3.5 Big Rush stars!!!

Meagan is getting ready to turn thirty. It’s time to settle down. After casually dating several bad boys over the last few years, she wants to find ‘the one’. Get married, start a family... all that fun stuff. Her clock is ticking...
‘I’m officially done dating Mr. Sexy, Mr. Bad and especially Mr. Unavailable.’
‘Who does that leave you, Mr. Boring?’
‘No, Mr. Safe.’

Meagan is used to the military life. Her father is in the Army, so she grew up moving from place to place. When her best friend, Eva, gets stationed in Georgia, she has nothing and no one holding her back so she goes with her. She sure isn’t expecting to see a man from her past. A man she only met/slept with once eight years ago. Her new neighbor, Reed Porter.
He was definitely not Mr. Safe- Mr. All-Of-The-Above, yes, but Mr. Safe, no. He’s definitely not part of the plan.

Reed is the opposite of safe. He is an Airbourne Jumpster and he lives for the rush. He should be called Mr. Thrill Seeker. He’s sexy, sweet, and he has a southern accent. There is no way to resist Reed. The thing is, Reed doesn’t recognize Meagan. He’s never forgotten that night eight years ago, but he doesn’t recognize her at first. As attracted as Reed and Meagan are to one another, Meagan knows there can’t be anything between them other than friendship. Maybe she and Reed could just be together... no strings, but is that really what she wants at this point in her life?
Being around him was easy- except she didn’t just want to be around him, she wanted to be with him. Could she do that? Could she keep her feelings locked away and enjoy him for what he was offering?

Reed knows what Meagan wants in life, she has made it no secret. More than anything, he wants to be the man to give it to her, he just can’t. He has his reasons. But that doesn’t change how much he wants her.

 photo 1efcc335-7f7e-46fd-b6d4-83d2234e5e36_zpsa857d803.jpg

The more Reed and Meagan are together, the more feelings become complicated. Meagan is starting to fall for Reed. That wasn’t part of the plan. Now, she isn’t sure what to do.
My hearts torn. Torn between the future I want, and the man I want that future with and I know I can’t have them both.

Is she ready to take the plunge, take a chance, do something scary and give Reed a chance, or will her fears and insecurities take over?
“Sometimes, baby, the things that scare us the most are the things that give us the biggest rush.”

Is it possible that Reed could one day be her forever? Is he something she is willing to take a chance on?

 photo 6d483c39-c08c-4f34-9216-16e3282ef275_zps9e972586.jpg

Okay... lets talk about the characters, Meagan and Reed...
Meagan and Reed had a crazy strong connection. Meagan is a down to earth, relatable character. Her wants and needs are realistic for someone her age. She is a woman who is torn. Reed is more complex than you first think. He has something from his past that makes him shy away from all that. It’s not that he doesn’t want the whole marriage/children thing... he just doesn’t feel like he deserves it. Reed is the sweetest most sexy man! Love a man in uniform. I loved the hot scenes between these two! The build up was a little slow, but once we got there... yes!

Now to my thoughts on the story...
Although this was mostly a fun, sweet and light read, it did have a few emotional, heart wrenching moments. Some parts were a bit too predictable, but there was one small thing towards the end that surprised me. The ending was wonderful. Can’t tell you how much I loved the epilogue! Although this is the second book in a series, you only briefly meet Meagan in book 1. This can be read as a standalone, I did however really enjoy the first book, The Valentines Arrangement. There were some great secondary characters and I’m looking forward to reading their stories (Eva and Trevor novella??? Hell yes!) Overall, a really good read.

Oh my! Feel the Rush was everything I love in a contemporary romance and in just the right amounts!

Meagan is turning thirty and thought she’d be married with kids by now, but with a string of sex only relationships, it hasn’t worked out that way. With her clock ticking she swears off her usual type: “Mr. Bad, Mr. Sexy, and Mr. Unavailable” and is determined to find “Mr. Safe” so she can settle down and have the husband and family she wants. When she moves in next to Captain Reed Porter, an adrenaline junky and Jumpmaster for the army, her resolve to stick to her plan weakens. He’s everything she should stay away from. He’s the kind of guy who lives in the moment without a thought for the future. Yet, Meagan finds herself drawn to Reed. He’s fun, flirty, and sexy as hell, and she can’t deny the intense attraction she feels every time he gets near. And Meagan swoons every time he calls her “sugar” with that sensual Southern accent!

Reed has only lived life in the moment, enjoying it as much as he can, because he knows it could be gone in a second. But as he gets to know Meagan, he becomes more and more attached to her and soon he can’t imagine a life without her in it. But Reed knows what Meagan wants from life and he isn’t sure he can give it.

“I know I’m no good for you, baby,” he breathed as he pressed his mouth to her ear. “But I want you. I want you so fucking bad it’s selfish.” Her spine straightened as he used the force of his own body to pin her in place. “You do something to me that twists me up.”

This romance had humor, sexy banter, sweet moments, fiery hot scenes, and just the right amount of angst to tug at your heart and make the make-ups so much sweeter. Did I mention it was hot?! Hot with a capital H! Whoa! Yet this story was about more than sexual attraction. Meagan faced the realistic and painful dilemma of falling for a man that didn’t share the same life goals as her. However, in the case of Reed, sometimes it just takes the right person to come along to awaken unknown desires. The fact that Reed was so very sweet and open minded about Meagan and her life plan, set him apart from the usual main male character I find in so many romances I pick up, attached to their no commitment status. Meagan and Reed were relatable characters, and I instantly liked both of them. I could easily understand each of their sides. They never made over the top irrational or frustrating decisions that would sour you on their character, but that’s not to say there weren’t bumps in the road. Just ones you could get over.

Kelsie Leverich wrote a realistic and swoony romance with an ending and epilogue that will make your heart soar with joy! This is my first novel by Ms. Leverich, but it won’t be my last and I will definitely be continuing the series: Pretending She's His centers on Trevor and Eva, Meagan’s best friends.

3.5 Skydiving Stars!

Meagan is looking for the safe guy. She’s done with the bad boys, the playboys, the ones who want to just enjoy.
She just wants someone who comes home every night at the exactly same hours and lives with her in a house with a white picket fence, a dog and 3.45 kids. Yeah, for a moment there you’ll just want to tell her:

description

And then she meets Reed. A rush and adrenaline addicted he just wants to take life one day at a time. No commitments, no long-term plans, no chains.
And although they both had good reasons to be, and act, that way, this make them both exactly what they are NOT looking for.

But their attraction is undeniable and it’s good to see how they try to fight it (while at the same time pursuing each other, obviously.) and knowing that is basically useless.
But that’s the deal with books: The characters just don’t listen to you!!
description

This is very sweet, well written and with real likeable characters.
If you’re in the mood for the “light and fast” sweet romance kind of story, this is the book for you! ;)

Feel The Rush is a beautifully written story that is the perfect mix of emotion, humor, and romance.

