When he’s not writing you’ll finding him gaming or driving steam trains at the local Heritage Railway, and obeying the rule of his two cats, and the dog – oh and the gecko.

James Knight is a young man plunged into a world of fantasy and adventure. Wrap this story in a steampunk post-modern curtain and add a purple-haired, curvy airship captain and you have a geek-fest of a book that doesn't disappoint. Exciting and moving, this book is told from the heart and touches on some themes that can be hard for first time authors to address to young audiences. Allan Bott does a great job of transitioning the reader from a slightly Michael Morpurgo-like farm to a fantasy world filled with airships, fantasy, epic royal quests and magic.
