The Billionaire's Pregnant Lover

Rate this book
Sydney Watson couldn’t believe what a horrible person Dominic Carson was. From the first moment they met, he’d been rude, arrogant and threatening. And from that moment forward, the feelings he generated within her were confusing and intense. She refused to give in to her desires for him, but she couldn’t seem to stay away. She told herself over and over again that she didn’t like him, but she’d never felt so exhilarated and excited when he was close. And she didn’t understand how he could make her feel so crazy with just a simple touch. Dominic terrified her, but she was like a moth trying to touch the flame.

From the first moment of meeting Sydney, Dominic knew that he wanted her in his life. Forever. He fought it initially, but he’d never met a woman who excited and turned him on while at the same time delighting him in her intelligence and stubbornness. And she only wanted him. Not his money or anything he could do for her. Just him.

Sydney was a heady, sensuous woman and he knew they were made for each other. So why was she resisting their attraction at every turn? He told her to trust him and she said no, and yet she melted in his arms with a simple touch. When she was scared, she turned to him, but she wouldn’t even have dinner with him.

Sydney was going to be his. He just had to figure out how to convince her that their love for each other was powerful enough to overcome the differences she perceived.

Well that story was a bust. 😠

Just look at that cover!! So hot. I love this author's work and combined with that hot as hell cover I had HUGE expectations. Sadly this story was very disappointing. And frustrating. Sydney annoyed the hell out of me. She was rude, she had a nasty disposition, she was argumentative, and she was always looking for a fight. I really didn't like her at all.

Dominic was a decent Hero. He was a bit of a distant ass from the beginning, but he warmed up pretty quickly. He flipped for Sydney and was head over heels for her in short order during the first week he worked with her. That was kind of pathetic too, because Sydney treated him like shit through most of the story. I really couldn't see the draw to her except that he got to take her virginity. I definitely needed more from this story.

Re-read from several years ago .....

Goodness gracious! Sydney wore me out with her constant pushing away! If I was Dominic I wouldn’t have stuck around that long.

This author enjoys her heroes who are single playboys with mistresses or non committed sexual relationships with multiple women. Thankfully, while he had brief references to his previous mistresses but it was not a lot. Thankfully no past hookups showing up!

-no cheating
-safe- no others after meeting
-no ow/om drama
-virgin h/ non virgin hero
-no violence
-NO EPILOGUE which dropped my rating as well

"The Billionaire's Pregnant Lover" is the story of Sydney and Dominic.

Another of Ms Lennox's early works, this book has our heroine- a psychology student- who works as a temp secretary- finding work in a big corporation and meeting her grumpy boss- the hero. They banter while working together, and soon their chemistry is too strong to deny. Both are smitten, a pregnancy happens, followed by a HEA.

Short, sweet and low on angst.

Why do I do this to myself? The only reason I admit to reading this book was because of the cover. I know you're never supposed to judge a book by its cover but I can honestly say that the outside is better than the inside when it comes to this one. The short summary of the story is he likes her, she hates him, they end up in bed together, ( which is an area he lacks skills in) weeks later she's pregnant and they decide to get married, but not before confessing their undying love for each other. So now you don't even have to purchase this horrible story and its equally terrible characters because I did it for you. On to the next...

Another top read

I am a huge fan Elizabeth Lennox. I like how she wasn't falling at his feet when she first met him. She argued with him put him in his place and he fell in love. When she becomes pregnant he is so happy but he never told her he loves her and that's why she's so upset about marriage, marriage is about love not sex. Speaking of sex the chemistry is off the charts between these two. you will really enjoy this book

Ugh, the heroine was such a push over, I wanted to vomit...

repeatedly...

The hero just kept pushing and pushing and I wanted drama, I wanted her to scream and say no but she just gave in to almost everything.

Disgusting.. sad sack of a woman.

What is it with these short stories and their abrupt endings! they drive me bonkers!
I loved this story he's such an arse and she's just as stubborn.
I wished it was longer and had a better ending.

HP-style romance

This is a romance that has an old-school, vintage feel to it, even if it isn’t an HP. The story was solid and there were sparks between the MCs. I love enemies to lovers, falling for the boss and unexpected pregnancy tropes and this one has it all.

My only complaints are the ending was rather abrupt—One second hero is declaring his love and in the next, it’s over. That was a let down—and the use of condoms. Always a sure-fire way to destroy the intimacy between the hero and heroine, the sense of oneness and being completely connected. Maybe I’ve gotten really spoiled by reading so many epic indie romance authors who write scorching hot love scenes with nothing between the MCs, that every time I read a romance where a condom is used, it makes me cringe. But still, the story was good even if the love scenes were ruined, so I’ll give it that.

Hero was a manwhore before meeting heroine but is faithful to her after meeting. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to the hero. No ow/om drama. No abuse or cheating. Already mentioned condom use. HEA but no epilogue and a rushed ending.