Kelsie Leverich has a unique way of writing that really pulled me into the story--she made me feel like I was right there with both characters feeling their emotion every step of the way.

She has created a very real heroine in Meagan Mitchell. She's turning 30 and has decided that it's time to grow up and mature. Picking the wrong men has become a way of life for her. So with new resolve she moves and wants to start anew. But what happens when she meets Army Captain Reed Porter who is a self admitting, lives for the thrill—lives for the rush kind of guy? His sexy and playful ways quickly tempt Meagan but he is exactly the type of man she wants to avoid...because she already knows him.

As their undeniable attraction heats up, Meagan has to decide if she’s willing to risk everything on a man who seems to live for the thrill. Can she understand why? Can he see why himself? It's a journey you won't want to miss. One of my favorite lines in the book is admitted by Reed but bleeds through into Meagan's character in every sense of its meaning.

"Sometimes, the things we're afraid of, the things that scare us the most, are the things that give us the biggest rush."

Feel The Rush by Kelsie Leverich

3.5 stars!!

“…the things that scare us the most, are the things that give us the biggest rush,”

This is the second military book that Kelsie Leverich has released, the first one being The Valentine’s Arrangement. In this book it is Reed Porter and Meagan Mitchell’s story. I have noticed that there was some similarity to The Valentine’s Arrangement in the fact that Meagan was a lover scorned so this may be a theme running through the series but this story still held it’s own.

Meagan’s life was being controlled by her biological clock, tick, tock, tick, tock, she was approaching 30 and her 5 year plan that she had given herself when she was 25 was nowhere near being fulfilled. She wanted to settle down, be married and have a family. Her track record in love was not good, she had been with her childhood sweetheart for years and was painfully burned. Since then she has never been able to love again and has had a few short term acquaintances but never found or trusted another man that would make her feel safe. She blamed this on her always going for the “wrong guys” and she now needed to find herself a “Mr Safe”. Her best friend moves away when she gets drafted and so Meagan decides to go with her. When they arrive at their new apartment Meagan’s cat makes a bolt for it and ends stuck up a tree, a knight in shining armour comes to her rescue and she is shocked when she realises that this is the same guy that she had a one night stand with 8 years ago, the worst bit, is that he doesn’t remember her!!

I loved Reed in this book. He was your typical adrenaline junkie, he always wanted to live life to the full and “Feel The Rush” he was in no rush to settle down. He loved his life in the army, he trained other soldiers and he did all sorts of wild and crazy activities on his days off to get the buzz that he so eagerly craved. One night as he was coming back to his apartment, he helped a damsel in distress retrieving her cat from up and tree and from then on his life would never be the same.

“It’s why I do everything. If it doesn’t make you hold your breath and shut your eyes the minute before you do it, then it’s not worth doing.”

Both Reed and Meagan had their problems and so you knew that this was never going to be a smooth and easy ride, Meagan had her “Mr Safe” issues and she knew that Reed did not fit this category, but would she give him the benefit of the doubt, or even let him prove to her that if he had met the right person that he could be her “Mr Safe”?

Kelsie certainly takes you on an emotional journey with these two, sometimes I was annoyed as I just thought that she couldn’t see the wood for the trees, but if it was an instalust then it would have been incredibly boring and their story would not have been told, so the angst and emotional drama was welcomed.

I will say the humour in this book had me in stitches!! I can’t for Brewer’s story if he gets one, if not he needs one!! He is stuck in a hospital bed and him and Reed are trying to win the chat up line war on Meagan, I couldn’t resist putting this quote in!!

“My beautiful nurse Meagan, can I use your phone?”
Meagan reached for her purse and pulled out her phone. “Um sure.”
“Thanks. My mom told me to call her when I found the woman of my dreams.”
She snatched the phone back out his hand and rolled her eyes. Reed reached around Meagan and fist-bumped Brewer. Seriously? Did grown men actually still do that?

My only reason for a 3.5 was that I actually struggled to read this one, I don’t know why, I loved the story and the characters but it just didn’t hold my full attention like a book normally does. I think that for the length of the book, not a lot really happened and for that reason it felt like it dragged in places. As I say, that is just my opinion, it may not be the same for everyone else.

"Baby, I've never felt a better rush than the one I felt falling in love with you."

I loved the epilogue (I am a sucker for a good epilogue), I love it when a story is completely told in one sitting, you saw their story till the end and I was extremely happy it ended the way it did. I can’t wait to see what Kelsie has in store next in this series.

Really loved this book. Love this author. She needs to write faster because I need more.

The characters in this book are very likable. I don't think I was annoyed once, which is such a treat. Meg was independent, strong and funny. I could totally relate to her, hitting an age where you think your life will have went one way, only to find it went another way. And I can totally see how she self sabotaged. Yet even with failed relationships, she was not bitter or mean. And I loved that. And, we share the same birthday :)
Reed was so funny, and such a good guy, yet he still had that coolness about him. My heart broke for him, more than once in the book.
I loved the build up to the love scenes, it wasn't drawn or rushed, it was paced perfectly, and it wasn't gratuitous either. The secondary characters were great. I'd love to see more about Luke and Murano and Eva.
The one thing that bothered me, and this is so small, but in conversations, there were many "I will", "you will," They will", etc, no "I'll" "you'll" "they'll" etc. It just didn't seem natural, most people would say "I'll get the drinks" not "I will get the drinks". I know, it's nitpicky, but it kept popping out at me. But not enough to influence the book at all.

I totally recommend this book, as well "The Valentine Arrangement". Both are stand alones, but Meg is introduced briefly in it.

11/10 - This was above average, but that was about it. It's pretty telling that it's taken me like two weeks, in fits and starts, to finish this. There was nothing wrong with this, per se, except for a really annoying instance of littering and drinking while participating in water sports and driving a boat (how stupid can a nurse be? surely Meagan has seen the results of drinking and driving). There was no problem with the writing or editing, but the fact that it didn't hold my attention makes it clear that I just didn't connect with the characters or the situation. I would give Leverich's books another chance as this was a case of 'it's me, not you'.

Calling it at 7%. The main character is wallowing on her couch already complaining because she's about the turn 30 and her 5 year plan was to be married with 2 kids by now. First of all, your life shouldn't be dictated by a man, and secondly, there have already been references to a number of guys she was only with for the sex. That doesn't sound like the behavior of someone who's driving force was marriage. Blah. Moving on.

Well, Kelsie Leverich…what a fantastic introduction to you!  I love, love, love finding a new-to-me author, especially one who writes fun, super-sexy contemporary romance with just the perfect amount of heart and drama!  Feel The Rush was exactly that, and I had the best time reading it!

