Get Crochet teaches beginners basic stitches and shows how to start crocheting with 20 easy projects, including hats, blankets, and baby clothes. Perfect for beginners who want to learn a new craft, DK's Get Crochet takes a "do and learn" approach by starting simple and building new skills, using photographed techniques to help people learn step-by-step.
This book has a lot of good real life pictures of how to do various stitches rather than line sketches like most books trying to teach you. For some reason I learn better looking at pictures of real objects and hands rather than the line sketches even if they look very similar. I'm not sure why, but that is the way I am so I look for books with real pictures.
In my opinion this book is a smaller more condensed version of the book: Crochet. And the total perk is that this one has completely different projects than the other one. I like the two because I can use the big one at home when I have room to spread out but I can tuck this one in my bag to go and it is smaller and lighter so I don't feel like I'm lugging a lot around. It has a lot of the same instructional techniques so your not trying to learn from two different POVs, but rather from the same one.
I think if a beginner is looking for a nice small book to learn from this is great, but if you want more detail and projects go for the bigger version that I linked to above.
Very helpful in my goal to learn how to crochet. It's a great step by step guide with progressive crafts to practice skills learned. Highly recommend for beginning crochet .
