I got the book simply because I wanted to know more about body language. I wanted a simple and easy book, so when I came across this with the saying quick and easy I just took it.

The book really does mean easy with illustrations to show expressions and body positions. The book provides detailed explanations for each type of body language.
Most of the information is this book can be picked up during our daily interactions with people.

Although there are exceptions, but overall the book is useful if you want to know more about body language.

This book is very factual and it's split into different sections properly. But it's difficult to read rather difficult to read it on a continuous basis since it's so factual. But I do learn a lot from it.

Interesting and fun.

Typically the kind of book that whets my curiosity. I'll browse its contents in a bookstore or library. After a moment, I'll be completely captivated by the informations and will try to memorize them. Only problem is even with the best will, I will never move from theory to practice ...

Except one day, during a conversation with someone, a gesture made by my interlocutor will startle me and I will remember having read something ... At this moment, I will plunge into the book again with pleasure. It's why, I enjoy keeping those kind of books on my shelves.
After reading them, you forget them. But, when you reread them, they always have something new to teach you.

It is often said that I do not hide my emotions and that you can read me like a book ... That is why these methods of deciphering body language amuses me. I loved the TV show, "Lie to me", and "BODY LANGUAGE QUICK & EASY" is not the first book of its kind that I read. However, I must admit I learned new things.

Full of comparisons and references to our dailylife help, the reader to easily understand and retain the explanations. Now, I pay attention to people yawning in a conversationv or if they touch their nose, chin or ears. Be careful!

I do not know if this can dramatically change the outcome of an encounter but it's full of helpfull informations, that tend towards positive thinking, and give advices to gain confidence by correcting bad habits.
Very interesting.

I have always been interested in body language and the 'tells' that we unconsciously give off. I used to watch the show "Lie To Me" constantly...though a lot of that may have been because of Tim Roth.

This was a good look at body language and how you can tell certain things about someone's emotional status while you're talking to them. It's titled "Quick and Easy" so I didn't expect it to go into a huge amount of detail and wasn't disappointed with what I read. I do wish a few things had been expanded, though. I would have liked to hear more about micro-expressions and less about what anger/sadness/fear/surprise looks like. I think most people are already pretty aware of those expressions.

It was an interesting book and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a simple, overall look at body language.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for sending me a review copy.

Seems quite thorough, but would benefit from more illustrations or photos, and we don't really need to be told what a smile or a frown means ... also there are quite a few instances of the author's personal experiences, which don't really add anything to the subject. It would benefit from some editing, but otherwise interesting, particularly the part on body language in business situations. Also has a section on body language in romantic situations.

Reviewed in exchange for a preview Kindle copy.

I was provided this in exchange for an honest review from Netgalley.

I was slightly disappointed by this. I dont know why though but I just didn't feel like I learned much.

Most of what you read in this going to be self-explainatory. I mean there's a section with pictures literally showign sadness, by the turned down lips in a frown.

That's the best you can describe?

Hopefully you find it more educational or enlightening than I did.

Wouldn't you like to know what others are thinking when you pitch a project idea? Or know if your husband is really paying attention when you tell him about your day? "Body Language Quick & Easy" gives you ways to translate the unspoken language of body postures and movements. Great insight into what others are "saying."
