In today’s world, it’s tough to make everyday decisions, let alone decisions that honor God. Our culture is increasingly driven by selfish desires. However, as Christians, our lives should not be self-centered and static; they should be others-centered and active, making a difference for the Kingdom of God. Living "So That” is a fresh approach to understanding God's Word, focusing on many of the powerful "so that" verses in Scripture, including Jesus Came So That. . .; God Spoke So That. . .; Pray So That. . .; Trials Come So That. . . . Through her approachable style, personal examples, and biblical teaching, Wendy equips readers to take what they study in the Word of God and practically live it out in order to impact the world around them. The result is a renewed appreciation for the power and applicability of Scripture. Through practical examples and biblical truths, Wendy helps readers gain a new perspective on daily living, equipping them to apply these biblical truths to present-day decision-making. Features
Living So That – Making Faith-Filled Choices In The Midst Of A Messy Life by Wendy Blight is a unique Bible study that’s designed to help us live out what we learn in the Bible so that we can impact the world around us.
Wendy accomplishes this by taking us through a study of several of the powerful “so that” verses of Scripture:
* Jesus Came So That… * God Spoke So That… * Pray So That… * Trials Come So That… * Let Your Light Shine So That…
One of Wendy’s goals in this study is to help us make faith-filled choices, regardless of the trials and circumstances in our lives.
Living So That is a fresh and practical study that offers women biblical perspective and wisdom for their daily lives.

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book from the publisher for review purposes. However, the opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
This is a beautiful study filled with truths that are deeply rooted in the Word of God. Each section begins with a memory verse for that week and ends with a call to action. There are five sections with five chapters in each part, making it easy to do in five weeks.
I truly enjoyed this book and recommend it to my Christian sisters. Sometimes we need a fresh perspective on God's Word and this book acts as another tool in deciphering it. But always remember: a study is a study. The Bible can--and will--stand alone. It's just nice to have another way to help better understand the words of our King.
A deep insightful book that forces you to look at places that you don't want to in an authentic, honest and loved manner. Wendy Blight shares her messy past to teach God's grace, will, prayer, humility, and forgiveness.
Ok, hear me out. I know this is a 5 week study that took me over a whole year to finish. I’m usually really good with these, but I had a tough time finishing this one for multiple reasons. I lost the physical book at least 3 times, once leaving it somewhere I didn’t think I would get it back from, and twice at my parents house 14 hours away. The back cover ripped completely off at one point, and I definitely left it at work or at home on accident many, many times. This is a very deep dive into the subjects at hand, and at times I found myself losing focus or drifting off. I am no quitter though, and I definitely wanted to go on the deep dive with this study. I recommend if that is what you’re looking for!
This is the second book I’ve read in the InScribed Collection and I’m so fascinated by these books with such truly unique points of view. Living so That is just as distinctively different as Amazed and Confused and I gleaned even more information from this one.
I think what sets these books apart is they each seem to have a unique main point that I personally have never read before and they just build on that. In Amazed and Confused it was “God is Not Nice” and in Living So That, everything has a ‘so that’ somewhere in the middle.
For example, Chapter one is ‘Jesus Came so That.’ Each chapter begins with a memorization verse. I remember as a kid I was always adept at memorizing scripture and could remember hundreds of them. As an adult, I confess that memorization of scripture is not something I’ve regularly done. In fact, I think the only time I do is when I’m helping my kids memorize their verses! Blight challenges the reader to memorizer the scripture at hand and it was actually kind of fun to get back into that. I don’t know why I ever stopped.
Next comes the message and prayer. I really appreciated her straightforward way of speaking in the message and the prayers were really helpful in voicing what had been discussed. It’s not always easy to put our heart into words and Blight does a great job of putting it all together in a prayer.
