une histoire complète et recherchée de la trajectoire du hip-hop à houston entre 1979 et 1991. très intéressant surtout pour l'histoire du hip-hop dans la ville avant les premiers enregistrements discographiques, et la contextualisation de cette apparition avec l'histoire de la musique afroaméricaine locale. malheureusement l'ouvrage s'arrête là et dj screw n'est évoqué que dans la postface, ugk ne sont que brièvement mentionnés, etc. un volume 2 couvrant la suite de l'évolution du hip-hop à space city serait bienvenu.