Personally?  I love a wide array of authors, books and writing styles, as long as they fall somewhere within the romance genre and sub-genres.  The one thing to always know about me is that I. Am. A. Mood. Reader.  That is absolutely without exception.  If I try to read a book at the wrong time, it can easily have a detrimental impact on my experience, on the rating and in the review I write.  The majority of the time, though, that doesn’t happen because I know what I’m in the mood for, and I choose the right book to suit the mood.  So, there’s nothing better to me than a great, sexy contemporary romance after reading a book with dark, heavy subjects.  I need a return to the light, at that point in time, and Feel The Rush gave me that and so much more.

Notice I said a great, sexy contemporary romance.  I am quite possibly the world’s biggest nitpicker.  I do my very best to be fair and kind, but I truly am unrelentingly particular about what I read.  You can imagine, then, that not just any old sexy contemporary romance is going to cut it for me.  Here’s what I require a great, sexy contemporary romance to have.  It has to have a sense of fun and lightness about it…but NOT overly so, and NOT to the point where it’s nothing but (bleh!) fluff.  I REALLY cannot stomach fluff.  There has to be substance in addition to the fun.  It doesn’t have to venture into the super-heavy and weighty subject matter.  In fact, by definition, it probably shouldn’t.  But, there does have to be a certain amount of substance to the story and just enough seriousness…well, for me to take it seriously.  The most important thing a great contemporary romance can have is heart.  Well-written sex scenes are a thing of beauty.  They truly are.  However, without heart?  They’re simply ‘insert tab A into slot B’ with zero emotion.  I don’t connect to characters, to a story, or even to beautifully-crafted sex scenes unless I feel something in my heart.

For me, Feel The Rush had almost the perfect amount of substance and seriousness in the characters and their story, and it wasn’t simply glossed over either.  Kelsie did a very nice job giving both Meagan and Reed just enough depth to their characters as well as certain serious obstacles to overcome.  I can also assure you that, thank sweet baby Jesus, the book never once devolved into…excuse me while I shudder…fluff.  And the required heart?  I kind of, maybe, think that Kelsie Leverich is the type of storyteller who can’t help but write with a certain amount of heart, feeling and emotion.  This story had the perfect amount of all three—in my humble opinion—to make Feel The Rush a really great, sexy contemporary romance.

Oh, yeah.  And those sex scenes I mentioned?  Makes me wanna find an Army Airborne Jumpmaster of my very own and, uh, let him pack my ‘chute…

Although it can be read as a standalone novel, Feel the Rush is the second installment in the Hard Feelings series by Kelsie Leverich, featuring a minor character from book one, The Valentine’s Arrangement. I wasn’t a huge fan of Meagan Mitchell in The Valentine’s Arrangement, if only because she was a potential threat to Kale and Ronnie’s relationship, but I genuinely enjoyed her as one of the two protagonists in Feel the Rush. Meagan’s new love interest is adrenaline junkie and Airborne Jumpmaster, Reed Porter.

Reed is another of Leverich’s sexy military heroes, with Alpha male tendencies and just a hint of vulnerability. He’s adventurous and lives in the moment – the opposite of the type of man with which Meagan wants to settle down, but I think that’s what makes them such a good match. Like Meagan, I was entirely susceptible to Reed’s Southern charm. Considering the insane amount of chemistry they shared, the fact that Meagan attempted to ignore her attraction to Reed was incredibly amusing.

I loved Reed’s playful and carefree attitude because it brought out the more laidback side of Meagan, a side that wasn’t so concerned with her future cat lady status. When the story isn’t fixating on Meagan’s loudly ticking biological clock, it’s incredibly fun and lighthearted, thanks in large part to the minor characters that are comprised of both Meagan and Reed’s close friends. The supporting characters are just as much a part of Feel the Rush as Meagan and Reed, creating a close-knit and high-spirited atmosphere with the merging of the two groups of friends.

As entertaining and lively as the first half of the book is, there are a handful of chapters in the book’s second half that turned me into a weeping mess. This book made me cry; I’m talking the throat constricting-and-needing to wipe my eyes every few minutes- type of crying. It’s an emotional journey to the book’s conclusion, but the ending is well worth the tears. Feel the Rush has a bit of everything, including humor, action, steam, romance and heartache. I especially love the epilogue, which not only ties up loose ends in Meagan and Reed’s story, but sets up the next installment in the series.

FEEL THE RUSH BABY!!!!  I finally got around to reading Kelsie’s book,
and I don’t know why I waited since I pretty much stalked her to get on tour!!!
J I loved this book!
This was actually the 3 rd Army/ranger/marine in a row- and I totally
loved this one!!!

Meagan, the army brat/nurse almost 30 year old! Destined to
be alone-since every guy she’s been with has been well ya know… a booty call,
commitment phobe, or just not her type.

Best friend Eva, also a Army brat drops the bomb on her that
she has been transferred to Georgia. Meagan didn’t know what she was going to
do.. she had no one.. her parents lived in Florida- her BF is moving to GA, and
that’s it. What any sweet friend would do is suggest moving with her. What did
she have to loose?. She needed to find Mr. Safe- Not Mr. Player.

Meagan and Eva, move from NYC to Georgia- What she didn’t expect
was her new neighbor would be- Reed Porter. Anything but Mr. Safe. He was her
1-night stand 8 years ago. What the kicker is, he didn’t know who she was. What
a kick to the ego. After weeks of friendship developed, with Meagan knowing who
he was, Reed finally figured out who she was, he wanted more from her, but
Meagan couldn’t do it. She needed friends only. She couldn’t do Mr. Thriller.
She couldn’t do 1-nightstands. But Reed couldn’t hold on to being just friends-and
the instant attraction they had to one another, couldn’t keep Meagan as JUST friends
either.

Both have pain , both have experienced loss- but are they
any good for each other? Meagan wants the husband with 2.5 kids with a dog and
white picket fence, while Reed.. just doesn’t know what he wants.

Kelsie really made you feel the sex appeal of both Reed and
Meagan. A southern charm of Reed with a body to die for, and Meagan as the
blonde beauty.

My Thoughts:

Feel the Rush by Kelsie Leverich was a sweet and touching story that every woman can relate to. If you remember that first love, the one that broke your heart, then you will be able to relate to the main character, Meagan. In her junior year of college, she fell madly in love with the star quarterback, and thought they had the perfect relationship. She saw him as her future husband, and the future father to her children. However, as a horrible revelation came to light, she realized that he was not the person that she thought he was. Shortly after, she has her first one night stand with a fun, sexy, playful, and charming soldier named Reed, the night before he's is leaving. Fast forward 8 years, and when she moves with her best friend Eva to a new town, who is her neighbor, but Reed!

