Published since 2010, she first went through a 2-year writing correspondence class in children’s literature from The Institute of Children’s Literature, then graduated with a Bachelor's in Arts-English with an emphasis in creative fiction writing from Pittsburg State University.

I fell in love with this author recently reading 'Price of a kiss' so naturally as soon as I finished that book I went on a search to find other books by Linda Kage and came across this book. For a self confessed romance addict the title had my love radar going off immediately. 'How to resist prince charming' was a sweet, lovely, don't-need-much-brainpower tale of forbidden love and instant attraction and I was glad I sought out more from the author as I'm definitely now a fan of her writing style and ability to get me involved in her stories of love.

What's it all about?
Braxton Farris has just landed the job as the CEO of his family business. For years his father has grown the company into a successful and profitable organisation. Filling his dads shoes is more than a large task especially when some of the established employees are unsure of Braxton's credentials. Lenna Davenport is a blonde bombshell who has lived under the love and affection of her father all her life, this same father is an employee and arch enemy of his new found boss, Braxton Farris, when Lenna is taken to a staff party with her father, sparks fly with an instant attraction to the very unattainable and forbidden Mr Farris. But when the duo cant deny their mutual feelings the couple ensue a secret relationship. 'How to resist prince charming' tells the story of Braxton and Lenna and a love story that is forbidden and full of secrets.






What did I love?
This book is so sweet it deserves a rainbows and lollipops award, you don't have to be worried about how the story will end or shock twists, it's predictably factor gives the book a comfortable feeling; sit back, relax and enjoy. The author has a wicked talent of writing the more steamy scenes in this story the chemistry and attraction was definitely evident in this book. The characters were both likeable and I felt the author did a great job of connecting the reader to the lives of Braxton and Lenna and also made a sweet love story come to life.

Why not five?
Although I thoroughly enjoyed this story, it didn't have the 'I can't wait to read more of this story' factor. It was attractively sweet but slightly predictable and I found the ending slightly rushed, I missed a follow up prologue I think it would have wrapped up the story better, as I had some unanswered questions. Unfortunately my overall enjoyment level didn't quite reach the five star mark.



Final thoughts ...
a short, sweet perfect book to read in between books. Don't expect any shocks or twists, this book is utterly straightforward, but sometimes that's what I crave. 'How to resist prince charming' left me with a smile on my face and another urge to once again one click this authors books. Go grab it readers, enjoy ... Kisses.

Braxton is taking his father’s place as the CEO of their company and a lot of people, especially old administrators aren’t happy with that. And they make sure they make their disgust against Braxton and his position clear.
The rudest of them is Tom Davenport and he makes pretty clear that he doesn’t thing that Braxton is capable. On the Christmas party Tom takes her daughter, Lenna, to the party and things immediately sparkle between her and Braxton.
They keep bumping into each other and eventually feelings happens and they begin a secret romance, because they know they can’t be without each other.



But when being in love means starting a war if they stop keeping their secret, how can they hope for a future together?



Rating: 4 Stars.
Storyline: Completely predictable but enjoyable. One of those light and romantic stories that will make you feel butterflies. It really missed an epilogue, the end felt a little rushed.
Writing Style: Third person, dual POV. Sweet and amazingly written. Linda Kage keeps on pleasantly surprising me.
Character Development: They both were pretty good but Lenna annoyed me with all her insecurities. About her life, about work, about Braxton: EVERYTHING. Braxton was pretty good and I liked him a lot.
The supportive characters weren’t bad, but they didn’t bring anything extraordinary to the story.
Steam: Hot.
HEA: Yes.

Braxton has been ordered to take charge of his father's company. Unfortunately not everyone is happy about it, especially long time employee, Tom. But who other than Tom's daugther, Lenna has caught Braxton's eye.

Compared to Linda Kage's other books I found this mehh. I mean, there was good tension and sexy time so I shouldnt be complaining. But I was missing that spark and butterflies. The last 30% was where the rating got bumped up. I found everything came together nicely and my heart was hurting a tiny bit.

I couldnt put it down and if you are looking for quick light steamy with a bit of angst, this is the book.

This was exactly what I needed. I was in book rut. I couldn't find anything to hold my interest. I was browsing threw amazon (which if my husband found out i'd be in trouble. I was put on a amazon/1click timeout) I found this book. It's only .99 so he can't be to made a me right? oh fucking well hubs, I'm buying it.