I found the most challenging section to be the ‘Application’ and then ‘If you want to go deeper.’ I think the book itself with all the times you stop and look up scripture and the application are challenging and deep enough but it’s nice that she offers the section to go deeper for those that really want to dig in. I do think the chapters could have been a bit shorter but I just did the sections that are broken down within the chapters like part one, part two etc. when I was limited on time.
Blight has some great insights and really encourages an in depth study of the Bible whether it be alone or in depth. Living So That was a unique approach I hadn’t read before so it kept me going even when it got really challenging.
I loved this devotional - Wendy has taken me on a journey through God's Word - 1. Jesus came so that 2.God Spoke so that...3. Pray so that... 4. Trials come so that... 5. Let your light shine so that... She has taken each section and divided into 5 parts (one for each day of the work week) so that you may start an adventure into the Word of God - She takes the life lessons from her horrific experience, and many of God's wonderful healing situations after this...to inspire, and relate to us as Christian Women. Would highly recommend this book to all...but especially if you have experienced hard times in this life...she doesn't have all the answers, But she knows who does, and shares that in this wonderfully powerful inspired devotional. You feel like you are sitting in her living room with a cup of coffee - discussing life. Grab it, you will not be disappointed. You will want the actual book, as there are many places to write your thoughts. ENJOY
Great! Working through "so that" phrases in Scripture and applying them to our every day lives. There's no better feeling as a Christian to know that the Word was applicable yesterday, it is still applicable today, and it will be tomorrow! God's Word is unchanging, yet we can still follow His commands and guidelines for our life so that we can glorify Him in all that we do. Enjoyed the Scriptures chosen for memorization and the thought-provoking questions within each chapter and section.
Living so That, Making Faith-Filled Choices in the Midst of a Messy Life by Wendy Blight offers a book which shows its readers how to take what they learn in the Bible and apply it to everyday situations. She answers imperative questions such as "why does God allow trials?" with providing scriptural answers and experiences she has gone through. This book will show that God is still alive today and concerned over what we are going through.
I really enjoyed this study. It's much more in depth than I first believed it would be, however it was enjoyable. I loved noticing all the "so that" verses in the Bible. I also really appreciated the author's insight into different parables and situations in the Bible. She made me look at many of this in a new and thoughtful way.
A solid topical Bible study, this book is an examination of five key aspects of the faith--Christ, Scripture, prayer, trials, and the Christian life. A terrific introduction to those topics for new believers and encouragement for mature Christians. The study is divided into five daily lessons over the course of five weeks. I needed about an hour to complete each daily lesson.
I loved this bible study so much. It has truly thought me how to apply scripture and prayer into my everyday life. I saw Wendy Blight at Calvary Chapel's women's Shimmer conference this past summer. She was one of the speakers and her testimony was very inspiring to me. I highly recommend this bible study to anyone who wants to grow deeper in their walk.
First few chapters were informative, but didn't get me really enthralled, but she gained speed as the chapters progressed and now I seem to recognize 'so that' verses more than I used to. Sometimes it felt a bit sporadic---but somehow it always came together in the end. I would still recommend it. There are some great lessons in here! I will need to reread it just to absorb it all.
This study focused on verses in Scripture that touch on ‘so that’ statements, like Jesus came so that… pray so that… trials come so that… give so that…
A fresh way to look at scripture, encouragement.
The Inscribed collection is a great study set that ask questions that lead to hope.
I would say this book is the best. I liked the fact it got me in God's Word. It made me look at God's Word differently. I believe that every woman that reads it will be closer to God and See Him in a different light.
So good! I redid this study with more friends. Even won a Skype visit with Wendy through a FB contest with the publisher - such a blessing! Thanks for spending a whole bible study hour with us, Wendy, "so that" we could learn even more!
I enjoyed reading this book and it was very helpful and relevant to my studies. I highly suggest purchasing the actual book instead of a kindle version, you will want to take notes.
One of the best studies I've done in a long time - I would recommend this to anyone who wants to dig into their Bible. Dust it off! It really does have a lot of wisdom :)
