Who is Geronimo Stilton? That's me! I run a newspaper, but my true passion is writing adventure stories. Here in New Mouse City, the capital of Mouse Island, my books are all bestsellers! My stories are funny, fa-mouse-ly funny. They are whisker-licking-good tales, and that's a promise! Red Pizzas for a Blue Count My troublemaker cousin was trapped in Transratania! And before I could even squeak, my sister, Thea, dragged me along on her rescue mission. Little did we know that Transratania is the land of vampire bats! Holey cheese, bats give me mouse bumps! Why? Well, there's nothing a bat likes more than sinking its teeth into a nice, juicy mouse....

I love counts and in most Halloweens, I try to dress up as a vampire it's just too cool. The teeth and everything. Reading a book about my favourite Halloween character. It was a really funny book and I enjoyed it. This book was about a count as you guys have already seen from the name. My favourite character is a trap because he was in love with a vampire. I think that's very silly as the vampire would probably just attack him and suck his blood. My favourite part is when trap and Benjamin take the vessels and play the music because it was very silly music and the sound would turn out horribly as vessels aren't instruments and the sounds would be just irritating.
Another one with vampire references, but still. Awful how the focus is on colors and font and not on actual plot or storytelling. The characters are not really like able. My niece thinks these are great books, but I would not recommend that anyone spend money on these.
2 étoiles. Bon. Ce n’était pas des vampires, mais je n’ai pas aimé tout le drame et comment on était manipuler à croire que c’était des vampires. C’était une histoire bizarre, lourde, et sombre.

I read this in French to see if it was worth reading. It wasn’t about vampires but I didn’t like all the drama and how you were manipulated to believe it was really vampires. It’s a story that’s bizarre, heavy, and somber.
i told myself i wouldn’t waste my time reviewing this, but it needs to be said. i wanted to read a couple of childhood favorites because i was in the mood for them, and i found this book on my little brother’s bookshelf. i was genuinely excited, yet when i began to read this i was gravely mistaken. this book will seem fun on the outside but there are problematic undertones in which shouldn’t be taught to children.
1.) girl hate
Thea is Geronimo’s sister, and after an encounter with another female character she turns nasty. at first i thought it was fine because the character was slightly rude, but thea has no means of calling her “a witch” and “a ninny” repeatedly.
2.) “xenophobia” kinda
towards the end of the book after the cook has save the female character, she pronounces her love to him, and he returns her feelings. however, she leans in to give him a hug and it turns out she is a bat. the cook is shocked and says “this is never going to work...we are too different, you and i.” it’s quite disgusting how before he was infatuated with her and now he repulsed by the thought of her (he almost fainted). her feelings were hurt in the end. now you’ll be wondering..so what? well i’ll tell you what! let’s think about this with humans. if one race happens to look like a different race and then the partner finds out the person is not actually the race they thought they were and they leave them...what will happen? just think about it.
3.) infidelity
the female character is actually ENGAGED to another bat when she announces her love for the cook after “saving her life” (she fell down a couple of stairs). it shouldn’t be taught that going off with another person just because the person you are engaged to is boring is okay. that’s not okay!
these are only the topics that bothered me the most and there’s so many more that i could continuously talk about. i didn’t like this at all :(((( it’s sad cuz the beginning was actually kinda nice but :/
"Red Pizzas for a Blue Count" by Geronimo Stilton is a delightful addition to the children's book series. With its vibrant colors, engaging characters, and a dash of humor, the book captures the imagination of young readers and takes them on an entertaining journey.
In this installment, Trap gets mouse-napped in Transratania and it was up to Thea and Geronimo Stilton to rescue him. Little did they know that Transratania was the land of vampire mice! The narrative unfolds with a perfect blend of suspense and humor, keeping readers hooked from start to finish. Geronimo's distinctive voice, filled with witty remarks and comical expressions, adds an extra layer of enjoyment.
The illustrations, a hallmark of the Geronimo Stilton series, are as charming as ever. They complement the text, bringing the characters and settings to life. The use of colorful fonts, varied typography, and playful layouts adds an interactive element that appeals to young readers, making the book accessible and engaging.
Geronimo Stilton has gone on many adventures throughout the series, but none as creepy as Transratania, a name that may sound familiar to connoisseurs of the classic novels. As noted by the location Transratania and the title of this book, this story was inspired by the famous (or famouse?) book Dracula.
Geronimo, Thea, and Benjamin travel to Transratania after learning that Trap is trapped in Count von Ratoff's castle. There, the locals are incredibly weary of strangers and consume a huge amount of garlic. In fact, they scramble at the very sound of the name Count von Ratoff.
Is there something sinister about Count von Ratoff and his castle? Read to find out.
Did you have the same reaction to the ending as I did?
Red Pizzas for a Blue Count by Geronimo Stilton is about some mice Geronimo, Thea, and Benjamin, who go to a creepy castle to find Geronimo’s cousin Trap. Trap went there to find a royal member (blue blood) of his family tree. Trap gets hired on as a cook for the count who lives there. The other three mice encounter some strange characters and have lots of silly adventures. This book also has several built in mysteries that the mice solve. In the book I think the characters are funny. For example, Geronimo faints whenever he sees blood or someone talks about blood. Trap keeps referring to his family tree as the “furry tree”. I recommend this book to anyone who likes silliness mixed in with a mystery. The book has lots of pictures that help describe the adventures. Some of the words were larger and a different color which helped focus my attention to what was going on. If you don’t like mice, rats or bats it might not be the book for you.
Geronimo receives a troubling phone call from his cousin, Trap, and it appears he needs help. Trap is in Transratania, inside the castle of Count Von Ratoff whom everyone seems to be afraid of. Geronimo, with his sister and nephew, head out to save Trap only to find out he's been working for the count as his cook. Geronimo is upset that his cousin tricked him but out of nowhere, Trap vanishes behind a rotating bookshelf. They have to find Trap again and accept jobs as helpers for the count in order to locate his cousin and dig up some knowledge about Count Von Ratoff.
I'm giving this book three stars. I enjoyed the little drawings put along the margins of the page and how it was integrated into the text. It's engaging and easy to read along. My only problem was understanding the plot. These books didn't draw my attention when I was a child. Reading it now, though, I kind of wish I had. Illustrating certain words in the text made the story more appealing to me. The word would be bolder or set in another color with a larger font, bringing it to life. At the end of the book, there is a map of the city where the main character lives. The map had labeled major landmarks which I found cute and amusing I loved how detailed the images were. Even though I didn't understand the plot entirely, I would still recommend this book to children. It'll make them giggle and use their imaginations.
3.5 mi era mancato leggere un qualche libro di geronimo stilton, è stato carino e rilassante! me lo ricordavo più lungo, ma è stato ugualmente piacevole :)
Not my thing. I feel like this book is gimmicky and was really going nowhere. It was so boring and they kept hinting at things. But seriously, it was almost offensive to my intelligence. But then maybe kids like it because they know better than the characters. I can totally see that but as an adult reading it, I just couldn't do it.
Really boring and far to easy, the picture's are alright but not enough creativity, every book of this series have the same introduction and it's getting really lame...
I read this in French (Un Sorbet Aux Mouches Pour Monsieur Le Comte) to see if it was worth reading. It wasn’t about vampires but I didn’t like all the drama and how you were manipulated to believe it was really vampires. It’s a story that’s bizarre, heavy, and somber.