I am swooning over here. How not one of my friends on here has read this book is shocking to me. Im like



this book is refreshing, sweet, amazing gushing with love moments, and then were there moments where i was like SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!


Braxton is just to die for. he is sexy, sweet, loving and the words that come out of his mouth, hot damn.



This was a very cute, adorable, swooning read. I felt like a little girl and it made me just want to jump and down with joy.

I can't believe there are so many wonderful reviews for this book. I honestly thought it was one of the worst books I've ever read in this genre. First of all, it felt like a 16 year old wrote this. Someone who has never experienced a real, adult relationship. It was unbelievably cheesy and unrealistic. Second of all, Lenna, the main character, was infuriating and acted like a child throughout the entire book. Her relationship with her father was disturbing. Grow a backbone! And finally, the entire thing was predictable in every way. One redeeming quality was it had a great premise. It just wasn't carried out in the best way to make it an excellent book.

This book was just what the book doctor ordered after the hamster wheel/roller coaster read yesterday.

It is just fun and Braxton, aka Prince Charming is a keeper that no one could resist. I did think he should have made Lenna grovel a little more after the Hell she put him through. He did nothing to deserve her betrayal. The only thing he was guilty of was loving her too much.

Hard to believe this is gonna come out of my brain, but I would like to see a follow up book to their story to see where life takes them. The ending just left me wanting more..Know what I mean?

Lenna goes with her dad to his companies Christmas party while there she sees a man who takes her breath away. Braxton is young, hot, charming and her fathers’ new boss who he absolutely hates. They try to ignore the attraction between them, but can't seem to keep their hands of each other. They start a secret relationship that gets more series than either of them planned. When her father finds out will it be the end of the two of them? This is the second book of Linda Kages that I have read and she is rapidly becoming one of my favorite authors, I loved this book. The relationship between Lenna and Braxton started out hot and heavy this didn't change throughout the book but the tone of it did. The two of them moved beyond the physical, their emotional ties to each other were strong. The things that Braxton did for Lenna were so thoughtful and beyond cute, I loved him for those things alone. Lenna settled Braxton, she was very loyal to her family and it was hard on her to lie to her father. Having to keep the relationship a secret added some angst and the whole forbidden element made for some steamy love scenes. I had one problem with the book, what her father said and did towards the end of the book really irked me. Lenna's reaction bugged me even more, I wanted to shake her a little bit. I know that is vague, I don't want to give anything away so you will have to get How To Resist Prince Charming to find out how great this book is.

Lenna and Braxton had an insta-attraction. It was love at first sight for the both of them. The only problem is Braxton is Lenna's dad new young boss, and Lenna is the daughter of the employee who is giving him the hardest time. Braxton took over the company his father ran for many years and in the process gained many enemies that used to be friends. Lenna is freshly graduated from college and hasn't decided what she wants to do. She adores her dad and idolizes him but when she meets the new boss that he so strongly dislikes she can't stop her traitorous feelings. When the two begin seeing each other they both know that this relationship isn't going to end well, but neither anticipates whats going to happen when the father eventually finds out.

I liked this book but I thought it could be better in a few spots. I think that the build up between Braxton and Lenna was great and it definitely got my invested in their relationship. But I just couldn't believe how the employees behaved in this book and why they all weren't fired. Listening in on private phone conversations, ease-dropping at every opportunity, and bad mouthing their boss in public. The adults in this book behaved more like teenagers. Also at the end of the book I didn't think that Lenna deserved Braxton. I thought that he could do much better than her and he shouldn't have accepted her apology so quickly. I would have liked more of an ending also, I felt when the end came it was very abrupt and left a few things not unresolved but not quite tied up either.

This book definetly had its cute moments, but it also had it's not so hot moments.

The end did frustrate me, because I have never read about a more immature dad ever. EVER.


When the climax of the story happened, I liked how Braxton handled everything. Braxton was my favorite character in this book. At first impression he comes off as a high class, rich- perfect, boy, but he does have his flaws, which makes him even more lovable.

He handled the "situation" so well, that I give him mad props for what he had to go through.

Still don't like Lenna's dad though, super immature.

And I wish there was an actual epilogue.