Feel the Rush started out a little slow for me, but once things heated up, I could not put this book down. I loved that the story was told from the dual perspectives of Meagan and Reed. Meagan has been in a depression since her 30th birthday was approaching, and she thought she'd be married and have kids at that point in her life. She decides that she needs a change if she is going to settle down. Instead of Mr. Thrill (the hot, sexy, bad boy types she usually goes for) she's going to go for Mr. Safe. However, the pull between Reed and her is strong! She has to use all of her willpower to resist this soldier. Not only is he gorgeous, sexy, and well-built, but he is also playful, thoughtful, charming, and giving. The problem is that he doesn't plan on ever setting down. Reed has a lot of demons from his past, and once you find out what they are, your heart will break for him. I really loved Reed. He made Meagan enjoy her life more, take risks, and live in the moment. He was a lot of fun, and a very loving, and loyal man. I loved how Meagan was able to show love, and nurturing to Reed. She helped ease some of his suffering, and keep his demons at bay.

There was a fun and colorful cast of secondary characters in this story, that I loved immensely. Eva, Meagan's best friend was feisty, fun, and fiercely protective, and Trevor, her other best friend was yummy. These two characters need their own story. Becca, Reed's sister, was also a great character! She didn't want anyone hurting her brother, and she made sure Meagan knew it. The large group of Reed's friends, were a great cast of characters! Brewer, was a wounded soldier that really bonded Meagan and Reed together at the beginning of the story. It was hilarious listening to his pick up lines, and attempts at flirting with Meagan. Luke and Murano, were great buds of Reed's and I felt like they were my buddies too! I loved reading about the get-together's, and felt like I was right smack dab in the middle of them, having a great time!

My Rating:

I give Feel the Rush by Kelsie Leverich, 4 Stars filled with fun, friendship, love, passion, humor, and heartbreak! Read this book if you are looking for a great story! I can't wait to read the rest of the Hard Feelings series! If you are a fan of authors like Cora Carmack, and Jennifer Probst, that use hot sex scenes, humor, and a strong cast of secondary characters in their writing, then, Feel the Rush is for you!

My Favorite Quotes:

"Is that why you do it? For a rush? she breathed, the sound leaving her mouth soft and gravely. Reed lifted the corners of his mouth. It's why I do everything. If it doesn't make you hold your breath and shut your eyes the moment before you do it, then it's not worth doing." (eARC, Loc. 1075)

~Meagan & Reed

"He was like chicken noodle soup on a cold day. He was like her favorite song that she hadn't heard in a long time--the one that made her smile regardless of the mood she was in--and he was like her favorite movie when she needed a good laugh. He was soothing, and comforting, and just--easy. Being around him was easy--except, she didn't just want to be around him, she wanted to be with him." (eARC, Loc. 1595)

~Meagan

"Meagan turned around, their nearness knocking the breath from her lungs. She had to tilt her head back to look into his eyes, and she almost regretted doing it-almost. They stared at hers with a rawness that held her captive, an intensity that she knew he possessed, but she hadn't been sure until that very moment how much it could consume him. He was looking down at her like he was unable to do anything but that--like she was the one holding him captive instead. (eARC, Loc. 1811)

~Meagan

"She was dreaming. And hell yes, it was a good dream too. The kind of dreams that were all chocolate and margaritas--hell, even a chocolate margarita--all your favorite book boyfriends popped into three-dimensional sex slaves for your dreamland vacation fantasy, mixed with sandy beaches and warm sun and a couple of mani-pedis thrown in there for good measure." (eARC Loc. 2420)

~Meagan

"I'm not so different, ya know. His palm left her hip and pressed flatly to her lower stomach--she trembled, but only from what no longer was. We both wanted everything, I just didn't realize what everything was until you. You're my forever." (eARC, Loc. 3764)

~Reed

"Sometimes, the things we're afraid of, the things that scare us the most, are the things that give us the biggest rush."

Meagan Mitchell is approaching the big 3-0 and her plans of being married, with children and the white picket fence aren't looking so good. When Meagan was in college the boy who she fell in love with, the one she saw her future with managed to completely shatter her heart into pieces. Since his betrayal Meagan has yet to find love again, which could be a result of the men she chooses to date or is because she is just too afraid to give her heart away again? Meagan seems to always go for the bad boys. The ones that she knows will only break her heart in the end. When her best friend Eva is given orders to move, Meagan decides to move with her and get a fresh start. She decides that what she needs in her life now is safe. She needs to find the man that her heart will be safe with, the guy where there is no risk of it being broken again. But that is easier said than done, especially when Reed Porter walks back into her life.

Reed Porter, is an airborne jump master who is a risk taker, and a thrill seeker. He loves adventure and the rush of it all. He is also sexy, charming, funny and quite irresistible. When he meets Meagan the attraction between the two of them is instant. He wants her, but what he doesn't know at that moment is that they have met before, over 8 yrs ago. He may not have recognized Meagan, but he never forgot that moment with her 8 yrs ago and when he does finally remember it makes him want her even more. He remembers what it was like to be with her, to feel her, to kiss her. But Meagan needs and wants more than he can give her. They are both two different people and right now they both want the complete opposite out of life. They agree to be just friends, but as we all know that never lasts. The chemistry and connection between the two of them is undeniable and Meagan has a hard time resisting Reed, not that he makes it easy for her. Reed knows she wants the happily ever after and knows that he cannot give it to her. Meagan knows that in the end Reed will break her heart and not be able to give her what she wants, but they both decide to take the risk and live in the moment. But things become complicated and they both start falling for each other, but he is still not willing to settle down. Can two people who wants different things out of their relationship, somehow meet in the middle and make it work?

Reed and Meagan were so good together. The chemistry between the two of them was hot! But they also had a bond, and a connection. Both Reed and Meagan have issues from their past that prevent them from finding the love they both deserve. The betrayal that Meagan has experienced has caused her to have trust issues. And she realizes that maybe she goes after the bad boys for a reason. She tends to run when things start moving in a certain direction. Reed, on the other hand doesn't think he is worthy of being loved. Something happened in his past that has caused him to feel so much guilt and pain that he thinks he doesn't deserve to be happy. He loves Meagan whether he can admit it or not, it doesn't matter. Because in his eyes he is isn't good enough for her. There were a few moments where my heart broke for Reed. Because of what he went through and the guilt he is feeling but also because I think assumptions and miscommunication played a part in the heartache between the two of them.

" I feel guilty because I want it. I want you. And I want to be the man who gives you everything."

Feel the rush was a roller coaster ride of emotions: happy, sad, angry and frustrated. I loved the flirty and sexy banter between Meagan and Reed. There were some twists that you did not see coming and some moments that will frustrate you. You will both laugh and cry. You will fall in love with the very sexy Reed. Meagan is a strong character and one that I think many woman her age can definitely relate to. We all want the fantasy that includes a husband, 2.5 kids and a house with a white picket fence. We all want our happily ever after. I loved the addition of Meagan's best friend Eva. She was there when she needed her but also told her like it was, no holding back. Reed and Meagan had a tough road with many bumps and broken hearts along the way. But Kelsie Leverich manages to tie it all up in a way that will leave you smiling. I loved Feel the Rush. It is a wonderful story about two people who fall for each other in ways they didn't expect. It's about getting over fears and insecurities and taking a chance on love. About moving on from the pain and guilt of the past and realizing that you deserve to be happy.

