Ian king is the most experienced strength coach in the world. Very long history of training athletes in many different sports, he is also a very intelligent man in general judging by his books.

This book left me scratching my head alot, i felt like i needed to be more educated and far more experienced to understand this. I feel its a book for strength coaches not the personal trainer. But the content is vast and very scientific mixed with practical experience.

This was one of the first book I read on developing strength training programs back in 2002. I still refer to this book on occasion as a refresher. The information is extremely clear, with no fluff. This is not a one size fits all book. Ian King is an innovator, the creator of the tempo language we use now, and understood designing training around patterns when the rest of the world were thinking about body part splits. I would recommend this book to anyone, but specifically the less experienced. They will be pleasantly surprised how ahead of his time his ideas were.
