2023 reread: *happy sigh while wiping a stray tear from right eye* I just love this trilogy. I wish this book has been just a bit longer, but that ending was perfectly written, I can’t complain. 4.5 stars (again). I feel like I see myself in Paige—not necessarily the little things, but the bigger, faith things. I love seeing her growth and learning as it encourages me to do the same in the ways I’m struggling in similar regards like her. I just love this trilogy.

I read these books so fast I don't really remember the difference between the three!

So I guess I'll write a combined review. These books were so fun! Are they classic level? no way. But are they free of typos? with a linear storyline? relatable characters? and no weird lovey lovey stuff? YOU BET!

I so related to Paige and her busyness and all the things that were going on in her life. And it was so sweet to see her relationship with Tyler grow. Although I don't attend a church as big as Paige, I related to a lot of the church things in here. And I love that the church is such a big part of her life!
My biggest problem with this book: I think I gained wait just reading about all the macchiatos she consumed through this series. It's seriously disturbing.

5 stars. 16+ for older teen content.

I LOVED this entire series. Each of the books deals in a subtle, yet non-apologetically Christian way about a character issue. In Erynn's typical style, the book was lighthearted, fun, and full of sugar. I gained weight just reading about all the calories, sugar, and caffeine the characters consumed. However, unlike some of her other titles, I felt like this series was a little weightier and dealt with real-life issues for Christian girls - which was perfect for me! This book inspired as well as amused me.

FROM THE BACK COVER: Despite her valiant efforts, Paige Alder seems stuck in chaos. Her new job as youth intern keeps her hopping from coffee shop to coffee shop all summer long, but at least she’s loving the one-on-one time she gets to spend with the girls. The unfortunate side-effect is that now, four weeks of laundry fills her apartment. Plus, she barely has time to help her sister and best friend with their weddings! And even worse? Something is definitely wrong between her and Tyler. She apologized for what he thought he saw happen with Luke. Can’t they move past it? Or could there be something he’s not telling her—something that could change everything?

While Book #1 dealt with saying no and Book #2 dealt with forgiveness, Paige Turned dealt a lot with seeing people as Christ sees them. I really connected with this and loved the focus on seeing people with a past as NEW creations in Christ. I really related to Paige. She was the punctual, rule-abiding, perfect Christian who ended up struggling a bit with pride and needing to learn how accept people who weren't so perfect. I especially loved the situation with Tyler and her struggles to overcome his past.

At the same time, don't expect a deeply theological book. Paige is a Christian. But she is not a theologian. As a ministry wife, there were a few times that I was wishing Paige's understanding of Scripture was just a bit deeper or that she would take it just a bit more seriously. But she was meant to be a growing, maturing, modern Christian. If you are a Bible college graduate or seminary student, just enjoy and don't grasp at straws. It's supposed to be a fun book and it was.

Beside the great Christian content, this book was just fun. Although Paige's addiction to Oreo cookies started to turn my stomach (how can anyone like them THAT much?!), she definitely had her Starbucks priorities right.

I cried at the wedding.

I got warm fuzzies at the end.

I still hated Luke and loved Tyler.

Does anybody want to start a petition to convince Erynn to write a Book #4? 'Cause I'm dying to learn more about Paige and follow her life.

Highly recommended to teenage girls and women who love a great, fun read. Be prepared to laugh, tear up a bit, and even learn along the way.

I LOVED this book. This whole series actually, because the three books really go together. I did not want Paige’s story to end—but it ended quite perfectly, I admit. My favorite part about these books is how utterly real they are. It’s a happy ending, but it’s not an unrealistic happy ending. Being able to see every minute of Paige’s thoughts made me realize how not-so-alone I am in my different worries and emotions and thoughts, and I felt like Paige and I were best friends the whole way. And because the books are so real, I always am thoroughly inspired after every chapter in some way.

I had to take one star off because of some of the flawed theology throughout the book and a few of the small repetitious moments. Other than that, it would have been an easy 5 Stars, and still is in many ways.

This will be a series I reread. It was absolutely perfect for the stage of my life right now, and I am so glad I found it.

This book and this series were deeply satisfying and sold nourishing. It is so rare to find books where Christians living out grace and forgiveness, while still being honest about struggles and having real struggles.
This book was a perfect mixed. Real, flawed characters who were living out their faith in practical ways.

Besides, they made me laugh so hard.

I know these books will stick with me for a long time and I will be rereading them.

