Paranoia is a roleplaying game set in a darkly humorous future. In Paranoia, a well-meaning but deranged computer desperately protects the citizens of an underground warren from all sorts of real and imagined enemies. You play one of the Computer's elite agents. Your job is to search out and destroy the enemies of the Computer. Your worst fear is that the Computer will discover that you are one of these enemies. Paranoia: a lighthearted game of terror, death, bureaucracies, mad scientists, mutants, dangerous weapons, and insane robots, which encourages players to lie to, cheat, and backstab each other at every turn. Is that fun? Trust us.
classic role plyaing game devoted to stabbing your friends in the back- all in the name of service to the almighty computer! excellent fun for those who do not take such things personally.
Good evening and welcome fellow Children of Chaos.
This is a game that is fun with the right group of people. I've played in 3 and ran 1. And one of them was just so much fun, one was fine, and two were bad.
The game is unbalanced as fuck, but it was never meant to be balanced. It's meant to be a chaotic mess.
A lot of the humour I do like, I still have a "happiness is mandatory" picture on my work office wall.
There is one joke that really is amazing. They say everything in the game is a D10 and a D20, or you can just use whatever dice you want because they don't sell dice and don't care what you use. Which I loved because of how many games advert their special dice in their books. I have 600 I don't need more.
An insult to the reader's intelligence, with horrible interior art and layout just confirming the extent to which this was a cheap, zero-effort afterthought. Full review: https://refereeingandreflection.wordp...