A wonderful job by Ms. Leverich

4 1/2 stars!!!

This book is FUNNY! I think that this is important to note first! Because based on the cover and genre you may not expect to laugh but believe me I laughed!

We all struggle with trying to figure out what the heck the this New Adult genre is. But in my opinion New Adult = Kelsie Leverich!

If you’re in your mid twenties, female and in that WTF stage/quarter life crisis. Then you will extremely relate to Meagan the main female character ! I loved this character! Meagan is in her twenties, college graduate, nurse, single and she is LOST! Sounds like someone? … raises hand.

Feel The Rush really has a way of capturing the reader with each word, to make you feel what the characters are going through. I liked that the author used a unique theme in her first book The Valentines Arrangement with having the male be a military solider and she kept that theme in this book. Also major kudos to the author for having a male BFF that was not GAY! Finally! Nothing against gay males but it was nice to see that the author illustrated the fact that it IS possible for a male and female to have a platonic relationship! Trevor is an awesome character I would love to read more about him (hint, hint) he is over protective of Megaen and just wants to make sure she doesn’t get her heart crushed.

“What I tell you, Meg? If they’re not willing to fight for you-not willing to fight me for you than thats not willing to fight me for you- then they’re not fucking worth it anyway!”-Loc 78

Another thing I loved about Feel The Rush was that it hinted on interracial dating. I feel like diversity is missing out of books and it was just good to see this in a book even if it was just a past relationship.

Meagan’s mom she is like most Mom’s putting that nag in your ear.

“No date tonight?”

Ugh NO! lol I hate that awkward conversation.

“…Oh great, here it comes, the never – ending conversation about my nonexistent love life… “

But the best advice that Meagan’s mom gave was the type of man she needs (we all need)!

“…You need a man who has his head on straight, who had a bright future and clean past. You dont want any momma drama either.” Loc 219 …”All I am saying is you need someone safe.” Loc 232

DING DONG!!
Lets stop chasing the bad boys, with no job/future goals and give the good guys a chance.

“Damnit, her mom was right. If she wanted to fall in love and have a family before she starting sprouting gray hairs and before gravity took ahold of her boobs, she needed to stop screwing around, literally.” LOC 339

It’s time to FEEL THE RUSH..
Meagan has a thing for her “new” neighbor Reed Porter. Meagan is such a “girl” when it comes to Reed. When she sees him she gets all hot and bothered , annoyed flustered and everything. Meagan wants Reed but wants him to want her just as much if not MORE than she wants him.Reed is not what Meagan thought of as her Mr. Safe. He’s wild, crazy and lives his life looking for the next RUSH.

Meagan has baggage and past relationship issues that interfere with her self esteem and the way she feels about Reed.

“I’ve been in love before, Eva. I know what it feels like to love someoe so much that you can’t see straight. I also know what it feels like when you find out that the man you love, the man you saw when you saw your future, doesn’t see you..” Loc 3590

That was deep right? Ugh I felt that so hard!

Reed eventually gets Meagan to give them a chance. I love their relationship. it was fun, new, sexy (WOA MAMA) and exciting. There was angsty but it wasn’t anything that you hated either character. it really was perfect and realistic “new relationship” drama.

Feel The Rush ends with a well earned tear felt (no ugly crying) HEA. Based on their past Meagan wants to make sure this time around that she leaves Reed with something to remember and never let go.

“I’m ready to feel the rush, Reed. And I want to feel it with you.” Loc 3776

Feel the Rush is the second book in Kelsie Leverich's Contemporary Hard Feelings Series. These stories center around a group of military members and their various friends and families. Although the characters in these stories are linked, these books can be read as stand alone. I hadn't read the first book in the series before reading Feel the Rush, and I had no problems at all with the story-line. I really enjoyed Feel the Rush, and after having read it I am very excited to not only go back and read the first book, but to read more of this series in the future! Kelsie Leverich really has created a great series and the characters are fabulous!

On the verge of turning thirty, Meagan, an Army brat and nurse is starting to feel the clock ticking. She has a great group of friends and enjoys her job, but she is nowhere near the husband and kids she thought she would have by now. After a string of bad boys and a few sex only relationships, she is looking for someone she can settle down with, someone safe. When her best friend Eva gets transferred to another base, she decides moving with Eva is the perfect way to start the next phase of her life. She never expects that her new neighbor will be none other than the anything but safe Reed that she had a one night stand with eight years ago. Problem is Reed doesn't remember her. After the two begin a friendship and he learns who she really is, Reed refuses to settle for friends only. Reed and Meagan grow closer together and the attraction between the two of them becomes more than either one of them can fight. But with both of them suffering from pasts filled with betrayal, pain and loss, they are both scared of truly letting someone else in. Can they risk their hearts with each other, or will they decide that its better to remain closed off in order to avoid getting their hearts broken?

Reed was sexy, charming and funny. It was easy to see how any woman would be drawn to him. He was confident and successful. One of the things I loved most about Reed, was that he was such a great leader and truly cared about the men that served underneath him. He didn't let his power and position change his personality and his ability to relate to his men. I also loved that even though he didn't think that he deserved to be happy and have Meagan that he was willing to try and give their relationship a shot and be what she was wanting. He was always very sweet with her. Meagan was stubborn and damaged from being cheated on by an ex boyfriend. Even though she tried to sabotage herself and her relationships, it was clear to see that she really loved Reed and couldn't give up on a relationship with him. There were times that I really wanted to shake her or yell at her to quit running and grow up, and luckily for the reader her best friend Eva often did just that! Eva was definitely the reality check that Meagan so often needed and I really liked the scenes between those two. I also really enjoyed Meagan's other best friend Trevor. I really wish that we would have seen more of him, and i'm hoping that we will get his story in the future.

Overall, I really liked this book. The characters were all really well written and had amazing depth. I found myself interested in all the characters and not just Meagan and Reed. I felt like Meagan and Reed were meant for each other and it was really heartwarming to read as they healed each other. These two characters started off so damaged and hurt, and their growth as individuals and a couple really seemed realistic to me. I think that fans of all genres of romance will really be able to relate to these characters and I would highly recommend that you pick this book up! Kelsie Leverich has really written a great story and wonderful characters that I can't wait to read more about. I will absolutely be keeping my eye out for more stories from her in the future.

First of all … Heellllllooooo there man in uniform! My, my, my, aren’t you just H.O.T?!