The humor was there, and I liked her friendship with Layla, but they still seemed really immature. Paige is 23 going on 15, with butterflies in her stomach if her boyfriend so much as looks vaguely in her direction, and despite living on her own, she doesn’t seem to take very good care of herself, living on a diet of popcorn, Starbucks, and Panda Express.

This is the last book of the trilogy, and it seemed so open ended! Tyler’s mother was introduced as this holier than thou, stuck up, snooty woman who has no respect for Paige at all....and then nothing happened with her. Why was she even in the story? Paige just thinks to herself, “well, my relationship is with Tyler and we’ll only see his mother twice a year” but that didn’t seem realistic or reasonable. She seemed in complete denial that the future mother in law would be an issue.

And then Tyler. I loved him in book 1 when he helped her and gave her advice, thought he was okay in book 2, but I couldn’t stand him in this book. He gives her the cold shoulder for the entire summer, to the point that she deconstructs every single interaction between them, blaming herself for what could have gone wrong, and then randomly decides to tell her his issue at the end of the summer and expects the relationship to carry on like normal! He should have just been honest with her from the beginning. I didn’t like the way he treated her when his mother came to visit either. He knew she would be rude and snotty, but he still left Paige alone with her, even when she asked him not to go. Honestly, I kept rooting for her to end up with Layla’s brother. I also didn’t like the proposal at Layla’s wedding. It seemed out of place and somewhat inappropriate (though at least he did it in private).

As always, the humor was good, but I have enjoyed other mangum books much more than this one.

After the last two books ended on pretty major cliff-hangers for Paige emotionally, this one concludes the series nicely.

I read books 2-3 back to back, so sometimes the individual content blurs together. I personally think that book 2 had the strongest message of all three books, but this one continued with some of the things that Paige had learned in book two.

Again, the Christian content seemed more prominent in this than in book one. Being that Paige is now helping more at church, it gives the picture of a modern church (I'm used to more traditional), but I didn't see anything taught that I felt was contrary to Scripture. Maybe some light-heartedness instead of sobriety but... I took it as being part of the culture.

The romance in this one doesn't progress much. Layla and Peter are getting closer to their wedding, so there's some drama with that, but it's realistic and well-portrayed. As for Paige and Tyler, there are some things going there, a little more focus about how much she likes him, etc. But nothing that really stood out to me as "on the edge."

My overall thoughts on this series...
It's a fun-to-read series when I don't want to think deep. As a writer, I'm wondering why I liked this series so much because I usually prefer more professionally-portrayed literature. Maybe I just needed a mental break. I do like comedy, and Paige's books were full of it! I think these books fit best for girls who are either raised in a less conservative home or conservative readers who are 16+.

Much like the first book, Paige Turned is a sweet, charming story with biblical themes such as forgiveness and reconciliation.
I really enjoyed this book. It was cool to see Paige mature as a person and in her relationships with family and friends (and Tyler 😉).

Just as a note, there were some mature themes included. They were handled fairly delicately, just FYI, this isn’t a good read for 10 year olds.

I have a few random complaints. They didn’t detract overall from the story, but were slightly irritating in a cute sort of way.

• Paige and her friends are literally almost always going to Starbucks or going out to eat. Yes, meeting with girls is part of her job, and Starbucks is a good place for that, but you don’t have to get something caffeinated every time, Paige! Starbucks does have non-caffeinated options! Like I said, not really a big problem, but after her third coffee, I was voting for Paige to stop.

•I would have liked to see Paige’s relationships with her small group girls a little more. A lot of the book revolves around her relationship with Tyler, which is fine, but working with and counseling teens was basically the whole point of her job switch in the second book, so it would have been cool if that was a bigger sub-plot.

Overall though, this was a very cute, enjoyable read.

Ughhh this series is officially added to my comfort read hall of fame!!! 🥹😭 i laughed and cried and everything in between, especially in this last book. This series isn’t anything crazy, and yes it is really cheesy at times and the amount of sugar these girls consume is actually brain numbing, but you know I don’t even care. I found myself relating to the day-to-day mundane life of Paige and I felt so seen by her relatable and realistic struggle with life in her twenties and how she grows in her relationship with the Lord. Erynn Mangum has become one of my favorite authors and I will happily read her grocery lists 💛

read this series if you like:
🌷 clean, no spice romance
🌷 strong faith content
🌷 slowwww burn romance
🌷 strong female friendships
🌷 an insane amount of Starbucks and Panda express references
🌷 a type A FMC that’s a too hard on herself perfectionist girlie 😇

(from my review at USA Today's Happy Ever After blog)

(This is the third and final book in the Paige Alder series)

Why you should read it: The end of book 2, Paige Rewritten, left me expecting a love triangle with newly returned bad boy Luke, but ... nope. Luke might still be interested in pursuing Paige, but she's done a good job shutting him down and that thread is only touched on now and then. But just because there isn't any romantic competition for Paige's heart doesn't mean all is right in her world. There is still plenty to drive Paige and Tyler apart and even though I am not one of those readers who abhors the "love triangle" concept, the things Paige and Tyler must face in order to stay the course are much more believable — and relatable — than two young men fighting over the same young woman.

