I read this as a devotional book, slowly over a long period of time. I LOVE the message version for its freshness. Normally I am not a huge fan of devotional books that dip in and out of different verses each day (I prefer ones that work through a bible book or follow a theme), however, this devotional despite following this pattern, really nourished my soul. Each day is a short passage and then you are challenged to:

Read: really meditate on the passage, re-read it.
Think: Think through what the passage is saying, in its orginal context and to you
Pray: Pray through what you have read
Live: Put into practice lessons learned from the passage

Highly recommend. It taught me to sit with Scripture more.

I appreciate that this devotion used The Message Bible, it added to the ease of understanding. This devotional is uplifting while also helping the reader dig into their actions.
