A deeply introverted man named "G." feels the sudden urge to stop at a small town library on the way home from work one day. In the basement of the library he meets an amazingly beautiful woman. Despite his overwhelming desire, his profound shyness prevents him from even striking up a simple conversation, and he leaves in utter frustration. His infatuation causes him to return to the library the following day determined to find her and try again.
Instead of finding her, however, he ends up uncovering a secret that causes his life to unravel. He follows his curiosity and becomes immersed in a series of increasingly violent sexual adventures. As an entirely new life seems to open up for him, he starts racing towards an explosive finish in which the shell of his old life finally shatters, revealing a past he'd been hiding from himself all along.

Also includes two short stories: the further adventures of Sara.
1- Sara's Birthday: Sara is treated to life-threatening erotic torture on a small island off the coast of Connecticut.
2- Sara's Pain: Sara is nailed to a table and abused.
Absolutely horrible book. I always try to find something worthwhile in a book but this one left me wanting to choke the author for the time I wasted reading it. The characters were over the top unrealistic, the storyline was...impossible and the erotica read like a cross between a true crime mag and a dime store porn novel. The whole thing was simply a mess.
