For Harry Lamb, that is the only question that matters after suddenly losing his job at a major investment bank.
But when he investigates the circumstances surrounding his sudden dismissal, he finds it was linked to the critical research he wrote on on the telecoms and broadcasting giant Cable Media.
Why did they choose me?
For Julia Porter, that is the only question that matters after she is plucked from her job in management consultancy to work for the Serious Fraud Office.
But when she stumbles across the the largest insider dealing ring the City has even seen, she realises she is up against something far more serious than financial fraud.
Both Harry and Julia are up against the same enemy - unknown, unseen, and all-powerful.
Forced together, they find themselves alone and on the run, tracked by lethal professionals who can find them anywhere.
And in a desperate race against time, they must fight to prove their innocence - and to stay alive.
I am a thriller writer, living near London. 'Death Force' is the first in a series of books following a group of mercenaries around the world. It owes a lot to action, adventure writers like Alistair MacLean, and World War Two writers like Sven Hassel. It also owes a lot to Westerns. When I'm not writing thrillers, I write a financial column for Bloomberg, and I write for The Spectator.
Loved this book! These stand alone novels by Matt Lynn are night and day different from his Death Force series. I don't usually step outside of my genre, but I am so glad I did. This novel was well written, well researched and had great characters. You really found yourself intertwined within this story. This stand alone seems to have been written about a decade ago due to some info being dated. This leads me to believe these were not published years ago. I myself am so glad they finally made it and gave me 2 days of enjoyment. Harry the main character will suck you in, you will be rooting for him to figure the mystery out. A solid 4.5 stars, put this one on your must read list, you will not be disappointed.
I do not often give up on a book but this one beat me. I only got as far as chapter two and I could not stand it any longer. To start with it was boring, the spelling and grammar were terrible, whoever proof read this book should be put up against a wall and shot. It was so bad that I just had to put it out of it's misery and delete it from my kindle, never to be seen again. If there were a minus rating on here I would of used it. A crime against literature.