This is a great, clean NA romance and this series will really resonate with young Christian women trying to find their place in the world and in romance. Erynn Mangum has a great first-person voice and writes in such a way that makes it easy for the reader to consider Paige Alder a friend. Her HEA moment is pretty doggone sigh-worthy, but I'm still sad to have come to the end of this series — it has been a pleasure to read.

4.5⭐️Oops I forgot to write a review! Hmm let me see 🤔 I really enjoyed this series as a whole. And I am SO sad there isn’t a book 4–I hated to say goodbye. This final book was super sweet. I loved the theme of forgiveness and how Paige continues to grow spiritually! I also found that I related to some of the way she responded to things—not always but many times she reminded me of my younger self.

I can’t remember a whole lot of issues, though I would say the target audience (and who I would recommend for this book) is 16-18+ (parents discretion) due to some more mature conversations that come up a couple times. Really it’s a clean book though—one of those cozy books you read and feel like you’ve made friends. I’d read the series again. The ending was a tad bit rushed to me, but I still found it sweet.

And this completes the series! I’m gonna miss all of these characters... a lot. I feel like I’ve lived with them for the past few days! I grew attached to them and their lives. I smiled, I laughed ( a lot!), and teared up. This whole series was a fun, inspiring one that I couldn’t put down. I didn’t want it to end! I didn’t want to say goodbye. The ending was perfect though... so I’m happy!!❤️

I was really looking forward to reading the last novel in this series.

But after the build-up of the first two books, it feels a lot like this third one is coasting without enough of its own momentum, doesn't have a lot of new or fresh places to go. At least not enough to keep it fresh for almost 300 pages. I'm also not finding this novel as funny as I did the first two. Although I'm more than halfway through, I'm not enjoying the read, so I won't be finishing it.

Still, I can see how other fans of Paige Alder could keep reading, as I'm pretty sure what's ahead for her in this story.

The trilogy finale. I'm reading through the notes I took as I read. There are quite a few. None of them have smiley faces.

- Yet another complaint about lack of contractions. Though I didn't notice it quite so much in this book which means one of two things: 1) Contractions were used. 2) (and by far scarier) I got used to it and didn't notice.
- I downloaded the ebook onto my phone from my library so I don't know if this was a weird formatting thing or what. But in chapter three AND fifteen the words just randomly become italicized? For the rest of the chapter?? The first time made me think maybe we'd moved into a dream sequence and I was so confused. WHY JUST WHY?
- We ran out of creative ways to show that Tyler makes her feel things (I still can't fathom why) so we have phrases like this: "A hundred and 12 mating butterflies land with a whoosh in my stomach." (Why are the butterflies mating?? What is the difference between a mating and non-mating butterfly in your stomach?)
- There were occasional tense switches that threw me off.
- Yet again, unnecessary pages of explanation. I did not need to know that Layla's parents did not live in the house Layla grew up in. Just... totally a waste of words.
- What happened to the whole Luke debacle? It just sort of fizzled out? On both their ends. How convenient.
- We're three books in and it still feels like a brand new, awkward relationship that's only been a thing for like, two months. I have no reason to believe they're serious about each other.

I finally read the last book in the series! I am a mix between happy about the ending and sad about having to finish the series.
I love the characters Paige and Tyler. They are both wonderful fictional role-models for what it looks like to walk with the Lord, even though you are flawed and have a difficult past. This book made me laugh so hard and then tear-up during other parts. All in all, this series is one of my favorite reads.

This book was incredible. Honestly, the more I read Erynn Mangum's work the more I love it. I mean, this book as zero one star reviews! That just shows how good a book and series this is.
To all other Christian girls looking for Christian fiction that doesn't revolve around romance, you should read any of Erynn Mangum's books. I haven't read all her books, but I have read three of her four series, and they are all wonderful and extremely clean.

