at the beginning of the story. It would be nice to have a little more balance from the beginning. For me, this book gets 3.75 of 5 stars

*sigh*
I hesitated leaving a review because I didn't want to be vicious.. There's just a feeew things I have a problem with.. I picked up this continuation after reading The Darkest Minds series and I realized I was rolling my eyes at Cheyenne once again. I have an issue with the overwhelming use of emotions for Cheyenne (I'm assuming if you've made it to book 3, you're already aware) but the apologies, the realizations that she's messed up something (again) and then people forgive her, THEN SHE DOES IT AGAIN!!
It is a revolving door of this cycle to the point where I kept on putting the book down because I just wanted her to shut up.. At one point, my FB status said I wanted her to get killed just so she could be quiet.
I have a problem with this OVERWHELMING emotional wreck authors like to portray teen/YA women as. If I could search how many times "failure/failed" was written, I would've looked it up, just to make sure I wasn't imagining its overuse.
Eh.. I wanted to finish the book because I'm not a quitter, but in some spots, my emotional investment in the characters was almost not enough to get me to stay...

*argh*
Lemme go read Winter...

Alright. I don't know what it was about this series that enticed me to continue reading, but I think I might stop now. The story line is decent and some characters are fun. My one main issue is Cheyenne. She is obviously a female who really likes to know that she has masculine supporters. Don't get me wrong, it would be horrid if individuals only based their reading lists on "kick-ass" female characters, but come on! Cheyenne, to me, appears to be completely incapable of doing anything without either running into a man's arms or giving up and crying about it; so much to the point where I found it slightly sexist. This woman always needs a man to enable her to do
A N Y T H I N G.

To each their own, but I personally like women characters who don't always rely on constant manly protection/ comfort

To be honest, I didn't enjoy Daylight as much as the first two novels. Don't get me wrong, I love when things take a turn for the worst and get dark, but to have that tone throughout the entire novel (especially when the first two relied heavily on humor and romance). Daylight isn't the least bit bright, at least not until the final sequence. There were interesting spots here and there throughout the novel, but up until the final few chapters, I can honestly say the story didn't grip me like the other novels did. With that said, I'm looking forward to the fallout of the events of the final chapters of this book. I'll definitely be picking up Awakening next year. I'm confident it'll be a very interesting end to Chey's story.

Once again I did not see the ending coming and while a series like this hasn't followed the normal "formula" that most series follow I'm glad it hasn't! I am already itching to read the final book of this series and I'm itching to read the other books by this author as well! Cheyenne as a character has matured and developed beautifully in more ways than I could have imagined! I have been loving these books because just when I think I've predicted the ending or what will happen next I'm taken by surprise and thrown completely off guard! Book #3 in the Timeless Series has more twists and turns than you would have expected as a reader and if you've just gotten into the series continue to read on because you will be pleasantly surprised and never disappointed!

Daylight was hard on Cheyenne....and I mean hard on her mind, heart, and even her body. Heartbroken and fighting the darkens that wants to take over when we lose hope, she has a new set of people in her life and not all of them are fans. As with the first two in this series, there are twists and turns that pop up and grab you when you are knee deep in something else. It amazes me how hard she can fight for when she believes in now after all the pain she has gone though. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger right?

Oh my goodness such a great story I cannot wait until Awakening. It is a story full of despair and happiness, mystery and drama. So many things that are quite unexpected.
I am not happy at how some things turned out and really my feelings are mixed and confused when it comes down to Colt and Callon. I love Cheyenne but really most of this book I want to ring her neck. Stop being so finicky get your big girl panties on and make a decision - guess she finally did in the last 10% of the book.

This book, like the previous two in the series, is full of such fun, loveable characters. It was so much fun to meet more of the Timeless characters in this book! There is so much adventure and excitement in this book - so many twists and turns! I will be honest, and say that I hate the way the book ended. But, I have faith that in future books, that will be righted. I can't wait for the next book, so I can find out what Cheyenne's future holds!!