VERY GOOD LOVE STORY, THE CHARACTERS WERE WELL DEVELOPED. I LOVED THE DIALOG BETWEEN BRAXTON & LENNA, BOTH WERE SO MUCH IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER AND THEIR FAMILIES. LENNA'S FATHER WAS ONE BIG AS*HAT, I HATED HIM, WHAT A HORRIBLE MAN. THIS SORT OF REMINDED ME OF A MODERN DAY ROMEO & JULIET MINUS THE TRAGIC ENDING (thank god). BRAXTON WAS TRULY INSATIABLE WHERE LENNA WAS CONCERNED AND SHE WITH HIM. I LOVED THE WAY THEY TALKED AND JOKED WITH EACH OTHER, IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE FOR EITHER ONE TO RESIST THE ATTRACTION THEY WERE FEELING. HOT, HOT SEX TOO. ;D

This one just like I reading a real Fairytale, which is good.
I don't really like a happily-ever-after like really a fairytale before, but I really love Linda's. (How much I type "really"?)
Once again Linda makes me fall in love with her job, with a fictional character named (for now) Braxton.
And I enjoyed this book as much as it's uncountable words.
Hope I will find another amaze book like this oneday.

I actually found them pretty childfish, complaining, not assuming their feeling and relationship and always refering to daddy. Didn t manage to pass 30% of the book which I really regret, the concept really intrigued me.

Well, this was going forward with a pretty good solid 3 star read for me. Then we have a father acting like a juvenile teenager who's video games were stolen by his best buddy. Then the cherry on top was the doubt from the heroine and the horrible way she was to the hero. One who forgave her way too fast.

I've enjoyed Linda Kage's Forbidden men series so I grabbed this one to read. It was a pretty good story of an affair between a woman and her father's boss. He's a young boss, taking over the company for his father. Her dad is angry about a young boy taking over the reins and becomes the most ridiculous, childish father I've ever encountered. It was just so hard for me to fathom that a man in his 50's with three children would actually behave like his youngest who is like 11.

The story was sweet and I enjoyed the romance between Braxton and Lenna. Although, she is 22 and he is 24, I felt like I was reading about younger people. I've noticed this sometimes in her writing. It was ok though, til they all started acting like those younger people. Well, Lenna and her father. Braxton was actually the only mature one in the book.

It was just so aggravating reading about a father who, instead of being hurt over his daughter's betrayal, instead acted like a spoiled rotten little child, making up lies so she would break up with Brax. And even after he accepted that Brax was a decent guy and loved his daughter, when he went to make up to her he thinks: Had Farris brainwashed her away from him again?

Really? It had me shaking my head.

Lenna's belief that Brax had actually cheated on her was so frustrating. He worked late some nights and had purchased a gift and lied to her about who it was for (it was for her) so that was enough to think he was lying when her father made up a bunch of hateful lies about him. Do I seem bitter? I am. He was really hurt.

In my opinion Brax let Lenna back into his life way too easily. She needed to grovel more in the end.

Braxton was actually a great hero and deserved better than Lenna. His pain was palpable. I truly felt for him. When he finally gave Tom (Lenna's dad) a piece of his mind I wanted to cheer.

"I hate you more than...than...Hell, I don't think I've ever hated anyone before. But I fucking hate you. I'd be happy if I never had to see you again. You took away the most important thing in my life.

So, the dad and Lenna lowered this book to a 2 star. I felt the characters were way too immature for their ages, especially the dad.

Tell me, how can I resist Brax?

He's the ultimate temptation. He's hot, he's sweet, he's smart - a lethal combination for a young man who's currently in charge of his father's company. Everyone doesn't want him there - so he's working his ass off. Trying to prove that even in his age he could make things happened. One of these people who doesn't want him on the top of the corporate ladder was Tom Davenport. His character is my favorite. I loved how his character developed throughout the book. It seems that I have seen him grow up and mature through the pages: from a not-so-confident-frustrated rookie boss to a man oozing with authority and power. His decisions, although laced with emotions were still wise and just - and I have loved him for it :)



Lenna Davenport is very close to her family, most especially to her father. When she accompany him to a party - she finally laid her eyes on the 'boss' that her father was talking about. He was her prince charming, and her father's wicked witch of the west. She tried to stop what she feels - but the chemistry was too explosive to ignore. So she jumped into temptation, gave what they had a chance. Theirs was a forbidden romance - but how long can they possibly keep it from every one, most especially from Tom?



The characters, the plot, the scenes - they were just perfect. I had a grand time reading the dialogues and falling in love with the both of them. How to Resist a Prince Charming doesn't only deals about secret affairs, its about family, trust and deceit. Like me, I'm pretty sure you can't put it down.