The Billionaire's Pregnant Lover...

Big Apple Brotherhood book 1. Dominic is a total alpha billionaire and quite domineering. He made it big out of rough beginnings. Sydney is full of fire and yet hopefully innocent. She is working her way through college and on The edge of graduation. The two meet boss to employee and the sparks begin. The story become predictable at times but it's so funny and dramatic, that it keeps you reading with a smile on your face. Onto the next book.

This was a great after dinner story. I picked up the instant connection between Dominic and Sydney. I liked the fact that they spent so much time talking on the phone and challenging each other. It surprises me when the Dominic says everything under the sun to get Sydney to marry him except I LOVE YOU. . . . . Men can be slow tops some times. . .

Confident billionaire falls for a sweet good girl

Dominic is a self made man. He meets a young temp working in his office and sparks fly. Sydney is a hard working academic not looking for anything but a job making money to pay rent & buy food. She's soon to graduate from grad school and her life will be better. Wonderful romance. Linda

Awwwwww

I really enjoyed this book. It moved at a particular place - the way that all Elizabeth Lennox books do. It was sweet and funny and I love the way that they were constantly arguing with each other.

This was an intense, passion filled romance. Dominic had an instant attraction to Sydney when she came to work for him. Instead of acting on his attraction, he came off as rude, and arrogant. I really liked Sydney’s personality in this story. She stood up to him. Dominic also liked the fact that Sydney stood up to him. When Dominic could no longer fight his attraction, and gave in to the chemistry that was pulling them together, the passion was hot. Sydney was still leery of Dominic, and he had to work for her trust, and to win over her heart. I loved the way Dominic was always trying to take care of Sydney, and trying to feed her. Sydney didn’t want anyone taking care of her, so she fought against it every chance she could. The banter between Sydney, and Dominic was really good. If you enjoy a good romance, I think you will enjoy this book!

Sample from chapter 2
The silence of the office created an intimacy she hasn’t known existed before this moment. Her eyes looked up into his eyes, then involuntarily, they dropped to his mouth. She didn’t realize that she’d licked her own, but she knew that her body was aching to see what it would be like to touch him, to feel his lips against hers. She had to get out of here, she told herself. But her feet wouldn’t move. It felt like she couldn’t even breathe.
When his head slowly lowered to hers, she thought she just might faint from lack of oxygen. But then his lips touched. Slowly, ever so slowly, his mouth caressed her own. She felt her breathing shudder as she inhaled sharply. Then she lifted her face up higher, silently begging him to deepen the kiss. He promptly understood that message and her body went up in flames when he pulled her abruptly into his arms, his mouth devouring hers and his tongue demanding entry.

Okay First thing I would say, If you know Elizabeth and her writing, Their is only two thing you can do.. You will Love her work or you will hate her work.. Simple as that...

So in short it is a nice pass time read as usual... Their are no cliffhanger, No exes, No Misunderstanding, No Secret hidden in the closet, (or i should say skeleton) No drama, nothing such sort of thing, if you are hooker to those things i mention, don't read the book, you will be disappointed..

But on other hand if you are Hooker to romance without any complication but A little banter of Stubbornness and Assholicy They I say Go for it, it is small so won't take lots of time and It is cute which give your face small smiles and little flutter to your stomach... I recommend buy the book and read it on the subway back to your home after your tiring day from work, and then till you sleep the book will be over... Tada.. No need to wait for trilogy a year or so...

Simple read and nice Character, I won't say Awesome, But Nevertheless Nice...

Reading the book description I was a little excited to read this book. I don't know how many times I read and stopped. I couldn't finish the book. For me the problems first started with how the POV is written. I got confused because it switched off each paragraph from the girl to the guy and became hard to really get into their thoughts for me. Also, since the beginning, the story was just not believable. Although he found her attractive at the beginning, I still believe that didn't require him to act like a jerk. I really wanted to like this book, but I just couldn't get into it.

A lot of things have happened since. 2014 Was a very hard year for myself so all the reviews are showing up on the same date. I can't explain why they are, if the ratings are justice or accurate I can also not say when I truly read these. I'm just going to say 2014 on the same day added just to keep the year right if not the month...

If the rest of this series is anything like this book then I an REALLY going to enjoy it. Sydney couldn't understand why she was being sent as relief secretary, after all the money was so good couldn't one of there own secretary's act as stand in? Then she met the boss. Dominic was so rude no one else would work with him this must be the reason.

Awesome!

both Dominic and Sydney have this chemistry that i fell in love from the beginning to end. I love Sydney's being stubborn, and feisty. Dominic baby-ing Sydney make me think of how my husband is doing the same to me and our daughter. Awesome book, and will recommend for others to read.

Frustration is the word i'm looking for when I think bout this book but when all the hardships were over life is given to the couple who made me want to throttle them. Every emotional and heartwarming I recommend this book to anyone who can withstand the hardships.