Yes, I definitely liked Reed Porter A LOT! He was a man who’d been broken by tragedy. A man who didn’t believe he deserved love and happiness and everything else that’s good in life. He was also a man who lived and breathed for the thrills he could find. Meeting Megan and the chase he made for her was one of those thrills until … it was more. I felt so sad for Reed and how he’d convinced himself of his unworthiness. The way Kelsie Leverich wrote his character made him so real that I just wanted to reach in and hug him – and, yeah, I admit, do more than hugging ;)

Meagan was a character I wasn’t too sold on at first. I think it’s because she was kind of wallowing in self pity right at the start. She was nearing her thirtieth birthday and her life was not where she imagined it would be at that age. Then she had the news that her best friend was moving to another military base, leaving her alone. Cue Meagan wallowing and drinking wine straight from the bottle while making new life plans while on the phone to her mum! Then, enter Meagan’s best friend with a brilliant plane – Megan can go with her to the new base and start her life afresh. Problem solved and Meagan can start looking for Mr Safe – the man she has decided to focus her time on. And then Meagan meets Reed Porter … again.

I haven’t read The Valentine’s Arrangement so I had no previous knowledge of Kelsie Leverich’s writing style. I am happy to say, though, that I really enjoyed Feel the Rush. It was written in a third person style for both Meagan and Reed’s POVs and both characters were well developed. I grew to like Meagan and I could see that she had worries and insecurities, just like most, if not all, women. Since I haven’t read The Valentine’s Arrangement I didn’t know who Kale was that Meagan often referred to. That didn’t matter – I was told enough in Feel the Rush that I understood that he was someone who had previously been special to Meagan. I loved reading Reed’s POV as it allowed me to see just how his past had shaped him and changed him. I also loved how his growing feelings for Meagan scared him and made him question things. It showed me that Reed had another side to him – he wasn’t just the sweet-talking sexy as hell Southern military man who drove Meagan wild!

Feel the Rush was hot and steamy but it also had depth and dealt with some difficult subjects carefully. I am definitely looking forward to reading The Valentine’s Arrangement soon.

From all the reviews I have seen I am in the minority here. I am not sure if it is due to the book funk I am in or what, but Feel the Rush didn't seem to work for me. I felt as though something was missing. I loved the author's writing style. The plot was fun, fast, and quirky with a bit of angst thrown in for added measure. Not to mention there were some engaging characters (main and secondary). So those things weren't the issue. With all that, I should have loved this book.

What did I like about Feel the Rush...I absolutely ADORED Reed, LOVED that man to bits and pieces. I just wanted to take him home and do naughty things with him. I fell wicked hard for his adrenaline filled carefree character. Reed was everything I would look for in a man and I don’t think there was a moment spent with him that I wasn’t grinning wide or giggling. In case you haven't noticed I found Reed downright captivating. Um, and ladies, Reed is a man in uniform, what's not to love about that. I promise you will be adding him to the top of your book boyfriend list.

For me however, I think the missing part was Meagan. Damn I really hate chicks, most often than not they kill the story for me. The lack of connection I felt with the heroine really threw off the story. I just couldn’t get past her fight and flight syndrome, nor could I understand it. Her reasons just weren’t enough of an excuse for me, especially when it came to tagging Reed along. I seriously hated how she treated him and the fact that she would lead him on just to discard him when she felt the need to run…again. The constant running and game playing did me in, and it made the heroine come off as an insensitive bitch. Even though there were some fun exciting moments between the two I couldn't find it in me to like her. I held out till the end hoping that she would change my mind, but I think by that point my aggravation was too far gone.

If I am to be blunt, I wanted Reed to move on and not take her back. I felt he deserved so much better. Reed deserved five huge stars, but unfortunately Meagan didn’t deserve any so I had to compromise with a three star rating.

Thank you, Penguin and NetGalley, for the opportunity to read and review and ARC of Feel the Rush in exchange for my honest review.

I have been patiently waiting for another book from Kelsie Leverich. Her debut novel the Valentine's Arrangement was a great read for me. Feel The Rush blew that one out of the water. There are some real emotional moments in this book and I had to hold back tears. I'm not crier and this one made me misty eyed. At first I wasn't a huge fan of Meagan I'm not sure what it even was she just rubbed me the wrong way. When I truly got to know this character, I understood why she came off so aloof. I could picture us hanging out and be really good friends. Now Reed on the other hand was, well he was just no words. Lets just say he was the bees knees and I wouldn't kick him out of my bed.

Feel The Rush is the second book in the Hard Feelings series. It can be read as a stand alone but Meagan was in the first book so I would suggest you give it a read because it was a great book. Meagan has a bad track record with men. She's turning thirty and wants to change. She is determined to play it safe at all costs. Then of course she runs into Reed a airborne jump master who live for the thrill. A man she had a one night stand with eight years prior who has no memory of her. With a bruised ego Meagan decides being friends with Reed is the best and it works, well until it doesn't work any longer. The connection they form in a short time is remarkable, I loved how his weapon of choice was his thick southern accent that Meagan couldn't resist. Unfortunately Reed is an adrenaline junky and not only does that scare Meagan but she ends up self sabotaging one of the best things she'd ever had. It won't be easy, it won't be perfect but when these two realize they are in love it is simply beautiful.

One thing that put me off was that Meagan was so hung up on the past and always settling for unattainable men. She confused me because I had no idea what she wanted. I think she had no idea either. I did like seeing her figure out things with the help of Reed. They were like Yin in Yang, opposites to the tee, but so perfect for one another. I loved this book and I would suggest you prepare for some heart wrenching moments. while reading it. One that will stay with you long after reading it.

I finished reading Feel The Rush 5 days ago and I’m still thinking about it. I’m actually having trouble moving on to my next read. I guess that’s how you would describe a “book hangover” and I’ve got it bad! I’m probably one of the only reviewers out there that does not read a synopsis or other’s reviews before starting a book. I like to go into it fresh, with no spoilers or advanced preconceptions, so I had no idea what to expect from this book. As a side note, for those that have read this already, you might find it amusing that I thought the book was about Meagan falling for her best friend Trevor. Needless to say I was shocked when she left town in Chapter 2, and I had no idea where the story was going ;)

In any case, Feel The Rush is actually about Meagan returning to Georgia, where she had settled for awhile in her early twenties, and running into Reed, a soldier that she hooked up with 9 years prior. Guess what?! He doesn’t remember her and she’s going to make him pay for it!! The sexual tension in Feel The Rush was INSANE and I screamed several times, “JUST GET IT ON ALREADY!!!!”….and when they finally do, it was hot!

There was more to Feel The Rush than sexual tension and spicy scenes though, there were also parts in the book that had my eyes leaking (shhhh…don’t tell). Reed has a terribly sad tragedy in his past and Meagan suffers her own tragedy during the story. Kelsie wrote some very well developed characters and I really became attached to this couple and their friends. I think that’s a gift because not all authors can do that.