Linda Kage - you totally, totally rocked! Second to Price of A Kiss - this is my next favorite book. :)

Re-Read

Her book was too hard to resist. When I need a good romantic read, Linda Kage's book was always one of my first choice. Her heroes were adorable as usual. They were usually the hot but nerdy, fun, quirky type of perfect gentlemen. I adored them madly. And to read their happy ending with their perfect counterparts. Even BETTER! Anyway, my review for this book remained similar to the first. I loved every minutes of it until the end where I thought another additional chapter or two.. or perhaps an epilogue would have made it completed much better. The ending was abrupt. Yes they got their HEA but it didn't wrapped up nicely at all. Nothing about Tom and his expected act for forgiveness. It just ended like that. It was perfection until that point.

Good book. Break my heart and make me cry a river toward the end. However, the ending is a little too rush and short. many little details are left out. I do find Braxton very charming and cute but he is a little too forgiving towards Lenna at the end. I really like the male protagonists in Ms. Linda Kage's books. They are very charming, handsome and attractive but they are also not perfect... like they also have the elements of very interesting flaws.. like a little nerdy, clumsy, shy and so on. which makes them really the true prince charming. I do like alpha perfect males that you can find in many other romance books but it is very refreshing to find a not-so-perfect ones too.

Other than the rushing scene at the end, this book is very romantic and heart-warming. 4/5 stars for me.

Oh my goodness, it’s official: I’m obsessed with Linda Kage.

How to Resist Prince Charming by Linda Kage was adorable. This contemporary romance novel was sweet, funny, and just plain precious. Packed with romance, secrets, and family drama, How to Resist Prince Charming is chick lit at its best!

I love a good forbidden romance. Therefore, How to Resist Prince Charming was right up my alley. Lenna and Braxton’s connection and chemistry was intense. I kept rooting for them to give in to their attraction and explore their passion for one another. I yelled at the characters when they messed up, and I swooned when they made up. Ms. Kage did a fabulous job making you believe in her characters and their love for another.

I gave How to Resist Prince Charming by Linda Kage 4 STARS. I strongly recommend this novel to adults who are looking for a romantic, feel-good novel.

PS: I'm off to read another Linda Kage novel, Delinquent Daddy. What can I say? I'm addicted :)

OHH GOSH!this book was; is amazing, incredible i was just wonder when i would fond my CEO cuz those men are so intense sometimes an brax well he he is breathtaking he is so romantic and the relationship was so lame

the most creepy part was when tomour protagonist father knows about the affairtell so open to everybody that he hate his boss of course he did not count with the sexual attraction this gorgeous men feel about his daughter

then after he take her to a getaway to france HOW amazing he could be! everything was fine then there were the guilt for having things from his dad but of course everything have a END and this part just broken my heart in little pieces
because that were a BIG misunderstanding

about when the thing fix and ther made well and came back together i was so so so so so so i cant tell you who happy i was!

Quickie Review-

I had a great time with this one. This book is a bit shorter than what I am used to with this author. But its a solid contemporary office romance. It had a bit of angst and the third act conflict I wasn't a huge fan of as I felt like it was dragged out way too long for comfort and I would have liked to see this couple trust each other more. But the heroine did have to do a grovel, which she needed to. She is the one with the lack of faith. The hero is a gold star in the book. I love his work ethic, his devotion to family and never giving up. He has such a heart of gold. And he deserved so much better than the hand he was dealt, but loved seeing him finally get his deserving HEA. The ending was a bit rushed and ended way too quickly especially for a standalone story. There should have been a extended epilogue for these two here.

Ok so I enjoyed reading this story but I didn't love it. I liked that Braxton was a normal guy and not the usual good at everything alpha male. I thought their relationship was cute and I liked that they both seemed to be equally love struck...

I did not like Lenna's father at all. And I didn't really understand why she was so blind to his actions since in the very beginning of the book he gave her a bruise when asking her about her conversation with Braxton. He didn't seem like someone who was just looking out for his daughter he seemed like a big jerk with few redeeming qualities.

There were also a few typos and a bit of confusion when it came to who's POV the story was from at times....which kept me from giving it more than three stars.

Giving this 1.5 stars because I liked Braxton although that is a crap name. This would've gone over much better if the characters were written as high school kids. A lot of what was going on felt very immature and Lenna was a not a likable character towards the end especially.
