After Danny Anderson barely graduated from high school, he found that he had no home, no college, no job, no family. Danny had broken his high school girlfriend’s heart, and one night her mother appears at his door. She’d had a witch construct a love charm and now Danny must pay the witch. With no prospects for his future and out of guilt for hurting her daughter, Danny agrees. But very quickly he discovers two things: First, that he seems to have a degree of Power; and Second, that Power is transforming him into a female.
I started writing as a child, and won my first national writing award in sixth grade. I edited and wrote for my high school and college creative writing magazines, but then life got in the way and didn’t write fiction for years—I wrote for hire. Magazine articles (in music and travel), advertising copy, corporate newsletters and software manuals paid the bills. I have always been interested in the discovery of a person’s true nature and sexual identity, and began exploring different literary genres and structures to tell those important stories.
This is the second time that I've read Fool Moon. Jason's novels have that effect on me- they're that good! Fool Moon is typical in that regard. Memorable characters and finely crafted plots. Fool Moon is an unusual story of the supernatural, where the characters are so realistic, you feel that they are walking among us. Maybe they are. Karin keep giving us more of your terrific writing!
This second book by Miss Bishop was A very good book that combined magic and transgender in a combination that was enjoyable and believable unlike one of her previous books that I did not like. This one more than made up for the last one.
Only ever found a few magical TG books that I've really enjoyed and this is one of them. The story is exciting, well written and believable, as much as a magical story can be believed. The characters are well rounded and there are some wonderful interactions between them.
Would have enjoyed more from the dark side of town but everything else is wonderful
I know there is an epilogue at the end to tie things up, but if there is ever a sequel I want to read it.
This story is about Danny becoming Danielle with the help of a “witch,” for lack of a better word. It has some really good parts and really made me look at a few things in my life that brought me sorrow or joy in a new light.
The story is a little lacking as it just sort of stops at one point and plunges into multiple epilogues that I really felt could have been their own chapters. I admit I liked some of this author’s other works better, but this one is still worth reading.
The time it takes to read this excellent and thought provoking story, Karins's talents as an author show through in the way she makes her characters come to life, So much so that you feel part of them ,It's a long story (over 500 pages ) but then it has to be given the scope of Danielle's journey to find her true self.
Karin of all your stories I have read this is the most emotionally charged. You especially explained everything between “Danny and Marcie beautifully. No further explanation or detail necessary.
Another fantastic read from Karin and I think the epilogue just added to this great read. The characters well portrayed and substantial in their own various guises.
