Quantum Poems is the long awaited new collection by the internationally acclaimed poet Seb Doubinsky. "The whole collection. . . reads as one long poem with pauses in between (the white noise of daily life) and then these snapshots of sheer magic that radiate with a synaesthesia of all the senses intermingling- words, breath, the ticking of the clock. There is such a pulse in these lines. . ." Cynthia Atkins Seb Doubinsky was born in Paris and spent part of his childhood in the USA, an experience that indelibly marked him for life. He currently lives in Denmark with his wife and children. He writes fluently in both French and English and has published more than a dozen novels that blur the boundaries between literary fiction, science fiction and crime fiction, and a volume of short stories. His poetry has been published around the world to great acclaim and has been collected into at least seven stand-alone volumes. He edits the bi-lingual online literary magazine Le Zaporogue, publishes books under his Les Editions du Zaporogue imprint and is at work on at least one new novel.
I was born in Paris, in 1963, right in the middle of a western movie, of which my parents never saw the end. I have thereafter split my life between France and the USA, having spent most of my early childhood in Syracuse, and Seattle. After some studies, a lot of wandering and a few strange jobs, I have finally found myself teaching French literature in Denmark, where I have been living since 2007.
A collection of poetry that takes small passages and gives a brilliant thought. How far can a few short words go, Doubinsky's goes beyond far. Let me share a few lines with you.
"No words for me today the earth is as flat as the sky and the birds have left their songs hanging in the trees"
Reads like a long poem but written in small amounts of energy. Doubinsky is a short text genius. I need more. I'll list my overall favz.
