Lexia is an ordinary person, with no special training or unique skills. That is until Lance, her handler, jumps in and takes full control of her every action. With Lance, Lexia is one of the deadliest government agents. Without him, she is a useless civilian who is completely disposable.
When one of her missions goes wrong quickly, Lexia finds herself scrambling to escape capture. The agency she works for disavows any knowledge of her existence and leaves her for local authorities to arrest her on murder charges.
Lexia must fend for herself if she wants to survive. With no clues, minimal training, and an unlikely ally she searches for answers. The agency wants her dead. Can Lexia stop them? Or are they still in control?

At under 150 pages it may be better to call this a short story rather than a novel. Volition agent is interesting but gets few things right. It feels rushed, you can really see it wih certain bits of dialogue, it just feels robotic.
I enjoyed this book immensely. I loved Lexia. I was happy with her growth as a character throughout the book. Definitely worth reading and totally recommending this book to others.
I received a free copy through Goodreads. ---- I rather enjoyed reading this story. It was action packed right from the start and never let up until the very end. While I do enjoy the fast pace this story went, I would have liked it even more if some time was taken to further develop all of the characters. Like the back stories of the main/secondary characters (Lexia, Lance, Maria, Eli), I would love to know how Lexia became a Volition Agent and her personal story. This would have helped the readers to connect to the characters a little more and understand the reasons behind their actions.
The ending was a little open ended, which is fine for me as it's nice to keep guessing what might happen in the future with the Agency in pursuit.
For a short story, it's quite good. It's action packed and fast paced, maybe a little too fast paced to fully develop the characters. This book is definitely worth a read.