Given the cleanness of the romance in this book and series, I would recommend this to any girl from thirteen or fourteen and older. The sins that some of the characters once struggled with are of a more mature content, but it is not at all descriptive. If this is something you don't want to read yet maybe wait till fifteen or sixteen.
I also could not find this book in book form anywhere, so I ended up reading it on an online library sight called hoopla. I promise you that hoopla is not a sketchy sight that will put a permanent virus on you're computer. It is just a great online library that lets one rent out eight books/movies/shows/albums a month, and is completely free.

I'm a huge Erynn Mangum fan, and I've enjoyed Paige's story.
I love the aspect of past sin and dating. I wish the characters had talked things out a little more because I think it's an important topic for Christian singles. Mangum handles topics with such a wit and humor that you almost forget a spiritual lesson is being shared.

The characters are well-rounded and fun. The plot is an easy and fast read. It's crazy how the author can focus on routine, daily life but make it an engaging read.

Fans of Christian fiction will enjoy this conclusion to Paige's story...although I'm sorry to see her go but eagerly look forward to the author's next book. (Hint: could we see a series featuring Luke? His story doesn't feel finished.)

Oh. My. Word!! This book-no-this series is beautiful in every way. The romance is perfect because it doesn’t feel like a fictional fairytale romance but something possible. Paige is so sweet. AND TYLER! Tyler(oh my word) he is AWESOME. I was laughing at all the jokes he made throughout the series. Just beautiful!

2024 reread: Eeeek! So beautiful. Tyler and Paige are adorable! I adore this entire series. It is clean and wholesome and I love the faith content. You most definitely should read

After reading all 3 books in 5 days, for the 1st time in my life I’m craving Starbucks yet never want to eat out again 🙃
This 3rd book was great- just the right amount of silliness & seriousness. I wasn’t too sure of Tyler in the first book but he grew on me & now it’s too bad there wont be a #4 to continue the journey with them 💜

I have enjoyed these three books but I enjoyed them a bit less each time, so this was my least favorite. I just got tired of the repeats, I think, and could not believe the obsession and overuse of coffee and Starbucks. I am not a coffee drinker so maybe I am biased against. But wow, can she not meet with girls at a park or at their house or somewhere else where you don't have to spend money like this and be treated every single time? Is this insane? Seems so to me. But the moral and the lessons and the plot I did enjoy. I liked these parts...

that the fruit of the Spirit has to be given from the Lord, and that our job is to focus on our relationship with Him and the fruits will come.

In my quest to please God, somehow I missed a very important fact. It's not a lifetime trying to be sinless we should pursue. Only one Man was able to accomplish that one. No, maybe it was a lifetime of trying to show Jesus to others.

And yes, Paige, me too. Days spent in the car always make me tired for some reason.

And I agree with Rick about how God has put us in a world that is just one big salvation message after another. My mom is so good at that kind of convo too. Hers involved an orange though instead of a banana! Ha!

Gosh, I'm literally sobbing while writing this. I just love Paige so much. It feels like I've watched her grow and grew with her at the same time, and I see so much of myself in her it freaks me out but encourages me. I didn't know I could love a character so much.
The writing is so good and Paige is such a modest and calming character, I want to read about the rest of her life and I could never get bored.
I can't believe the series is over :( but I am so glad I read this series. My heart is full.

100% rereading this entire series, but I gotta wait until I emotionally recover first

The 3rd book of the Paige Alder series, and I loved it. I read all 3 back to back so it felt like one fantastic book.

Mostly character based, I truly love Paige. There were some frustrating parts where I wish Paige and Tyler would communicate better, but Erynn Mangum would insert epic faith content and all nuances disappeared. The faith content is so powerful, I admire the story more for it.

I am sad that it ended, which I can’t remember ever feeling that way about a book.

A really great series for young adults (or 34 year olds like me). ❤️

Cute, quick, easy read. Read all 3 in the series within a week. A little cheesy, but that's to be expected. I like her writing style. She does a good job of helping you imagine the life of Paige. It's a little excessive with all the love of Starbucks and Panda Express, but it reminds of what it was like to be in my 20's. lol. Poor & single.

soooo good!

A clean refreshing series that keeps you wanting more! Finished the series in 4 days! I couldn’t put it down! Loved the scripture and the thought analysis that the characters go through to help find their path with Christ!

I wish there were a fourth book!

Getting to see Paige Alder’s head is an amazing journey. And so so funny! She’s neurotic, literal, and sometimes easily distracted. It’s such a hoot to be able to see her thoughts.

Fun ending to the Paige Adler series.

Faith aspects - excellent
Romance - light and sweet

For my personal taste I don't love weddings and the romance was a little too tame and light, but I feel confident giving this series as a recommendation to any teen as a sweet and fun romance.