This is Book #2 in the Hard Feelings series, but it can be read as a stand-alone. I haven’t read The Valentine’s Arrangement yet, but I will be very very soon! Actually all of Kelsie Leverich’s books will be added to my tbr from now on!

Kelsie Leverich has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I LOVED The Valentine's Arrangement and although I was disappointed to learn that Ronnie and Kale's story would not continue on as originally planned, I was still interested to read what Kelsie had in store for Meagan.

Wow...Feel The Rush blew me away. It's funny because even though I liked the book from the very beginning, it really grabbed onto me about halfway through the book and didn't let go until long after the ending. OMG....LOVED LOVED LOVED the epilogue~so damn good it just about killed me!!! lol

Feel The Rush was so much more than I expected. There were so many little things that made this story so enjoyable that I couldn't get enough. Such an emotional story once you really got to know Reed and Meagan. But it was also filled with a lot of laughter and some twists that I had not expected. Kelsie definitely made this couple work for their HEA.

Reed *sigh* I wasn't sure about him at first. He was cocky, funny, charming, and sexy as hell. But I kept alternating between loving him and wanting to kick him in his junk. I felt bad for him for the way his parents treated him and also about his brother. That whole thing really got me. I loved how protective and jealous he was with Meagan and of course I LOVED the sparks that ignited off of them when they were together. Reed won me over and I totally fell in love with him. He did some really sweet things to prove himself to Meagan!! I really liked Meagan even though I think she gave Reed a hard time. She was smart and funny and I loved how she was so caring of everyone. My heart ached for her with the whole Daniel situation and at several other points in the story. And I couldn't forget about the sex ~ against the wall, in the shower ~ you get the picture!! ;) lol There was also a great set of secondary characters that I am hoping to read more about.

A great addition to a series that continues to entertain and has me looking forward to so much more. This is definitely a favorite of mine.

This was a great military romance. Second in the series but it's a standalone. It had memorable characters from the heroine and hero to all their friends. There were times I found myself loling. The story seemed predictable but as it developed gathered speed and had great character development. Reed ha become one of my favorite book hero's.

O.M.G. I absolutely loved this story!!! Kelsie Leverich just really knows how to draw the reader in from the get-go! I loved all of the back story we got from Meagan & Reed's pasts, it just made their story so much more intense. I managed to read it in under 24 hours, if that tells you anything! What a page turner! Can't wait for book 3!!!

There comes a time in a woman’s life when she decides she needs to stop choosing men simply for the fun of it, and actually start to do things and find people who can who can help her live her plan and make her dreams come true. This point came right before Meagan Mitchell’s 30th birthday. Although she had planned to be married with children by this point in her life, she decided that now was the time to do something about it. And with that, she would no longer be looking for Mr. Thrill, Mr. Sexy or Mr. Fun… but instead, she was determined to find Mr. Safe.

In walks Reed Porter…Mr. Thrill, Mr. Sexy, Mr. Fun and Mr. very much attracted to Meagan. And the attraction is definitely reciprocated. The problem is that Meagan doesn’t think Reed is Mr. Safe because he doesn’t see himself settling down anytime soon, if ever. At what point do you stop doing what you think you should be doing and just live your life and do what feels right? Be with who you want to be with and see how it pans out? Well, Feel the Rush takes you through both Meagan and Reed’s journeys with those thoughts, feelings and emotions and the rollercoaster that is their relationship.

I loved Meagan. I got a kick out of her character because she’s very hard-headed and think she knows everything, but then she melts…and realizes that maybe she doesn’t really know everything. Kelsie Leverich paints this beautiful picture of her, and makes you really love her, root for her, want her to find her happiness.

Then there’s Reed and he is sexy. And hot. And very, VERY, sexy and hot. He’s got this ascent that I swear you can hear through the pages and print that’ll totally make you swoon. He was very transparent in a lot of ways, like Meagan. He had this facade up of what he though he should be, how he should live his life, because of a tragedy he dealt with a few years prior and continues to live with every day. But you see gleams of hope shine through and just like you do with Meagan, you root for him to see what you see in him, the whole time.

The secondary characters were wonderful as well. Very rarely do I connect with anyone other than a main character, but I actually really felt like I got to know a few others in Feel the Rush. This is the first book I’ve read by Kelsie, but I’m very impressed with her character development. She does an excellent job of creating that relationship and making you care about them. #1 most important thing in my book because if I don’t love, care about and relate to the characters, the story will not hook me.

This is one of those books that as you’re reading, you can’t help but love the characters, root for them, and then get really, really mad at them when they don’t see what you see right away. They make mistakes and you want to throw your Kindle across the room. Those are the best types of books, right? That’s how I judge a book, by how often I wanted to throw my Kindle at the wall and Kelsie did an excellent job of putting my Kindle at high risk of destruction.

I sing very high praises of Kelsie Leverich and Feel the Rush…giving it 4.25 stars! I highly recommend this read to every one of you Boyfriend Bookmarkers! You won’t be sorry!

She wanted to find Mr. Safe, but instead Mr. Trill came baring into her life

Megan will be turning thirty in one month and she hasn’t achieved anything on her list. By the age of thirty she wanted to be married with kids and live in a house, but instead, she’s single, lives in an apartment and has two cats. She’s tired of dating the bad boys, the ones who make her feel good, but don’t offer her anything more. She wants to settle down for Mr. Safe. Reed is not Mr. Safe. He’s in the military and jumps out of airplanes for a living. Reed is very attracted to Megan, but can’t offer her what she wants.

Feel the Rush was simply a happy read for me and was very enjoyable.

I totally understand Megan. She’s hitting that major milestone in her life. She’s leaving her young adult years and will be moving forward to her mid-life. At that point, you kind of have to look at your life and figure out what you want. Megan has been burned in the past and is done with bad guys. She decides to change her life and her best friend Eva is there to help her.

I love Eva, she’s a really great best friend and at times, when I wanted to slap Megan for being so silly, Eva was there to kind of reel all the characters in.

When Megan and Reed first meet, it’s like bombs of attraction and who wouldn’t be attracted to man who jumps out of airplanes for a living?! Ummm… HELLO! That is simply HOTT!!! Reed is your adventure seeker and is okay with jumping from cliffs, water-rafting and doing just crazy stuff, which makes Megan very nervous.

the things that scare us the most, are the things that give us the biggest rush

I really liked the tension between Eva and Reed, because to me, it seemed really believable. Megan and Reed have mini-adventures and reading about their relationship form and grow was just sweet. Of course Megan pushes Reed away plenty of times because she’s trained her heart to look for a certain type of man, but the heart wants what the heart wants. Then of course we get into the deeper stuff. We start to understand why Megan is so closed off and why Reed loves doing wild things.

All in all, there’s a nice balance of tug and war between the two characters. If you are looking for a fun, flirty and feisty book, this one is for you.

