REDEMPTION is a companion book to The Point: The Redemption of Oban Ironbout. The work is set on the metaphorical Isle of Estillyen, where creative monks stage dramatic readings of biblical stories. In The Point, the readings were presented in synopsis form. Now readers can delve into the twelve Scripture narratives as they were originally given by the monks of Estillyen. Richly inspiring, this unique volume promises to draw readers closer to the theme of redemption and to the Redeemer himself. The story beckons. Life it gives. Redemption it offers.
William Jefferson’s first novel, Messages from Estillyen, is a highly allegorical tale set beyond the Storied Sea on the distant isle of named Estillyen. As Jefferson puts it, “Estillyen is equally far from everywhere, but mystically near.”
BlueInk Review gave Messages from Estillyen a stared review, saying:
The author’s writing is skilled, poetic, and reminiscent of the classical period. This is a book to savor, not to gulp; the pace is leisurely. The style is allegorical in part, reminiscent of John Bunyan and C.S. Lewis. The “readings” hearken to Donne and Milton as well.
Clarion Review followed suit:
The author weaves the threads of his story deftly and often poetically, shaping phrases with a lilting rhythm that evokes the cadences of storytellers of old . . .
Jefferson takes readers on rich allegorical journeys that skillfully embrace modern themes along the way. His latest novel, Presence, the Play, addresses the need of personal presence in a world awash in virtual, mediated matter.
Presence, the Play traces the journey of the main character, Script, to hell and back, as he recites Chaucer and Dante. The work is vibrantly Tolkienesque with C.S. Lewis acuity.
In many respects, Jefferson’s 2018 novel, Divine Choreography of Redemption, sets the stage for Presence, the Play. While not bound by space and time, Jefferson’s work is not divorced from human worth, want, and reality.
Bill Jefferson writes from a Civil War-era cottage in the rural Ozarks and is the owner of Storybook Barn. The original 1880s all-occasion venue welcomes guests from near and far. Redemption by William Jefferson is a very resourceful book.it takes us to the figurative island of Estillyen. The island of Estillyen is the perfect place to hide and relax from the troubles of everyday life. The fascinating thing about the island is that traveling to the island is also super affordable. It’s all inside this book and only you have the power to make your imagination a reality. This book takes you down the road of imagination. Redemption is a spiritual book with a focus on spreading the Christian message about Christ and the good news of salvation, the things he stands for, and his mission on earth which were all centered around redemption. The book begins on the premises of the fall of man in the garden and gradually moves to focus on Christ. Redemption stands out and takes on a life of its own with many special features. I can say that the book can well pass for a classic novel. Jefferson uses simple language to portray his message to make it easy for everyone to read. I strongly recommend this book for Christian families and anyone who wants to have a deep understanding of the redemptive works of Jesus.

William Jefferson, founder of Port Estillyen Productions and author of the breakthrough new novel, 'The Point - The Redemption of Oban Ironbout', has spent his professional career advancing Scripture mission programs through diverse forms of media. After 25 years of strategic leadership on behalf of well-known Bible societies and evangelization organizations, Jefferson is uniquely positioned to present Scripture's ancient truths, in a modern context of media and culture.
Prior to authoring 'The Point', Jefferson helped to structure and implement global initiatives and programs for prominent organizations such as the American Bible Society, United Bible Societies, the International Bible Society (Biblica), and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. He holds an M.Th. in Theology and Media from the University of Edinburgh and an M.A. in Communications from Wheaton Graduate School.
With his novel, 'The Point - The Redemption of Oban Ironbout', Jefferson shares much of the wisdom that he has gleaned during his career: that words matter, that every human being has innate worth, and that Christ alone is the perfect union of Medium and Message.
William Jefferson's preferred title is simply "Message Maker." He writes from his rural home in the Ozarks, where he lives with his wife, Lois, and Border collie, Archie.
My Review: Recently, I had the chance to review a different type book then I am use to reviewing, the name of the book is "The Point: The Redemption of Oban Ironbout". The link to that review is here. The Point was sort of a mystical book that the author used to create a place of heaven here on earth. This book was an interesting one, Redemption is the companion book to The Point. It takes the subject of the previous book and delves more into the subject matter presented. If interested in purchasing or even learning more about it please visit this link.
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review by the author.
In Redemption, Jefferson unfolds the complete readings of the Monks of Estillyen, covered in part in The Point, as Reader and his companion, Voice, explore the deeper meanings of the stories in scripture, from the Old Testament to the New. They follow along as God unfolds His ultimate plan of redemption for mankind, culminating with the resurrection of Christ and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
Insightful and thought-provoking, the events of the Bible are examined from both the point of view of the scriptures, as well as Lucifer and his demons- displaying how the enemy works to twist our thinking to drive us away from our Redeemer, in a way that is reminiscent of The Screwtape Letters by C. S. Lewis.
Full of depth and beautiful, lyrical prose, this book is meant to be savored slowly to truly allow the full impact of its message to fall on the reader. I enjoyed reading this book alone, in a quiet room, but I also thought that the format of the book (as a conversation between Reader and Voice) would make it perfect for reading during a family Bible study or church group. This book helps readers to understand how much God’s Word truly matters.