On the stormy-spooky night: the famous editor of the Rodent Gazette, Geronimo Stilton, was trying to fall asleep when he received a strange call from his cousin Trap, who sounded like he was in danger. In the heat of the moment, Geronimo called his sister and they set off to go save Trap in whatever mess he made this time! As they arrive in the village that the locals have plagued as haunted and creepy, they realize that Trap has ended up at the Von Ratoff castle playing cook. Now it is up Geronimo and his family to figure out the secret of the castle, the secret about the Von Ratoff, and how they will escape alive?
This was the second Halloween book in the Geronimo Stilton series and I think this was my favorite when I was younger because I was super into vampires during that time with the release of Twilight and other vampire books. I realize in this book that I did not like Trap very much and the reason being is that he was so head over heels for the vampire rat but once he found out what she really was he instantly was like absolutely not! I understand that bats eat mice, but it seems anticlimactic in the end. Overall, I thought this book was a really fun read and honestly enjoyed it and cannot wait to continue on the series.
This book talks about a mice family that had a troubley mouse that put himself in danger. This book is talking about this story.
So one day my cousin was trapped in Transratania! And before I could even squeak, my sister, Thea dragged me along on her rescue mission. Little did we know that Transratania is the land of vampier bats! Holey cheese, bats give me mouse bumps! Why? Well, there is nothing a bat likes more than sinking its teeth into a nice, juicy mouse...
I love re listening to parts of my childhood. I even dug around and found my paperback copy of the story.
My mother and I listen to it in the car I thought she would hate it but she laughed a couple of times and even ask what happened at the end S we got out of the car before it was over.
I remembered mr dontbotherme's song as well and sang along!
Read this book with my 6 year old kid. He enjoyed it a lot. What I found interesting was the way some words were highlighted, written in a different - scarry, funny dragging format. It was amazing to see my kid change his tone accordingly while reading those words.
He was more exited that the book was written by a mousy :D
The story was engaging too. Happily recommend for younger kids and also adults who enjoy imagination. Go for it.
Another fun Geronimo Stilton with its characteristic illustrated words to improve understanding of vocabulary.
In this episode Geronimo is traveling to a Transylvania-like place to rescue his cousin when he sends a call for help.
This book does not build as much background knowledge with the plot revolving around vampire mice, but it was still interesting to a variety of my students 2nd-4th grade.

When Thea finds out that Trap is trapped in Transratania, she drags Geronimo along for a rescue mission, and right into a world of vampire bats! Dami excels at spreading thrills and chills with this enjoyable adventure. The "Geronimo Stilton" series reaches all new heights as our heroes brave the scariest parts of the world for family!