Feel the Rush began with the unexpected reunion of lovers who had an unrestrained, steamy, once-in-a-lifetime, one-night-stand. Megan Mitchell, a nurse at an Army hospital, moved from New York to Georgia, started a new job and vowed to find “Mr. Safe.” The first man she met was her next-door neighbor, Reed Porter, an Airborne Jumpmaster and daredevil extraordinaire – the epitome of “Mr. Wrong,” whom she recognized immediately as her one-time lover, from eight years ago.

Reed, however, did not recognize Megan until she jarred his memory and the same inexplicable attraction they felt was rekindled. Each time they were together the sex was hot and became progressively hotter. Neither was expecting the level of intimacy they experienced as they let their protective walls down.

These were likable characters – people we know, possibly our friends, or versions of ourselves. Megan consistently chose men who were emotionally unavailable. Reed seemed to fall into that category. He was the bad boy in an Army uniform, with a heart of gold, but uninterested in the same type of commitment, as Megan. While they seemed perfectly matched, they were looking for different things out of a long-term relationship.

Kelsie Leverich built the tension slowly, as the lovers rediscovered their connection. We became invested in Megan and Reed’s emotional journeys as individuals and as a couple. Then, life happened, proving that they lived in a very small world. Two plot twists blew me away, and served to intensify Megan and Reed’s already complicated and moving relationship. I wanted to wrap my arms around both of these characters at different points during the book.

The secondary characters were fully developed people who added to the story. Megan’s best friends Eva and Trevor supported and confronted her on her own failings, as real friends would. The camaraderie exhibited by Reed’s fellow soldiers clearly illustrated the bonds created by men in uniform, who perform dangerous jobs. The soldiers were multifaceted alpha men, who cared for each other as family, and played a part in bringing Megan and Reed together.

Feel the Rush was funny, sad, sexy, and deeply poignant. It surpassed my expectations and had me reaching for tissues on several occasions. I highly recommend it for readers looking for rich characters who suffer unavoidable heartbreak, as they transition into the best version of themselves and learn to embrace love.

I also recommend reading Ms. Leverich's first novel in the series, The Valentine's Arrangement

Where the Night Kind Roam
Lets Get Romantical

What a great story! I read the first book in the series and really liked it, but I got to say this one was better! I had loved Ronnie’s hard ass attitude but adored Meagan soft heart. We met Meagan in the Valentines Arrangement, she was Kale’s friends with benie’s before he found Ronnie. I wasn’t quite sure what to make of her coming into this book, but I found she was a pleasant surprise. She has a great sense of humor, she’s that kind of quiet one that out of nowhere cracks a smart ass comment and has everyone laughing. That’s almost my favorite kind of humor because you never quite see it coming. Romantically, her dating life has been a disaster. She is coming up on the big 3-0 and always thought she would be married with kids by the time she was 30. To escape a bad dating pattern she picks up and moves when her best friend Eva (who I also loved btw) came up on orders. Only, she falls right into the arms of her very first one night stand, Reed Porter, only its 8 years later and he doesn’t recognize her. This time Meagan is determined to break the pattern and to not sleep with the irresistible Reed. But Reed has other plans for her.

Reed is our adrenaline junky! Meagan nicknamed him Mr. Thrill and it fits. He will do anything for a rush, and right now chasing Meagan is giving him a rush of a lifetime, but he’s not a forever type of guy. Meagan has made it clear what she is looking for, but Reed wants to give it a go anyway. Although Reed comes off as a fun loving guy, he has demons of his own. There is a reason he doesn’t form many lasting attachments. When you lose the other part of your soul it leaves a pretty lasting impact. Reed leads on a fun pursuit of Meagan and it is definitely fun to read, the push and pull between these two strong willed characters is entertaining. I didn’t want to put the book down and when I did I couldn’t wait to pick it back up to see what these two get themselves into next. Ultimately I saw the general outcome coming, yet not. Kelsie Leverich definitely threw a wrench in what I thought was going to happen. I have to admit it brought a tear to my eye and I’m sure it will bring others to a full out ugly cry. But this made me love Meagan and Reed all that much more. Ultimately Reed has to decide if his adrenaline filled lifestyle is worth his happiness whether he thinks he deserves it or not.

This was a fun entertaining ride which was enhanced by the side characters. I loved each and every one of them! And I am looking forward to each and every one of their books! So yeah, Kelsie Leverich, Im going to need you to get on these books ASAP!

"Sometimes, the things we're afraid of...the things that scare us the most, are the things that give us the biggest rush."

Meagan is a sarcastic, feisty, independent, but lonely nurse. Her new neighbor, Reed is a funny, flirty, sexy, Army parachute team captain and thrill seeker. And they have met before. So he's got some strikes against him already: He does not recognize her, he's an adrenaline junkie and he is not ready for a relationship.

Meagan has been hurt in the past, has major trust issues, and is looking for "Mr. Safe." She wants the proposal, the wedding, and 2 kids. After all, she is turning thirty years old. She does not need to be tempted by "Mr. Thrill." They try to be friends. Their chemistry, attraction, and enjoyment of being around each other is hard to deny. Reed is charming, hot, intense, and determined. He might be funny and cocky, but he is also vulnerable. He has also past issues that haunt him and he thinks that his not worthy of long term happiness. And Meagan needs the fairy tale.

Reed had a way of throwing her off course, changing the speed limit, and whipping in a couple of U-turns. She didn't have time for this detour...

"I know I'm no good for you, baby...But I want you so fucking bad it's selfish....You do something to me that twists me up."

This book took me on a roller coaster of emotions. I laughed, swooned, got mad and frustrated, sad, and tearful. This couple was so passionate, but had issues blocking their happiness. They were so good for each other, but so terrified. They both employed coping mechanisms, avoidance tactics, and alternately hurt each other. They had serious trouble being on the same page at the same time.

"My heart's torn. Torn between the future I want, and the man I want that future with...and I know I can't have them both."

There were some surprises(one I never saw coming), tragedies, and emotional scenarios. It was funny, sweet, hot, heart breaking, and heart felt. I truly felt for these characters and loved their potential. They were both likable and vulnerable. My heart broke for them at times, and sighed with contentment at others. And their chemistry was smoldering hot.

"Baby, I've never felt a better rush than the one I felt falling in love with you."

Kelsie's writing style is engaging, flowed well, and all of the characters including the more minor ones were well developed, intriguing, and enjoyable. This story had humor and witty exchanges, but also deep emotional barriers. I loved her sassy room mate, Eva, his friend Luke and young solder, Brewer. They added even more comic relief. I really felt a part of this story and was invested in this couple getting it together and finding happiness. They had a long way to go and lots of bumps along the way, but I completely enjoyed the ride.

Thanks to Kelsie Leverich for providing me with a review copy in exchange for an honest review. Will be posted at Reviews by Tammy and Kim
